208 News From Mika

Heck, it almost felt like she was talking with a vinegar tank!

At the end of their conversation, the frown in her face was so deep, she felt like her skin tightened so much, it hurt. She, in her anger, ended the conversation abruptly, could no longer take his neverending questions about why she deliberately forgetting to inform him about her trip to the island, and why she did not invite him to go along.

It was so frustrating, it gave her a headache!

She dropped the phone back to the bed with a loud groan. Her hand rubbed her head, trying to ease the pain.

"d.a.m.n."

After a few minutes, she got up and walked slowly to the kitchen to get a gla.s.s of water. Her headache was getting worse and she needed a pill to stop it.

She leaned back against the refrigerator after she gulped down a Paracetamol. She closed her eyes and waited for the pill to work its magic.

Then, once she felt better, she walked slowly back to her bedroom. Mother call was waiting. The last but most important call.

A call to Jeremy.

She sighed heavily when she saw the mobile phone lying innocently on the bed.

Whether she liked it or not, she had to do the call.

Slowly her hand reached for it but still, she did not swipe her finger to unlock the phone.

She felt tired. She felt restless. She did not have the mood to do this.

Without thinking, she dropped the phone to the bed and went out of the room. Instead of going back to the kitchen, she went into the bathroom to wash her face with cold water.

Now she... No, she was still not ready.

She went to the living room and lied down on the floor, staring at the ceiling.

After the conversation with Harry, she did not have the mood to face the questions from Jeremy. She did not want to feel guilty just having time alone herself. She did not belong to anyone, and was not required to report to anyone about her activities!

When she woke up, the sun was no longer s.h.i.+ning into the living room. She checked the time and found it was already late. And if she did not get prepared now, she would be late for the dinner with Mika.

With that in mind, she quickly went into the bathroom for a quick shower. She did not want to be late.

Jeremy? She would call him tomorrow, after her work. She thought she would be ready by that time to talk with him. Yes, tomorrow would never be late for them to chat.

She did not know where Mika would bring her so to play safe, she put on a dress. It could be worn for both casual and at the same time could be turned into a formal dress with some accessories.

She put the accessories needed into a small black sequins bag.

For makeup, enough just a creamy light pink lipsticks, just enough to give some colours to her face although she prefered none. But she needed to coax Mika and wearing makeup was her way of making Mika happy.

"I'm done," she smiled at the sight of herself in a low ponytail plus lipstick. The dress was not too short, enough to cover her kneecaps. Oh, how she wished she could simply wear her usual jeans but making Mika felt better was her objective now.

She looked for her phone, which she conveniently forgot the past few hours, and saw a few missed calls coming from... gulp... Jeremy.

How did he know she was going to call him but she did not? Did he put a camera here?

"Tomorrow I will talk with you," she told the phone. Despite the attempts from Jeremy to contact her, she was still not ready to face his questions.

She wanted to put the phone on silent but cancelled it. What if Mika contact her to inform about her arrival and she missed it? It would be a disaster!

*~*~*~*

Jeremy glanced at his phone. It was still silent, no ringing or notification coming from it. He groaned and hit the steering wheel with his left hand.

Why didn't she call him like she did Mika? Why she only called Mika?

"Do you truly hate me, Ryn? Do you really have no feeling on me?"

His heart bled at the thought of her no longer love him. Was it that easy to forget the love they shared?

The honks from the back made him realize the light was already green. He scowled and quickly changed the gear to move the car. Although he could not contact her since this morning, it did not stop him from going to her house.

He hoped she would be at home so he could ask her face-to-face what she really felt about him. He knew he should give her more time and take it slowly but he could not wait anymore. His heart was desperate for her and wanted to spend more time with her without hiding it from anyone.

He learned his mistake. He knew one of the reasons why she was hurt during their relations.h.i.+p was him refusing to announce their relations.h.i.+p to everyone. His ego and pride stopped him from seeing the hurt in her heart. He ignored her begging when she told him it would also stop those creepy old men from disturbing her. She wanted his protection but he failed miserably. He forgot to be her boyfriend. The lure of stardom made him forget his responsibility and his promise to her.

He hated the fact that his ego and his pride made him lose her and he was determined to make up his mistakes. He even would stop being in the limelight, would even retire from singing, if she wanted it. He would follow her everywhere she goes, to be her a.s.sistant during her work.

He would do anything for her.

