65 Opening

On the other side, several men and women dressed immaculately, each giving off a vibe that could choke a room full of people. Their eyes were focused and sharp ready for the kill, most of them were much older everyone else, but there was no sign of weariness in them. Even if they smiled that of an amiable elderly, when people spoke with them there was always a feeling of a blade above their necks.

But the fight centered between 3 people, princess Eyisha stood on the podium as the main speaker, on the elder's side was Guru and on the n.o.ble's Jyaha. Although she stood there, the attention fell upon these two men. Jyaha was a very troublesome person, on one hand he was a n.o.ble with a t.i.tle that could almost match Eyisha.

He was her uncle and therefore had the right of the t.i.tle of prince. Although he was n.o.bility he hadn't ever been one to shrug off his skills. A few years after her father was named king, he not only garnered many victories under his name and after a time the elder of the merchant guild. After a few years, he gained a plump body that matched his t.i.tle of merchant, but no one doubted his ability to draw blood.

In fact, the only reason he hadn't joined the war effort was because her father had entrusted him with managing the kingdom's affairs while he was gone. The n.o.bles had three times the amount of people as compared to the elders, but the only one who's voice really held any weight was this man which put everything at a stalemate.

Guru had very inconspicuous features, if anyone put him in a crowd of elderly they probably wouldn't be able to point him out, there wasn't even an air around him. Only those who knew who he was would know that if he ever decided to move, heads would roll all over the kingdom faster than they could take the next breathe. But out of all of those present, only Jyaha and a few of the retired generals knew the fear of this man.

"I suggest we just take it from him...He's not of our people anyway, it matters not what his opinions are." Jyaha said, "my only issue is the allocation of the food, even if we get a lot of food from him it won't last our people more than a few months if everyone eats now...." he turned to Guru, as long as he didn't speak a word, there wouldn't be a problem.

"I believe that we should allocate the food by level of importance..." he continued.

"You mean you want to keep more for your faction right?" Eyisha stepped in, "and let me remind you that the man has shown us all goodwill by delivering us the food and all he hasn't posed any request for anything in return... in my opinion..."

"Oh dear princess please don't act like a naive child," Jyaha reb.u.t.ted with great gusto, his voice reverberating throughout the room " n.o.body gives free things in this world, or any world for that matter.... and is there anything wrong with giving more benefits to those that govern the people?"

Instantly the room came into an uproar from the n.o.bilities, "That's right, why should we have to give up our benefits." One of the mobilities said.

"Because we are one people, at this point it's not about who is more improtant but that everyone needs to work together to get through this, I don't believe that any of us can live in any comfort if the warriors or even the villagers are not fed, Everyone has a part to play and we are only as weak as our weakest link...."

The Elder's side began murmuring between themselves at this point. One guild head stood up, his body quite slender except in his arms which fought against the sleeves of his clothes despite him using a loose fitting robe. "I think that it's not wrong to allocate by importance, but depending on what they can bring to the table, like our blacksmith guild or the wood-working guild who is in need right now... Either way, it wouldn't be the turn of you lazy b.u.ms to get your hands on them."

The room went into uproar again... both sides pus.h.i.+ng their opinions.

Eyisha was troubled, she had no backing in the room, although she didn't have to fight everyone on one team but none of them supported her idea of equality either.

At this point a young n.o.ble stepped forward, he was lumbering abit as he was armed to the teeth with jewelry. Chuckling he said "How about we follow the elders suggestion... We give main priority to those with contributions, but for those who don't do anything we kill them to conserve the rest of the food and our side will store the food f..."

The room suddenly turned cold, everyone felt like there was blood in their throat and the taste of iron filled their mouth, it was almost like their necks had just been cut. Jyaha started to sweat, Guru who's eyes always seemed to be closed was opening a little, like a person waking up from a long sleep.

He instantly bowed before him, "Teacher, there's no need to move, I will personally punish him, please calm yourself... someone take him out of here!! I'll deal with him later!!" He cursed in heart, he didn't want to use these dumba.s.ses, but they were the easiest to get on his side. Promise a little more power and position in the future if he turned king and they would follow him harder than religious fanatics.
