Chapter 26

No one said a word as they headed to the Philippine Emba.s.sy. Tanaga would like to talk about the wedding and the possible questions the consul would ask, but since they started off badly, the impa.s.se went on until they reached their destination.

Ashley was about to disembark, but Tanaga stopped her. "Let's talk before we go in." He didn't even care if he hurt her feelings earlier or even say a word of apology. Thus, Ashley had enough of him and his insults. That last one bothered the most.

She was no longer the ignorant and stupid girl she was when they first met. For her, she believed the wedding was just good in paper but not in reality as a couple. And she thought Tanaga just wanted to make sure she understood it well. So she spoke right ahead of him.

"If we're talking about our marriage, you don't have to worry because I know it's just a facade and that's what you want to remind me. Don't worry, and whenever you want a divorce, I have no problem signing the necessary papers. And as for your wealth,... I signed a ten million contract, so that's all I'll get when the time comes." She opened the door and didn't care what else he'd say...

When the guard saw Ashley coming in, he quickly opened the door with big smiles while his eyes glued on her beautiful curves, making him drool stupidly. "Good day! Please come in!"

Ashley just smiled back and went in straight with her chin high. She left Tanaga sitting in the car like a statue with his mouth gaping.

Tanaga could not believe what he just heard. He went down later but still in that dazed state. After Ashley entered, the guard was about to close the door when he noticed the handsome young man following Ashley.

The guard graciously kept the door opened and waited for Tanaga. As Tanaga approached, the guard greeted Tanaga with his amiable smile. But Tanaga's face became sour-looking at the guard's smile, thinking the person mocked his misfortune.

"What? Did you enjoy what you saw? I'm sorry, but she's already mine. So you better shut your mouth and wipe away that embarra.s.sing drool." And walked right behind Ashley.

The guard lowered his head, and hurriedly wiped his mouth in shame.

"So, you two are here to get married?" the Consul asked.

"Yes!" Both replied but still in bad terms. The Consul saw their distant att.i.tude of which was unusual for people who wanted to get married.

"One question, one answer. Do you love each other?"

"Yes!" Tanaga responded quickly, but Ashley didn't reply and with uncertainty written on her face. The Consul's brow's knitted and asked again. But this time, he directed the question to Ashley by speaking in Tagalog, hoping Tanaga couldn't understand the language.

"My fellow Filipino, aren't you forced in this marriage? If you don't love him and don't want to marry him, you better not go for it," the Consul said as he tried straining his saliva from dripping while his eyes almost popped out from staring at Ashley's well-formed twin mountains.

That was the Consul's mistake, and he didn't know Tanaga understood and spoke Tagalog. So, the groom lost his patience.

"If you're done drooling over my bride, can we move on with this marriage or maybe you want me to call your higher-ups first?" Tanaga said with fierceness, like a cannibal staring at his prey and wished to eat the Consul alive.

The Consul sweated bullets and almost got a heart attack with Tanaga's words. He knew who CEO Tanaga Jones was and understood this billionaire never bluff. Ignoring this man was like burning his career to nothingness.

The result, "Yes, sir! I'm sorry! All right! Let's move on with the wedding." The Consul did the wedding ceremony in just minutes and had them signed the papers in no time. Then he remembered missing a significant part. "Ah, sorry! I forgot the best part ... Tanaga Jones and Ashley Gusman... I now p.r.o.nounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

When the Consul said Tanaga could kiss the bride, Tanaga suddenly reached out, cupped her face, and pulled it toward him at the same time... and kissed the lady's [ah sorry, wife's] lips real hard that she could hardly breathe…
