314 Are You Sure!?

"You've asked me 12 times in the last minute!" Zhao Wei audibly grumbled.

"Well I'm sorry for being curious for what may be a suicide mission! So by all means, don't humor me!" Moto-tsune chided.

"Fine! How many times do I have to say I'm sure until you believe that I'm sure!?" An exasperated Zhao Wei rolled his eyeb.a.l.l.s. How'd a guy so cowardly gain a leading position in the army was a question for the ages.

"Umm... Seven!" Moto-tsune finally thought it through. His eyes were a little wet, either because the wind was pummeling his face and stinging his eyes or he was apologizing to his parents for not living a more prosperous life that probably would've kept him far away from situations like this.

"That's quite the random number."

"First you complain about me asking questions, then you ask for a number and you complain about the number... Anything else you want to complain about!?"

"Well, I was complaining less about you asking questions and more about you... asking.. the same....." Zhao Wei stopped his train of thought and sentence when he saw Moto-tsune giving a glare that said 'I will crash this thing, I dare you.' "Ya know what, just wondering why 7, No Complaints! just.. wondering."

"Two to help me lie to myself! Two so I don't get cold feet and turn this thing around at the very last second.." He explained.

"What's the other three for?"

"I'm getting to that, the last three is to tell G.o.d that I actually believed you when you a.s.sured me 19 times that this would work so that he won't send me to h.e.l.l for suicide!" Moto-tsune answered.

"You believe in that!?"

"No! But going at 150km/h at two warring armies on top of an open ATV seems a good time as any to find faith!" Moto-tsune pushed the throttle to it's limits as they closed in on the rear of the clas.h.i.+ng armies.

"No complaints here!" Zhao Wei propped himself up on the back seat, ready to lunge at a moments notice.

They needed to get to the deepest part of the war they could reach as fast as possible, and that could prove more difficult considering they weren't exactly affiliated with either army and therefore were fair game for both sides.

Whilst that was going on, Zhao Wei's mind and will were pus.h.i.+ng themselves to the utmost limit. He was trying to combine as many wrap traps as he could muster into one gigantic rune.

Despite being much stronger than he was in his battle against the Jormugandr, he found that this activity was maybe even a little more taxing than the first time he did it. For one, the limits of his mana was way higher, just the capacity of his wrap traps alone now accounted for more than all the traps he had back then.

And the act of choosing which one's he would combine wasn't exactly like a game of Tinder. 'Swipe right to like trap and swipe left for nope.' He had to exert some effort in sorting through them and pulling them out one by one and combine them.

That first time, he was half dead from all he had been through that the pain didn't matter anymore. This time, he actually felt the strain it put on him each time he needed to do this.

And he could've waited on the side and prepared it first, but by the time he was done, probably hundreds more would've died. And maybe that was an excuse he was telling himself now because he was in denial about not thinking the plan through first before they were both barreling straight into enemy lines.

"Are you sure about this!?" Moto-tsune shouted at him.

"Yes!" Zhao Wei answered.

"Fifth!" Moto-tsune counted as they were less than half a kilometer away. "Are you sure about this!?"

"Yes!" 350 meters away.

"Sixth! Are you sure about this!?"

"Yes!" 200 meters away.

"Okay last one! are you sure about this!?"

50 meters away.

"You know what, on second thought I'm gonna have to say no!" Zhao Wei answered.

"What!?" A startled Moto-tsune turned back to look at him hoping he was joking. The look of nervous uncertainty on Zhao Wei's face told him other wise.

5 meters away.

"Oh well! Too late now!" Zhao Wei shrugged as the both of them entered the war.
