Chapter 564 Seeking Pity

The day Mr. Suarez arrived at the hospital to see Alix and the child was the same day the child was released from the special room he was being observed.

Right now, the frail-looking child had returned his normal complexion and was laying comfortable in his cot. He was fast asleep, while Alix played with her phone.

She took one picture of her child and posted it on the net with the caption, 'I have a few special people in my heart and my son shares a birthday month with one of them. This is truly a great feeling.'

Right after she posted that, she dumped her phone to eat the food that was brought for her.

Some minutes later, there were already hundreds of comments under her post.

'I thought she would take a break after giving birth but no, I thought wrongly of her.'

'She is not acting like someone that just gave birth. It's like that her pregnancy was fake!'

'Maybe she had a child through surrogacy.'

'What does she mean by those words, is she trying to start up trouble?'

'She wants to be in the headlines.'

'A few days ago, Fu Hua celebrated his birthday, could she be referring to him?'

'She must be insane and need medical attention if that is what she meant.'

There was not even one good comment under Alix's recent post and it's not that she cared about it. It looks like her goal right now was to trend and top the charts.

When Mr. Suarez arrived in China, Carlos who was absent during Alix's delivery went to the airport to pick him up.

All the way to the hospital from the airport, Mr. Suarez continued to ask so many questions about the child and Alix and Carlos answered him.

Mr. Suarez came to find out about the child being given Oxygen for 48 hours after birth and was annoyed that Alix never mentioned it to him. But that didn't stop him from asking Carlos to stop by a store to get some things for Alix and the child.

At last, when they stepped into the hospital room, Alix faked a smile and welcomed him. Then, she tried to get off the bed while biting her lower lip as a sign of going through pains.

"Don't get up, I will come to you." Mr. Suarez said as he rushed to her side to take her hand.

"Sorry I can't welcome you, I'm too weak and my whole body is still in pain." Alix said with a weak smile. Her acting was top notch and anyone who didn't know her profession before would think she was an actress.

Mr. Suarez nodded and said to her, "You should rest more. Have you eaten?"

"A little. I don't have much appetite for now." Alix lied in other to gain pity from him.

"If you need anything, tell Carlos and he would get it for you." Mr. Suarez said to her with a comforting smile. He was afraid she would remain weak for several days if she didn't eat properly.

Alix pretended to look even more pitiful before reluctantly telling Carlos the kind of food she wished to eat.

When he left, Mr. Suarez fixed his gaze on her before asking, "Why didn't you mention the health challenges of the child after birth?"

Alix guessed that Carlos must have told him about the child being given oxygen. "I didn't want to worry you. I'm sure you know the reason for my child's health. Your family or tried to get rid of my and the child."

By reminding him of the dangers she faced in his house because of her pregnancy, Mr. Suarez didn't have the mind to about at her.

She had slipped and fallen twice. She had even jumped up and run with fright on several occasions, so he didn't blame her as he thought that must be the reason for the child's poor health.

But after each of those events, the doctor would come and examine her or she will be taken to the hospital for a thorough checkup and ultrasound.

Sometimes, the doctor would say that everything was okay and other times, he would ask her to be very careful, after which he would prescribe some drugs for her and tell what kind of particular vegetable she has to eat for a week consistently.

With guilt, Mr. Suarez asked Alix's caretaker to bring the child over so he could see him.

Seeing the child, Mr. Suarez was a little surprised. The child was frail and he was small. Because of Alix's choice of diet as she didn't want to add weight during pregnancy.

To her, it would be a hassle to shed all the pregnancy fats after childbirth, so why not prevent it on time than suffer later while trying to get rid of it?

It's not bad to watch your weight during pregnancy but going extreme to the detriment of your child's health is not proper.

"Has he eaten for today?" Mr. Suarez asked with a frown.

Alix wanted to roll her eyes at him, but she held herself back. "Does it look like I will starve my child?" She asked.

Mr. Suarez thought no mother will starve her child, so he glanced back at the child before asking the caregiver to put him back in his cot.

The truth is that he was disappointed with the child's frail body and Alix noticed it and another plan began to cook up in her head

"Darling, don't worry about our child, the doctor assured me that he will be robust before he turns a month." She said to him with a small smile, and he nodded.

When Carlos came back with the food Alix requested, the caregiver took it from and served it to her.

Because Alix wanted the old man gone, she told him to go back to her house to wash up, eat and rest before coming back to the hospital again.

Mr. Suarez thought she was worried about him, so he smiled and agreed to leave.

"I'll put in more money in the card for you.." He reminded her before leaving.
