Jiang Zi Yun felt the delicate hands that continuously tapped her face disappear. She had her eyes closed, as per request of Zhou Zhenya.

"Wait a second, a little dab here, and... I'm done!"

A satisfied sigh came out of the latter's mouth as she wiped the beads of sweat on her forehead.

Truth be told, she did not have much to do in regards to a makeover of Jiang Zi Yun's face. After all, despite all those years of being a beggar, her face was still mysteriously as silky smooth as it was before she got lost. Not to mention that she was already an unprecedented beauty without the makeup, after Zhou Zhenya's treatment, she looked inhumanely perfect.

However, if accounting for the rest of her body... there was a lot to work with. For example, her overly long fingernails that were tattered and dirty. There was also the, ahem, unchecked hairs in various places... well, no one would be seeing those areas anytime soon... Anyways!

As Zhou Zhenya finished up, she marveled at Jiang Zi Yun. She was... a masterpiece of a lifetime.

Jiang Zi Yun saw the little girl's proud face and was curious. Since there was no mirror around the room, she could only head to the bathroom to see her current appearance.

Zhou Lei had a big smile on his face, walking down the street. The pavement was awfully quiet, but he didn't seem to notice.

Right behind him was a squirming Lin Guiying. She had no idea what plans Zhou Lei had for him to invite her over, and so suddenly at that. She did not refuse, nay, she could not refuse. Her answer was manipulated by the ecstatic atmosphere in the arcade.

In such a happy occasion, how thickfaced did she need to be to say no?

Eventually, Zhou Lei arrived.

He placed his hand on the k.n.o.b, when he remembered...

"...Zi Yun!" Zhou Lei was startled.

'How could I forget? Zi Yun was here... Oh well, I guess I need to introduce her.'

He opened the door nonchalantly and walked in, taking off his shoes. "Come in."

Lin Guiying followed inside, her heartbeat getting faster by the second. This was HIS house. This would be the first time she visited a boy's house since she was a child.

Well, it wouldn't be completely accurate to say that it was his house, more like, it was his family's house.

When she entered, her attention was caught by the various eccentric design choices around the house. It wasn't quite orthodox, yet it felt right.

A door opened, and out came a little girl, probably 11 years old, startling Lin Guiying. No, it was not the fact that a kid was in the house, but rather the sheer beauty of that kid almost surpa.s.sed that of her own! She predicted that in the coming years, this kid would only grow prettier, and would eventually go past her.

"Ah, bro, you're back!" Zhou Zhenya had a mischievous grin on her face. 'Big sister Zi Yun is still in the bathroom... It'll be fun to look at bro' s reaction once he sees her.'

Zhou Lei felt a little unsettled by her smile, but he disregarded it.

"Wait! Who's that?" Zhou Zhenya widened her eyes, seeing Lin Guiying behind her brother.

Lin Guiying was about to say the same thing...

Clearing his throat, Zhou Lei pointed to Lin Guiying.

"Zhenya, this is Lin Hanying, my friend. Ying, this is Zhou Zhenya, my little sister."

"Um, h.e.l.lo." Lin Guiying extended her hand.

Contrary to her expectations, Zhou Zhenya examined her face instead of shaking her hand.

"...Why are you wearing such heavy makeup?"

Lin Guiying widened her eyes, caught off-guard by her statement.

Her makeup artists were top-tier; basically, if they said they wouldn't make it obvious, it would be virtually undetectable. However, it was seen through, and by a little girl at that!

"Interesting! So you're disgui-"

Before Zhou Zhenya could speak her thoughts, Lin Guiying rushed to her side and covered her mouth. She then dragged the little girl back to the room she came from.

Zhou Lei had no idea what was happening. The matter about the makeup was fine, he didn't mind embellishments on one's appearance. However, Lin Hanying getting fl.u.s.tered and abducting Zhou Zhenya was incomprehensible.

As the door to Zhou Zhenya's room closed, the bathroom door opened, and out came... what Zhou Lei could only describe as a G.o.ddess.

An actual G.o.ddess had descended from the heavens...
