"Because I think you shouldn't go to cataclysm. I don't want to lose you anymore... I can't..."

"It was beyond my control. I couldn't disobey them... I have suffered so much... You're the only thing that made me kept on living, Yakiro. I don't want to fight anymore."

Koneko descended to face me. She was still in her cat form but she was able to speak now. I was stunned yet amazed to see her as a talking cat.

"I don't want master to leave Koneko anymore..."

"Koneko, Ayumi."

"Please don't go. I'm sorry but I know I'm selfish. But please don't go, Yakiro. I want to make up to you the wrongs that I've done. I want to make it right."

I rubbed their heads and smiled at them.

"I'm sorry. But maybe it's for the best the both of you stay somewhere safe. I really want to save this world from suffering. Besides, Mr. Arthur wouldn't be so happy about it if I didn't go."

"Please Yakiro... I want to right the wrongs that I have done. I want to make it up to you." She tightened her grip on my hand and Koneko, transformed to her human form, hugged me tightly.

"Then if I make it out alive. I'll make sure you'll do that service to me. I'll forgive you if, for a day, you'll follow my orders. I'll be your new master." I chuckled.

She suddenly pouted with an annoyed look on her face. She started mumbling that she just got the slavery to disappear and now she has to be a slave again, for a day. I held her head but she took it and bitten my hand like a dog.

"Huh! Ayumi!" I pulled my hand out and cradled it with my other hand.

"Hmp! Then alright! Just promise me, that we'll make it out alive."

"We?"

"I'm yours now Yakiro. Please take care of me."

"Koneko always belong to master Yakiro." She grinned.

I felt a warmth inside my chest.

"Yes. I'll make sure that I'll work you off! We'll survive this. If we don't, I won't be able to order you around." I started to fantasize.

Heh, heh, heh...

"Geez! Stupid Yakiro! Look at your face! You're probably thinking something lewd, aren't you?" she tightened her grip even more. She must have seen the expression on my face. But she was wrong, I was fantasizing about ordering in cleaning the house, doing my ch.o.r.es, feed me while I relax. Mr. Arthur made me clean his house. It was quite big and s.p.a.cious that I end up panting. I would finally find luxury in resting.

An Icon popped up on my vision.

Our conversations were cut off when an icon appeared.

"Mr. Arthur, do you have the same icon popping up?"

"What icon?"

"Icon that tells you to teleport to the cataclysm."

"No. Actually no. That's the first time I've heard it."

I had come to the conclusion that only we, the G.o.d Representatives, had special systems that would allow us to teleport instantly to where the cataclysm is. It was clear that this was the same as the games I've played. It's some kind of a defend wave event where you join with your friends to try and fight off the waves until the boss appears. I opened my Days Of Cataclysm help menu.

Just like a game. I also found out that if the G.o.d Representatives has a party, their party will automatically join them in battle. This is nice. It'll be much easier than locating and walking to the location.

"Koneko, got any new forms other than the other two that we've gained? It's been a month and a half now and I'm pretty sure you had been leveling with Ayumi."

"Yes!"

Koneko jumped up into the air and exploded a huge mist. She has transformed into something I've never seen before.

I glanced on my vision and saw the cursor saying "Crescent Lynx".

Apparently, she had turned into a mythical creature back in my world. Lynx's were known for their ability to keep secrets and their psychic power of clairvoyance. However, things might be different here in this world. Since back in my world, it was only a folktale.

"What are your abilities, Koneko?"

"Koneko is able to support, Master! I have healing, buffing and protective skills!"

So it is different. The Lynx here would be different or maybe because this Lynx is of a different race. Knowing that her name is followed by Crescent. It must be related to her G.o.ddess of the Crescent Moon form which is a cat and also a support healer type.

"Ayumi. What's new to your Curse?"

Suddenly Ayumi blushed and looked away.

"ayumi?"

I stretched my hand to her but she slapped it away in a fl.u.s.tered manner. Her face was blooming red and a puff of steam would puff out from her head from time to time.

"I... I don't want to talk about it! Idiot!"

Her curse must be embarra.s.sing. Since she changed her G.o.ddess. It might be that her curse isn't slavery anymore and is much more embarra.s.sing than the last one.

She pouted and I would catch her stealing glances at me while fiddling with her fingers.

Just what did Inari, The Fox G.o.ddess, would give her a curse that made her uncomfortable this much.

"Yakiro, Ayumi, Koneko, saving the village is our first priority but we must take our time further. We are not fully healed yet. Let our mana and SP restore." Mr. Arthur said.

"Bu-"

Smack! Just when will he stop karate chopping my head! Geez! It hurts!

"No buts. Take all the time to rest. Let's prepare and not do any reckless actions. It'll only make things worse. By the way, where's your mask Yakiro?"

"I don't know. It suddenly disappeared when I took hold of my sword."

