Upon arriving at Xia Sinian's place...

"Darling, I'm home!" Li Bingbing exclaimed happily as she entered but what caught her attention was the complete darkness of the place. The only lights she saw were the fairy lights that were on the floor, leading to the dining room.

At first, she was surprised and confused by it but when she remembered the dinner date that she asked Xia Sinian earlier, her heart started thumping fast.

She followed the fairy lights and when she entered, she saw the dining table surrounded by the beautiful fairy lights.

In the middle of the ceiling above the carved oak table was a beautiful candelabra. The polished silver cutlery was heavy to the hand and shone brightly in the early evening light. At each place stood a tall empty wine gla.s.s and there were beautifully folded napkins to match the runner. The table was filled with all her favorite food and they were neatly and beautifully placed on the plates.

Although what really made her jaw drop was when she saw Xia Sinian in a dazzling white suit. He wasn't holding a bouquet, he was only holding a piece of rose.

She gaped openly as she observed his sharp jaw, chin, and cheekbones. On either side of his straight nose were two blazing hazel eyes. His dark brows were thick and graceful. His warm dark chocolate hair was neatly combed back.

"Welcome home." A small smile played on his lips. His words were like vanilla pudding, sweet in their ordinary sort of way, it was the richness of his tones - luxurious and warm.

He walked toward her and handed the red velvet rose. "For you."

Li Bingbing's face heated up as she accepted the rose, though her eyes were still locked at Xia Sinian's gentle gaze. The fragrance coming from it was so heavenly.

She didn't expect him to prepare a dinner date at home. She thought that they were going out to eat but now that she was there, she couldn't help but be touched with Xia Sinian's sweet gesture.

"I have prepared all your favorites."

"You cooked them?" Li Bingbing's eyes sparkled in delight.

"Yes, they're just for you." Xia Sinian said with a soft smile. He led her towards her seat and pulled her seat for her.

Li Bingbing sat down and placed the piece of rose in the vase that was in the middle of the table.

Since Li Bingbing had already found out of his condition and his limited time, Xia Sinian decided to make every moment of his stay with her worthwhile, especially while his body had still its strength.

Xia Sinian poured the red wine on her gla.s.s before he watched her eat the food that he made for her.

"Why aren't you touching the food?" Asked Li Bingbing as she paused from eating.

"I just remembered something." He stood from his seat before he went to her and knelt on her side. He pulled out a small box and opened it, revealing the silver ring with a s.h.i.+ning diamond on top. It was the ring that he had always kept for her.

Li Bingbing's eyes went wide when she saw the ring. It was there where she noticed that he was actually wearing the silver ring on his finger.

"This is for you."

Li Bingbing furrowed at what he said, "Aren't you supposed to say 'Will you marry me'?"

He really wasn't planning to marry her since he didn't want to make her a widow. He managed to let out a soft chuckle, "Do I have to ask a question with an obvious answer to it?"

Alluringly, she blinked her eyes, allowing her eyelashes to flutter like the wings of a b.u.t.terfly. "You do have a point."

She reached out her hand to him and looked at him with an excited grin on her face.

Xia Sinian took the ring from the box before he carefully slipped the ring around her ring finger.

Happiness flowed through her, warming her skin like the rays of an early summer sun. She exploded into a radiant smile as she stared at the ring that was on her finger.

"Oh, Sisi, I really love you so much!" She leaned and hugged him close.

They had been since high-school and from that no-one could separate them, except for the fact that the decision Xia Sinian made during college made them heartbroken. But that didn't matter now. She would never fear the dark again because she would never be alone, she had him back.