So why wouldn't she give him a second chance? Didn't any of them deserve the second chance in their love?

"You won't do this to me, would you, Ryn?" he muttered.

Then, he stopped abruptly, making those drivers behind him had to hit the emergency brake to avoid hitting him and each other.

Ignoring their curses, he made a left turn and headed toward a tall building not far from there.

He couldn't meet her with empty hands. He should bring something for her.

He could not believe he almost forgot about it. It was a simple and basic thing to do by a boyfriend to his beloved girlfriend!

The first shop he went to was the jewellery shop. It was a jewellery shop selling his sister's brand. He knew all about her creations and knew not all pieces of jewellery in the series, any series were given to Ryn. And there was one particular series he knew and always had the thought to buy for Ryn the moment he saw the preview show.

The women and men working in there greeted him politely. They all knew who he was and wanted to be the one to serve him. One particular woman quickly stepped forward with a wide smile on her face. She even adjusted her walk so it would make her look more womanly, earthly. And somehow the s.h.i.+rt she was wearing loose several b.u.t.tons, revealing her firm round b.r.e.a.s.t.s.

"Welcome, Mr Long. Is there anything I can help you?" her husky voice asked gently, softly.

He c.o.c.ked an eyebrow at her breathless voice and looked at everyone else. Some of the men looked away, trying to pretend they did not know her. The rest of the men just watched with bright eyes, wanting to enjoy the free show. The women just looked at the woman in jealousy. Why didn't they take the first step before her?

The woman waited for him to accept her offer and more. She knew he had no girlfriend so the reason why he came here might be because of... what?

Ignoring the seductive woman, Jeremy walked around her to look at the display rack. He leaned down at the display; rows of bracelets with beautiful designs. Maybe a bracelet did not seem too much for Ryn, right? Or maybe something like...

His eyes landed at the selection of diamond rings. His eyes shone brightly at the thought of Ryn wearing

Then, he snapped and shook his head mentally.

Jeremy, focus!

If he gave the diamond ring to her, regardless whether it was beautiful or expensive, she would reject it on the spot without thinking. Unless she accepted him back, she would not wear a diamond ring from him on her finger.

His eyes trailed toward the bracelets back. The one he had in mind was still available, thank G.o.d, and he quickly pointed at it. One of the men came to bring it out for him when he noticed Jeremy did not want any of the women served him.

Jeremy took the bracelet with a smile curled on his face. Just like he remembered. The design was delicate and beautiful. It was not too thick to make it too obvious in her delicate wrist, but at the same time it would look prettier and she would look more beautiful.

He told the man to box it for him. He did not mind to use his own money buying his little sister's design when he could just tell him to bring in one of her collections.  It would not make him sincere enough if he used his sister to give present to his love.

To show his sincerity and proof his love, he would use his own money to buy gifts and presents for Ryn.

He even had bought a house in Ryn's name. It was a cute bungalow facing the beach in the Maldives. He even bought the beach there to stop anyone from interrupting his love when she went there.

Then, another house in Switzerland, surrounded by beautiful scenery and snow, a lot of snow. If Ryn refused to stay at the beach, she could also spend time in the mountains. She could play ski to her heart content.

Mika did not know about the purchase or she would demand her right to those houses. She would not let Jeremy and Ryn spent time together alone at those houses. She would tag along and where she would be, Jason and maybe his parents would follow too.

They would become the brightened light bulbs in the whole world and he would not allow that!

Enough of that! He would not think about those light bulbs. He should think more about Ryn and only about Ryn.

After he paid the price and got the black velvet bag tied in a golden ribbon, he went to look for another shop. This time he needed a bouquet of flowers.

This time he chose all of the colours for the roses. He did not her to think he was too demanding even though he was desperate. He wanted her to see his sincerity, his love and his vow of making her his one and only wife for the rest of his life.

Now, with all the things needed he had bought, he felt ready to see her. With a smile on his face, he walked... no... skipped toward his car. He put them carefully on the pa.s.senger side and locked the door. It would be a nightmare of a thief stole his presents.

This time, with his heart singing happily, he drove the car toward her apartment. Would she love his presents? She would, right? Although she was such a simple woman who did not care about wealth and status, she was still a woman. She would love to receive gifts from someone she loved, right?

With that thought in his mind, his right foot hit the accelerator a bit harder to make the car even faster. He could not wait to see her and her reaction to his surprise.
