"How is his condition?" Lu Yifeng asked a man wearing a long white coat.

"He's out of danger and he's showing positive signs. He might wake up anytime." The doctor replied.

"I see."

After the doctor left Lu Yifeng turned to the man who was staring at Lu Xian Yu's unconscious state through the gla.s.s window, "Didn't you go too far, Han Qinshan?" 

"He volunteered for it. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be able to catch those schemy old men." Han Qinshan turned to Lu Yifeng. "I have to make it as realistic as possible. It's also the only way of giving him my full protection."

The gold card wasn't easy to give to others even if the Wolf king wanted to give it to someone since the Elders of the azure republic would still have to give their final decisions on it. The only exception in it is when it came to the woman that the wolf king chose to marry.

Besides, some of the elders of the Azure republic had different plans in mind. They wanted to dethrone the current wolf king and destroy the Han family.

Lu Xian Yu was the bait to catch the real culprit that wanted to destroy them. 

The Lu twins and Han Qinshan were actually childhood friends, aside from that, their fathers were best friend since high school.

Han Qinshan was the one who invited Lu Xian Yu in the Azure Republic and allowed him to build his own organization there.

"It's not like he can easily be killed." Han Qinshan added as he turned his gaze back to Lu Xian Yu.

A knock suddenly interrupted them and Su Lei entered, holding Lu Yifeng's phone. "Sir, madam is calling."

"Tell her that I'm in a meeting. I'll call her back later." 

"Okay."

Han Qinshan went and sat at the sofa. "It has been so long since I last visited China. I'm actually surprised that you married someone. I thought that you were gay."

Lu Yifeng's eyes narrowed dangerously upon hearing what Han Qinshan said. "Should I beat you like how you beat my brother?"

Su Lei broke into a cold sweat when he felt the room became colder than Antartica. He slowly, quietly closed the door.

"Why are you so defensive? Are you actually one?" Han Qinshan calmly poured a tea on his cup. "And here I thought that I was your first love."

By the time he picked the teacup from the table, the table was split into two.

Han Qinshan lazily raised his head to Lu Yifeng, "Wow, when was the last time I saw that move? It looks heavier than back then." He took a sip from his teacup.

"The Azure Republic?" 

It was the first time that Xia Meilin heard of it.

"Yes, I was hoping that boss knows something about it." No matter how much Li Bingbing searched for it online, she couldn't find anything about it, as if it never existed.

"My husband is currently on a business trip."

"For how long?"

"I'm not sure, he has been away for three weeks now."

Li Bingbing heaved out a sigh, "It looks like I have to hack into the government's secret files."

"If you do that, the government will try to track you, you know."

"They'll have to catch me first." Although she said that, Li Bingbing didn't want to be reckless like she was during her single days. She was a mother of two now and aside from that, she was expecting an additional child.

"I can give Lu Yifeng a call," suggested Xia Meilin.

"Please do." Li Bingbing was desperate to know what was happening on Lu Xian Yu's side. It has almost been a month already and yet, Lu Xian Yu won't even give her a call to rea.s.sure her that he was fine.

Whenever she tried Qiang Wei, Mo Lihua and the others to speak, they would dodge her inquiry.

Xia Meilin tried calling her husband but for some reason, his phone was just ringing.

"Is he in a meeting?" But that was weird, Lu Yifeng would always answer her call even if he was in a meeting.

It was then that she received a message from Su Lei, saying, "Master is currently in a meeting."

"Huh… he's in a meeting right now." Xia Meilin said, still staring at her phone's screen.

Li Bingbing sighed for the nth time. "That Lu Xian Yu… he's giving me a big headache right now."
