126 Hiatus?

"Young Madam, Mr. Zhou had reportedly been going here to play on this machine from Monday to this day." Lackey Gao had quite the stern voice, but it fluctuated a bit when he mentioned Mr. Zhou.

Rolling her eyes, Ye Muqi turned off the transmission to Lackey Gao and connected with another lackey. "Buy a DDR machine for me at home."

.....

After departing from the mall, Zhou Lei said goodbye to both Ma Xiaoli and Lin Hanying as he went a different direction.

The two stared at each other before they shook each other's hand – a tacit understanding between girls. They walked away in opposite directions, waiting for tomorrow to come.

The fight would soon begin...

Lin Guiying came back to the mall and made sure that Ma Xiaoli wasn't there anymore. Of course, she walked the opposite direction so that it would be kind of cool. Not that her way home was really there...

Meanwhile, Zhou Lei made it to his home.

"I'm home."

He opened the door and placed his shoes on the floor before proceeding inside the house.

Scanning the floor, he didn't see the shoes, sandals, or any sort of footwear that his parents recently wore. "They're not here? Good..."

The noise of a TV caught Zhou Lei's attention.

"Cigar, mice, and everyone's lies, along with a couple drops of Formula Y, made us, the Supertough Boys!"

"Oh no, Blussom, what do we do?"

"Don't worry, Bublés. They're weaker than us!"

Beside the two, b.u.t.tercut had a smirk, launching a surprise attack on one of the Supertough Boys, Wilton!

"Augh!" Wilton crashed to the floor, a big crater under his body!

'That show... Isn't that way too violent for kids?' Zhou Lei glanced at his little sister who looked like she enjoyed watching the show.

Zhou Zhenya only then noticed her brother standing behind the sofa, startling her. "Oh, you're here, bro."

"Didn't you hear me earlier?"

"No..."

Disregarding the fact that Zhou Zhenya ignored him, Zhou Lei entered his room, removed his clothes, and changed into those for home use.

He laid on his bed, letting out a breath of relaxation.

"That was exhausting..."

He practiced as hard as he could since tomorrow was the deadline for the mission. Although there was no punishment by System, missing those big rewards was a punishment in and of itself.

"That reminds me... there was a new mission, right?"

He opened the interface and went to the quests tab. There, he saw the nonsensical quests that System gave him.

~

Zhou Lei noticed that all of these quests had one thing in common: they were all nonsensical...

"What the heck does my coffee brewing ability have to do with my popularity! Even then, I don't really want to be popular..."

As Zhou Lei continued to be in denial, System replied with a monotone voice. "System knows hosts deepest desires."

Zhou Lei: "..."

In the end, he gave up on reasoning with System. After all, it was an A.I., and a stupid one at that.

Of course, sometimes, that cute voice would answer him and Zhou Lei felt that it wasn't an A.I. anymore but a human.

While he was resting on his bed, a thought suddenly popped up in his mind.

"Oh, that's right! I forgot to update Conqueror of the Realms yesterday... Well, I updated it up to Chapter 380 the other day. I'm sure people are still busy reading those chapters."

To be sure, Zhou Lei stood up and walked towards the computer.

He was going to type anyway, there was no harm in checking what the people's reactions were.

He clicked on the latest chapter, "Chapter 380: The Evil Eye".

As Zhou Lei opened the comments section, he waa dumbfounded.

"T- ten thousand? 10000 comments in just two days?" He didn't think that it was possible. After all, even the previous most popular novel, Library of Purgatory's Path, only had at most 300 comments each chapter.

His eyes read the comments, and a good feeling sprung up from within him. Every single one was either discussing the novel in antic.i.p.ation or praising it to the heavens.

"I didn't think that they would like it this much..."

As he scrolled down, he saw a single comment that stood out form the rest. "Where are today's chapters?"

Zhou Lei felt a cold sweat drip down his back.

Going deeper, this comment became more and more common, until the whole comment section was flooded!

"Where is my daily dose?!"

"Is author tired?"

"Why did you stop?"

These were the most mild comments that still had some sort of tact. The same couldn't be said for the rest...

"Is the author dead?"

"Oh my f*********** you *****, I hope you ****"

"Are you going on hiatus? Without prior notice? Shame on you..."

'What the h.e.l.l is with these comments? Going on hiatus? I only forgot to post for one day... Me? Dead? After one day of absence, are you kidding me?'

Zhou Lei's motivation decreased as he scrolled down more until he got to the most recent...

Ten thousand comments, he read in an hour.

The first half was all kind and excited.

The latter half... Let's not talk about that.

Zhou Lei felt like he should be petty... and publish half a chapter today.
