Chapter 480: Marié's reluctance

Sunny was silent for some seconds before saying to Jia Li, "In the rules and regulations for this competition, nothing was said about using your money to get materials, so you can use your money if you want."

"Thank you, Miss Sunny." Jia Li replied happily. She was excited that she could use her money to get the stones she wanted, otherwise, it would have been a shame if her beautiful designs were altered.

Jia Li's colleagues were surprised to learn that she used her money to get the stones.

"You really went all out for this." Linda said with a proud smile.

"I would never have thought we could use our money for this competition." One of them said with a surprised gaze.

"It was never mentioned we couldn't use our money if we exceeded our budget for this competition." Someone replied.

"Even if I knew about this beforehand, I would never be able to afford it because I just spent my savings purchasing 2 of the latest FJ handbag for the last spring collection." Another said with a sad gaze.

"Well, Jia Li congratulations and I must say that if you win this competition, you have to take us out for dinner." Linda said and the rest echoed their support and before Jia Li could reply to them, one of them alerted them to pay attention as the Mc has already claimed the stage to announce the results.

Ten minutes after the results were compiled, the mc took the mic and climbed the stage to announce the results.

"...we had a total of 10 contestants and 50 outfits displayed here today but we have one winner who will go home with the newcomer's award from FJ and two contestants that will receive the International recognition for the young fashion designers of the year." The mc announced with a smile as suspense music played.

"The second runner-up for this competition is, ***** collection by Miss Marié!!!"

Rounds of applause resonated in the building when Marié's name was called out.

Marié who was backstage, went into shock as she couldn't believe her ears. She didn't win this competition and she wasn't the first runner up either, she was almost going crazy where she was sitting.

Her colleagues glanced at her and couldn't believe that she was still sitting there after her name was called.

Sunny who just joined the newbies backstage, glanced at Marié with a frown after her name was called out for the second time.

"Are you not going to receive your award?" Miss Sunny asked.

Marié woke up from her dreams to face the realities after she heard Sunny's voice. Left for her, she didn't want to receive that award that was a shame to her.

Since when did she not come first? And now, not only did she not come first but she also didn't get the second position.

Her colleagues were really shocked by the character she just displayed now.

"I think she is shocked not to get the first place." One of them whispered to her neighbor.

When Marié's name was called for the third time, she appeared on stage to receive her bronze medal with a fake smile which looked more realistic than a real smile.

When Marié returned backstage, she removed the bronze medal from her neck and ignored all her colleagues and walked away to sit in a corner to the surprise of everyone.

For the 1st runner-up, Linda heard her name and went on to receive her silver medal. Then for the Winner, which almost everyone could guess, Jia Li's name was called.

Jia Li was almost out of breath at the suspense before her name was called out and finally, she heard her name, she almost fell to her knees but luckily, her colleagues were there to support her. They all hugged and congratulated her.

"Linda's words are true. JL's nosebleeds were really worth this reward." The person standing next to Linda said.

"If there is another opportunity like this, I promise to work hard till I have a nosebleed like JL." Another person said with her eyes closed.

"I guess you have forgotten the punishment attached to not caring about your health as a designer in FJ." Someone reminded.

"The Big Boss will surely kick her out of the company." Linda said and everyone laughed out loud including Jia Li.

Sunny frowned when she saw that Jia Li was still standing there when her name was called but before she could walk to her side to remind her of it, her colleagues had already pushed her towards the stage.

Jia Li was emotional as she climbed the stage to go receive her award while the audience clapped and cheered for her and some gave her a standing ovation.

Jia Li was emotional because of what she went just through to share her creativity with the world and that is the reason when after she received her gold medal and the award🏆, she was lost for words. When the microphone was handed out to her to give a 5 minutes speech, she couldn't say any words or do anything apart from shedding tears.

The Fu family who were sitting in the front row became emotional on seeing Jia Li cry on the stage, even the little bun had her eyes glued to her mother while pointing at her in worry, as she didn't seem to understand the situation.

The mc who was at a close range with Jia Li didn't know how to comfort her.

Fu Hua was in an enclosed office space watching what was going on on the stage and when he saw his wife crying, he said to himself that it was time and so he got to his feet and walked towards the backstage with Zimo.

Sunny and the others who were touched by Jia Li's emotions, looked tense when they saw Fu Hua aiming for the stage with a frown on his face.

The rest apart from Sunny and Zimo thought that Fu Hua was going to scold Jia Li on stage, prayed silently for her.

Fu Hua took long strides to the stage and to the shock of everyone including the Fu family as they didn't know his plans.

When he got to Jia Li's side, he took the mic from her and passed it to Zimo which forced her to look up at him.

Jia Li who was all being emotional, looked shocked to see Fu Hua on stage as she like the rest of the people was wondering what he was doing up there.

And before she could arrange her thoughts, Fu Hua smiled gently at her and brought her into his embrace for a hug, to the shock of everyone present and the people watching the Live Show from their various locations.
