Chapter 225 - Block Of Ice

Around 11:40 PM, Fu Hua came back to wake Jia Li up. Jia Li was still sleepy and let Fu Hua help her up.

"Is it time already?" She asked in a slow tone.

"Yeah, everyone is outside, let's get you dresses up!" Fu Hua said as he took her inside the inner room and dressed her in warmer clothes before taking her outside to join the rest of the family members.

Jia Li was surprised to see Grandfather Fu outside by that time. The old man was all smiles when he saw her.

Jia Li watched the fireworks ?? in the sky and smiled she reached for the one Fu Hua was about to light.

"No way!" Fu Hua said as he raised the fireworks so her hands can't reach them.

"Why?!" Jia Li asked with a frown.

"You're going to hurt yourself if you're not careful." Fu Hua said to her.

"I'm not going to hurt myself, I'm not a child. Give it to me!" Jia Li said as she tried to reach for it again but Fu Hua wouldn't let her.

"Beautiful, be obedient and listen to your husband." Fu Hua said with a smile.

"My name is not beautiful." Jia Li said in a huff.

"What's the meaning of your name?" Fu Hua inquired as he gazed into her eyes. He was sure that he guessed the meaning of her name or is that she had no idea about it?

Jia Li was silent for a while before replying, "Food and beautiful."

"I'm right after all!" Fu Hua said with a proud smile.

"Fu Hua, give it to me! It's almost time for the count down." Jia Li said in an annoyed tone. If not for the difference in their height, she would have long snatched the fireworks from him.

"Call me husband." Fu Hua teased with a smile.

"What?" Jia Li said a frown.

'What kind of request was that?' She thought.

"You better hurry up, everyone is looking at us and the countdown is about to begin." Fu Hua said with a threat.

Jia Li glanced around and saw that the family would sometimes turn to glance at them. She felt embarrassed with displaying her childish nature in front of them.

"Husband." Jia Li called out of frustration.

"Good girl." Fu Hua smiled and handed it to her. "Be careful not to scare the child." He reminded her.

"It will have fun with mum and dad." Jia Li said as he glanced at her abdomen. Because of the thick clothes she was putting on, her small baby bump can't be seen.

While the countdown started, the fireworks started going off one after the other. And finally, when it was midnight, they screamed, 'Happy Christmas' and released the biggest fireworks with the festive words written.

It was so beautiful seeing the word, 'Merry Christmas' written in the sky.

Fu Hua hugged Jia Li and kissed her forehead.

It may be weird the Fu family was celebrating Christmas like New Year but that's how they run their things.

Grandfather Fu approached Fu Hua and Jia and they wished each other Merry Christmas.

Grandfather Fu said to Jia Li while pointing at Fu Hua, "I have never seen my grandson celebrate with us so happily on festive periods, he's always like a block of ice ????. But since you came into his life, he has transformed but just for you."

Jia Li laughed at the old man's words and glanced at Fu Hua whose gaze has turned serious.

Grandfather Fu chatted with them for a while before the rest of the family approached them to greet the old man.

Fu YingPei had a bottle of Champagne in his hands as he came over. He popped the champagne right in their presence, before pouring some of its contents into the glasses the servants passed to everyone.

The family made a toast to a Merry Christmas celebration before Fu YingPei brought up Jia Li's success stories.

"Sister-in-law has made the Fu family proud by emerging as... and winning 2 awards... These days, she is popular and making waves in the Fashion Industry... Cheers to Jia Li!"

Everyone raised a toast to Jia Li to celebrate her success. Fu Hee clinked glasses with her but there was no visible smile on her face.

Although she had no evil plans against her, she still, did not like her.

Fu YingPei made a toast to everyone while enjoying the fireworks, before going inside to rest.

Some healthy snacks were served to everyone, so they all ate a little before retiring for the night.

Fu Hua passes his share of snacks to Jia Li and they ate them happily. Fu Hua smiled as he watched her eat.

"Hope you're not eating the food alone and you're giving some of them to my child, Beautiful?" Fu Hua whispered to her ear.

Jia Li glanced at him before moving close to his ear to whisper in a soft tone, "I'm eating for two."

Fu Hua chuckled softly and didn't know what to say to her. She was so shameless when it came to food.

Grandfather Fu smiled happily when saw Jia Li eating so well. He even added some of his snacks to her plate.

"Thank you, grandfather." Jia Li said with a smile. She didn't reject the old man's goodwill and she appreciated him.

While she was eating, Fu Hua placed his left hand on her lap from under the table.

Jia Li was distracted and glanced at him but he said to her, 'eat your food' and she fixed her gaze back on her snacks and continued munching on them.

It hadn't been up to a few seconds when Fu Hua's hands crept under her dress to caress her thighs. While doing so, he had his gaze on his empty plate while playing innocent.

Jia Li glanced at him and tried to give him a sign to stop but he wasn't looking towards her direction, then she knew that he was doing it on purpose.

She glanced around before staring back at him.. She didn't want it to be obvious that something was going on, so she continued to eat as if nothing was happening but it was kind of difficult as she couldn't ignore that hand that was creeping inside her thighs.
