Chapter 478: Pulling her into his embrace on stage

After Zimo took Jia Li away, Fu Hua addressed everyone else that was working over time. He told them that anyone who would act stubborn like Jia Li and neglect their health because of work, he or she will be suspended and their yearly bonus will be canceled.

After Fu Hua finished addressing them, Sunny followed him out. Fu Hua made a quick call back home to arrange for a doctor to come over as Jia Li was on her way home.

Fu Hua didn't give any details because he didn't want anyone to be worried to a point of unrest. When Fu Hua finished with his call, he turned to Sunny to ask, "How did you know that Jia Li is my wife?"

Sunny still looked annoyed because of Jia Li but she still went on to explain how she found out about their relationship.

"Thank you for looking after her all this while." Fu Hua said before turning to leave.

'They are truly husband and wife!' Sunny thought before walking back to Jia Li's workspace to take care of the mess. She called someone to clean up her office before locking it up.

After getting scolded by the Big Boss, nobody dared to continue working overtime, they all packed their things and left.

Someone like Marié could not stop talking about how Jia Li was scolded and sent home. Since they all came to know that Jia Li had a bleeding nose and was scolded for not taking care of her health, it became a hot topic amongst those present.

When Zimo took Jia Li back home, the doctor was already waiting inside the house. Immediately after she stepped foot inside, Fu Hee pulled her arm and kept complaining and asking her why she neglected her health because of work.

For the first time, Grandfather told her she was wrong. As everyone one of them expressed their worries, Jia Li did not say a word. When the doctor finished checking up on her, he said to the worried-looking family that surrounded Jia Li...

"Her nose bleed is caused by too much sneezing, cold air and stress. She will be fine if she has a bed rest for a few days."

When YingPei was sending the doctor off, they met Fu Hua at the door and so the doctor had to repeat everything he just said inside.

Fu Hua thanked the doctor and walked straight to his bedroom to see Jia Li lying on the bed with her eyes closed. He knew she was pretending to be asleep but he played along.

The next day, Jia Li was not allowed to step foot outside the house and she didn't dare to talk about the unfinished work she had left because her father-in-law who she thought was more mean than Fu Hua, made her spend half of her day in the study.

At least today, Jasmine got to spend time with her mother.

Because Jia Li still had unfinished work, Fu Hua let her go to work the next day but she was being monitored by her assistants not to work for more than 5 hours a day.

Two days before the show, Jia Li completed her works and arranged for her models to come and try on the dresses for the final fitting in her workspace.

She let her five models have the style of the dress that would fit them more. After trying on the dresses, Jia Li fixed up the little error in the outfit DanDan was putting on before calling it a day.

Jia Li was the last person to finish her work amongst her colleagues, but she was not worried about it, as all that was on her mind, was on the 'D Day'.

There was no time to waste, as most of the newbies were busy shopping for the clothes they would wear on the day.

Jia Li on the other hand stayed at home with her daughter and read stories to her, while Fu Hua was the one that got her outfit ready for the show.

Finally, the D day came. The show was by 10 AM but Jia Li left as early as 6 AM to make sure everything was fine with her dresses and to make some arrangements.

As all the newbies gathered they all spoke about how tensed they were when they discovered how big of a show this would be.

"Why didn't they tell us about this?" One of them cried out in frustration.

"I thought this was going to be a small show but who knew it would almost be as big as the Autumn Fashion Show." Linda said in a tired tone.

"I could already guess that this wasn't going to be a simple show, with all the media attention it was given but I didn't expect it to be this big." Marié said.

Jia Li was a bit nervous but she didn't say anything. She really wanted to win the competition, so she put in her very best while making her dresses. Not knowing how well she did because she hasn't seen any of her colleague's outfits, she could only hope that she would do well.

Soon, the show started and it was time to present the designers and their works, so Chyou came to the backstage to give them their number tags.

When Jia Li saw the number she got, she almost fainted. It turned out that she was going to present last. She was wondering how unlucky she was without knowing that Fu Hua ordered Sunny to put her last.

Linda would be the one to open the show, so she wished Jia Li luck before leaving.

After checking on her models to see that their hair and makeup were done, she went on to help them into the dress with the help of her two assistants.

"Sister-in-law, I love these dresses, they are beautiful! And I'm sure grandfather will be proud of you when he sees them."

"Grandfather?" Jia Li said in surprise as she didn't know the old man would come for the show.

"Not just grandfather, but..." FangSu started saying but shut her mouth. She almost revealed that Fu Hua invited everyone to come and cheer her up.

When Jia Li was ready to present, she could feel butterflies in her stomach. DanDan encouraged her with a smile.

Jia Li took a deep breath and quickly arranged the models according to the clothes that will go first as she heard the name of her collection being called.

After her models walked on the runway, Jia Li walked out to greet everyone before going back. She was still nervous and so didn't dare to look at the crowd, her eyes were only on the judges.

Ten minutes later, the results were announced and only the Top 3 were asked to come and receive their award.

Jia Li was shocked to hear her name being called out to receive the gold award 🏆 but there was someone more shocked than her, Marié who was so confident that she would come first until she saw Jia Li's designs.

Jia Li was emotional as she climbed up the stage to receive her gold award. She was already in tears when the microphone was passed to her to say a few words but no words could come out from her lips.

The Fu family who were sitting in the front row became emotional on seeing Jia Li cry on the stage. The MC didn't know how to comfort Jia Li and let her cry.

Fu Hua who was at backstage took long strides towards the stage and Zimo quickly followed after him.

When everyone saw Fu Hua climb up the stage and walk towards Jia Li, they didn't know what he was up to but they hoped that he wouldn't scold Jia Li on the stage because he was known for being cold-hearted.

But to their surprise, he took the microphone from Jia Li and passed it to Zimo before pulling her into his embrace to the shock of everyone present.