"Sounds suspicious." He replied.

"Yakiro, still had the herbs we've harvested and collected from gra.s.s, Rivery, Bearus, and Hogswort?"

"Yes. Why do you ask?"

"Brew some potions, medicines, nutritional drinks and stat booster drinks. We are going all out."

"Yes!" I took the command immediately and started to work. I had my mortar and pestle in my bag. I added all the herbs and started to open my Apothecary Recipes that my Apothecary Cla.s.s provides.

Thanks to my Apothecary Cla.s.s, I was able to produce them without sweating. There had only been two errors. It didn't take long enough and we started to drink everything.

Ayumi started to pull the back of my cape.

"What is it Ayumi?"

"I'm still guilty about what I've done."

"It's okay. We promised that we'll make it out alive, didn't we? Besides, we agreed that you'll do anything for me."

Her face suddenly lightened up. Her smile was pure and soft.

"Pack your things up. We're going."

"Yes!" We said in unison. Our stats were higher than the last time, thanks to the drinks we've consumed. SP was full again but I could only use one special skill.

If I use burst, my stats would triple but I would lose my ability to summon my Calibur. If I use Calibur, I wouldn't be able to use my burst. But if you think deeper, Calibur is much useful than Burst.

Every Max SP limit is 10.

Burst SP cost is 9 leaving behind 1.

Calibur costs are HP and SP. It depletes SP and takes a quarter of my HP as a sacrifice.

Yet, in dealing with monsters, it is better to attack with a sword than fists and kicks.

I also have those other three that I'm not able to use. Zen Aura, Pillar Blade, and Cathedra. As for their information, it only says that condition has not been met or the level is too low.

I realized that my EXP bar has already filled up but I didn't surpa.s.s Level 30. My level showed:

I clicked yes on my icon and it suddenly teleported us to where the Cataclysm is.

Everything was in chaos and there were fighting amongst the village. The Cataclysm has been summoned near Flynn Village and Flinn River.

The sky was filled with holes and cracks like a broken vase. The ground had opened a ravine and the air had turned thin. There were villagers escaping and there were some dead bodies laying on the ground. The adventurers were fighting them off but they were too strong.

"Ayumi, Koneko, Yakiro, Go help the evacuation. I'll deal with the monsters."

"Yes!"

Ayumi started to dash out with her skill named Dash and Silent steps. Apparently, she lost her shadow powers and now was left with common thief and a.s.sa.s.sin skills.

"Koneko, Fly upward and summon a barrier every time you see people getting in trouble."

"Yes, Master!" Koneko grinned in her Crescent Lynx form and ascended above. As soon as she ascended ten meters above the ground, she immediately notices someone in trouble and casts her barrier and s.h.i.+eld skills.

"Stride!"

As for me, I'm going to roam around the village and help people evacuate.

We've finished evacuating people trapped in the village but we didn't know if it was all of them. I pa.s.sed by the alley and saw a glimpse of an Other-world Werewolf, with black fur stained in blood and its red glimmering eyes, held a decapitated head and munched it.

The face of the head I saw had misery and terror painted on its face. His eyes were wide open as if he had seen horror and his mouth was wide open like he was shouting. The werewolf held his head by the hair and widely opened its mouth.

That head belonged to the blacksmith who betrayed me. Somehow I felt satisfaction in what I've seen.

I've left the alley and went to where Koneko and Ayumi is. We started preparing for the second wave.

Two hours had pa.s.sed and the second wave still hasn't come. We were starting to worry since the other adventurers were losing their strength. I ran to them and gave them drinks.

"T-the murderer!" He shouted and ran away. n.o.body trusts me in this village.

I activated it by saying "Mask On" and a mask appeared. It was basically the same demon mask that Mr. Arthur gave me. Approved, I realized that I must have been absorbed when my white flames came to interact with my mask.

"Calibur!"

I held my hand and a magic circle appeared on my left palm just like the last time. It radiated a golden light mixed with pure white light. I slammed my right arm as I held the hilt of my sword, which is bulging out of my left hand. Just like last time, it hurt when I pulled it out. Blood came spraying out as soon as I got hold of my sword. Pure white flames started to engulf my body.

I must look menacing, with a demon mask and covered in flames, I must look like I'm a p.a.w.n of h.e.l.l.

Just now, 2nd wave arrived and mid-level monsters started to crawl out of the cracks. They fell down and started to wreak havoc. The adventurers were having a hard time.

The second wave contained underworld monsters named "Underworld Spiders". They had only four legs but their fangs were menacing and deadly. They started to crawl out. They were pouncing on adventurers and biting them. Suddenly, those who were bitten suddenly paralyzed as cobwebs started to come out of their skin. It was creepy and gruesome.

I try to focus on my problem. They were many of them. We could just leave them but they would destroy the world.
