This method is kind of similar to Dieres oni transformation.

The difference between them is that Dieres [horn] can forcefully steal all the magic power from the surroundings. This includes whats in the air, earth, and the world itself, unlike demonic beasts who can only absorb magic power from magic springs and other living beings.

Thats because the efficiency of the demonic beasts when they absorb magic power isnt very high.

Even if a single demonic beast can drain all the spring water from a magic spring dry, in the end, the amount of actual magic power that it can absorb is probably less than 0.01% of it.

Thats how it is when one tries to rip magic power from outside sources. Magic power that doesnt actually belong to oneself cannot be completely and perfectly utilized. In the end, it will end up causing an enormous amount of waste.

From that perspective, Dieres [horn] truly is amazing. It could actualy forcefully convert all the magic power it absorbs into power completely, thus allowing Dieres level to quickly rise, to the point where she could reach level 90+ in just a little bit. This is like Gu refining. The ritual that makes demonic beasts and demons devour each other, absorb each others magic power and flesh, and using it to strengthen oneself, in the end will only cause the refining demons to go berserk and mutate.

Thus, perhaps the status of demonic beasts wasting the vast majority of any outside magic power source that it absorbs, leaving only a tiny remainder for themselves, may actually be a defensive feature.

However, this particular rule will be broken when someone is using the [Taming] skill.

Thats because individuals with the [Taming] skill is capable of converting their magic power into a form thats easy for demonic beasts to consume, allowing the demonic beast to fully absorb all that power.

With that, the demonic beast is able to absorb magic power at a far higher efficiency than it can normally. Thus, they can get stronger at a far faster rate than before, and get much stronger as well.

In such a situation, adding in the fact that demonic beasts who have absorbed the tamers magic power will end up gaining feelings of closeness and reliance toward said tamer, the end result is that the demonic beast will follow and submit of their own initiative.

It was mentioned before that the Mitra Kingdom has a master tamer. His [Taming] skill isnt all that high leveled, but he has a skill that greatly increases the success chance of his [Taming] skill. The effect of that unique skill is to strengthen the master tamers magic power conversion ability.

The end result is that this master tamer had raised a huge flock of wyverns for the Kingdom as mounts.

Now, Shien is using his own [Taming] skill to convert vast amounts of magic power into a form that the black dragon can absorb before then infusing it into the dragons body.

Of course, the black dragon is already very high leveled, so even if Shiens magic power is enormous, it still cant easily raise its level just like that.
