2 One Hundred Books Later

No one asked but the one I just recently finished, the 100th book, is about a town on Earth where the North, East, West and South meets, making it a bit special. I felt that it was quite weird how it somehow became a novel but who cares, right? It's finally done, that's all that matters.

Unlike in the living world, I can write anything I want, or at least, I don't have any reason to not write. Although, like any other writer, I do need to collect information – it's part of my job. I want to tell you my job description in whole, thanks for the years I was a doctor, but it's very long and my job is just to write, not talk.

But anyway, my point is, we all have no reason to stop doing our jobs. We all have one job on us, after all.

Tanzy's still dancing ballet all-day [since we don't have any night here], Reidn's still commentating on games, Erin still teaches and Wei's still announcing things that we never cared about. By the way, they're my few friends here.

Why? Did you think that we don't care about each other at all? Well, we actually don't but having a friend or two anywhere can be beneficial at times.

Take this for example: Like I've said, I need to collect information for my job. Just one note to Wei and he'll announce dimension-wide what the note I gave him said. Oh, here, listen. I sent him a note just a while ago for my new book and now he's going to announce it.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we have a special notice from our 'Writer': To those who want to give any information about life, please approach her at cubicle 2801. Again, to those who…"

See? Collecting information becomes a piece of cake with Wei around. Anyway, moving on to my book.

The 101st. Somehow, I feel so nostalgic whenever I start a new book. I don't know exactly why I feel this way but maybe because it signifies a new beginning that will end after many pages are done.

It's a cycle: start, process, and end. Then another start, another long process and another end. Sometimes, I wonder how one can leave this dimension and why the dimension exists but for some reason, I can't bring myself to write about it.

Maybe I'm too scared to know or maybe it's because I know I won't be smart enough to understand it. Either way, it boils down to one thing: fear.

Wait, that sounds like a good topic to write about!

Oh, sorry, just got distracted for a while there. Anyway, the truth shall be revealed when the right time comes.

Wait, time doesn't exist here. Right moment, I guess? Fine, we'll just use 'time' as a figure of speech.

"Writer, want some quotes?"

Because of my monologue, I didn't notice that Reidn was right beside me, still wearing his sparkly tuxedo. Just like always, he s.n.a.t.c.hed Ethan's chair. Ethan's the civil engineer and the boy-next-cubicle, by the way.

Well normally, Reidn wouldn't do that because Ethan looks intense, like a fighter and despite being his friend, he's scared of Ethan. But, since Ethan's not here, Reidn has the guts to do anything he wanted in Ethan's office/cubicle.

Since I hate numbers and all, let's just say that the cubicle is just enough for one person to utilize. Having Reidn here makes the place a bit cramped.

Anyway, I pulled a sticky note from the pile and wrote my answer to Reidn's question.

[If it's about life, then sure. If it's nonsense, then leave.]

I would like to stand in my defense for my response. One thing I hate very much about Reidn is that, because he's one of those who have talking as a job, he talks way too much! If you don't tell him that you only need a certain type of information, he won't stop talking about things unrelated about your question unless the 'light' appears.

Just like what happened before, the first time I met him: I was looking for the 'Physician' that time and Wei told me that he/she was on the 2000's cubicle, just an aisle away from the column where I belong.

When I arrived at the 2000's column, I noticed that one certain guy can talk so I gave him a note, asking if he knows where the 'Physician' is.

He first talked about the medicines used by athletes. It was a bit relevant at first but as time went by, he started talking about the boxer Pancho Villa. I'm a very impatient person but since it was my first time meeting him, I just politely gave him another note with similar content as the one I gave him earlier.

He stopped for a while and told me that the one I was looking for was right beside me all that time. I turned at my right, only to see the 'Physician' laughing silently. Imagine how frustrated I was!

Ever since then, I only asked for his help if I had no other choice. And now, here he was, being a nonsensical idiot again.
