Chapter 464 - Jia Li Gets Scolded Indirectly

"Uncle, there is no need to scold anyone, they are right. This is an internal competition which might not make it big, and their reputation is important as no agency would want their models to partake in that kind of show with less exposure." Fu Hua said without batting an eye.

"What do you mean by that, shouldn't you be helping your wife?." Fu Lei asked in an angry tone.

"I am actually helping her. She can't get things freely, she has to work for it. She has to learn how to convince people if she wants them to accept her proposal." Fu Hua replied.

"But cousin, you have to be a little considerate of the fact that she has a daughter to take care of." Fu Ling said with a frown.

Everyone was not in support of Fu Hua's method, as they all felt that it was unfair to Jia Li. But Grandfather Fu remained quiet now because he has just accepted the facts Fu Hua placed before then.

"Fu Hua, you are being harsh!." Fu Hee said as she angering got to her feet after slamming her chopsticks 🥢 on the dinner table.

Fu Lei had to pull Fu Hee to sit because she just violated a rule at the dinner table.

"Mum, I'm not being harsh. I want Jia Li to be able to defend her efforts in the future because once we announce her identity as my wife, people are going to question her. Even though she is skilled enough and we believe her, but what about the others? Fu Hua was trying to make Jia Li strong and independent, but it looks like his method were fierce and unapologetic.

Jia Li didn't know when tears rolled down her cheeks and fell on her palms. She has been holding her chopsticks for a while now without eating anything.

Grandfather Fu was the first to notice Jia Li's tears. He felt bad that he didn't speak up for her, and so gently squeezed her palms in comfort.

Jia Li had her head lowered, so not many knew she was crying. Fu Hua also had no idea that his wife was crying until he heard her sniff, and that came as a shock to him when he lifted her face and saw her tear-stained cheeks.

"You... why are you crying?." Fu Hua asked with a surprised gaze. Jia Li got up from her seat and bowed slightly before walking away while wiping her tears.

"Hua, your words were harsh." Grandfather Fu said after Jia Li left.

"Fu Hua, how can you make your wife cry, you have to go after her." Fu ChuHua said with a wire is gaze.

FangSu and Fu Meixu felt guilty for not accepting Jia Li's proposal, and now, she got indirectly scolded by Fu Hua, and his harsh words made her cry.

"None of you should raise your voice, Da Xia is still here." Grandfather Fu said with his gaze on the little bun who looked a little tense with the atmosphere in the dining room.

"Princess, I will be right back." Fu Hua said to the little bun as he got up to chase after Jia Li, but Jasmine started to cry. She just saw her mother leave, and now, her father wanted to leave too.

Fu Hua asked his mother to look after the little girl before disappearing from their view.

When Jia Li walked into the bedroom, she sat on the bed and let her tears flow. She felt that her husband's words were a bit harsh, and she was not used to him speaking that way to her, so she felt emotional.

She has been working her ass off, just so she could prove her talents, only to be told off by him.

A minute later, she got up from the bed and wiped her tears. She kept asking herself why she was crying and only discovered she cried because Fu Hua was not just her boss, but also her husband, and yet he treated her like any other employee he had under him.

Jia Li was about consoling herself when Fu Hua walked into the room.. Jia Li thought she was seeking better until she saw him, and that's when she knew she still had a big lump in her throat.
