Chapter 916 - "Game Nights"

Hao Xuan went through the door while the full audio log of Altron's struggle against the automated system was broadcast overhead for everyone to hear.

"ARGH! YOU DUMB ROBOT! I MADE YOU AND YOU DARE DISOBEY ME LIKE THAT! wHERE'S MY BELT!"

A faint smile bloomed across Hao Xuan's lips. He found it quite entertaining, not just his antics but the mere idea of one AI fighting back against the other in the pettiest way possible.

Hao Xuan had to close his eyes for a second after entering because of the stark brightness as compared to the outside. And when he got used to the bright lights he opened to them, once again marveling at what the progress Altron and the Orcs had made.

Hundreds of small box-shaped drones flew overhead in silence, carrying much larger items or bags in their flimsy-looking robot arms. They went from one building to another constantly on the move like a bunch of ants.

The road under his feet was built with some solid substance like concrete and each of the main buildings had a sort of spherical structure to maximize space and efficiency.

But it wasn't a complete metropolis. In fact, most buildings didn't go higher than 3 floors. There was plenty of vegetation along every single path from entire adult trees to multicolored flowers and even fruit plants every now and then.

Hao Xuan was completely in love with the design. It was a perfect harmony of man and nature, both existing side by side. He had walked through the main road for over a minute before he saw the first Orc.

It was a female Orc whose name escaped Hao Xuan's mind. There were two hundred of them and he couldn't be expected to remember each one this quickly.

She was dressed in modern attire that resembled exercising garments back from earth. With tight black shorts, a sports bra, and a wet towel around her neck that was sticking to her body because of the excessive sweat, there wasn't much left to the imagination.

"Hello," Hao Xuan greeted with a smile but when she saw who it was her face went from shocked to ashamed to shy in a handful of seconds as she processed and then finally realized who it was.

She turned around to face him almost mechanically and bowed from the waist before running off somewhere.

Hao Xuan nodded satisfactorily because it looked like their standard of living had increased greatly and they were getting used to the tools of the current era.

After another minute of walking Hao Xuan finally came to a stop in front of what looked like the town square.

There was a patch of round grass-covered land with a giant statue in the middle. And the most surprising part was that the statue was of Hao Xuan. He was wearing an oversized cloak that made him look like some sort of a boring hero from a children's fairy tale.

And then Hao Xuan's gaze fell on the somewhat strange pose the statue he was. His right hand was raised into the air holding a small ball with wings and a halo on top.

"The fuck..."

Although it looked like the statue was of Hao Xuan but upon closer inspection, he was just there to make Altron look better.

Hao Xuan moved closer and noticed an inscription on the base of the statue. It read: "And I usher unto thee, Altron, the bringer of light and the infamous Sunday night game nights. Dial 9090 to participate, only on channel 4."

And then right below that in barely discernable letters, it read: "Lord Altron is not liable for any injuries caused during the game nights. All responsibility lies with the participants. PS: I'm sorry for almost melting your face Arthur, please stop threatening me, I have fixed the death ray, XOXO," followed by a heart-eyed winking emoji.

Hao Xuan's brow locked in a tight furrow just as Baracus spoke up.

"I did ask you to let me wipe him."

"No...it's fine. He's just...a little quirky. As long as he is doing his job I don't care what he does on the side....even if it is producing and airing a weekly game show. Where the hell did he get that idea anyway?"

"I transferred all the information pertaining to your life on the farm planet 'Earth'. I presume he took a few ideas from there."

"But...why?"

"You can ask yourself."

Just as Baracus stopped talking Hao Xuan heard a screeching sound and turned around to see a small three-wheeled motorcycle with an empty tray in the back. Well, there was a single metal ball on the tray so it wasn't completely empty.

Altron rolled off before slowly hovering into the air at around Hao Xuan's height. The same two arms popped out from the sides and a series of lights created a proper face in the center.

"W-Welcome back, oh great master of the universe!"
