188 Black Tail

Only problem was, in a fight with immortal people on both sides, did it really matter how fast one side beat down the other? Those who were taken down just kept coming back. And though the seven precursors were several notches higher, the newcomers still managed to land some pretty solid hits on their bodies, tearing off chunks that instantly replaced itself.

Seeing this, Zhao Wei pulled Grendolyn on his back and began to climb up the walls and onto the ceiling, slowly moving himself above the warring crowd beneath. The battle was ugly and yet strangely anticlimactic, to Zhao Wei as he watched them from above.

It took less than a minute for him to reach the other side, thinking he got them all fooled. Through all his encounters and while he was watching them, he was gathering information on them, slowly but surely compiling their traits in his mind like one of his prey.

But just as he jumped down the whole fight suddenly stopped and everyone turned to look at him and then at Grendolyn who was on his back. "Hey guys..." Grendolyn timidly waved. Then she latched onto Zhao Wei and screamed, "Run!"

To their surprise, the larger group didn't chase them, opting to instead stop the seven who were trying to break through. Zhao Wei barely made any distance before a large roar echoed through the s.p.a.ce, Gary was here.

Once she stepped in, she was taking care of the crowd like n.o.body's business, and though they could continuously regenerate it still broke down their formation enough for two of the precursors to break through and chase Zhao Wei and Grendolyn.

Just as Zhao Wei was figuring out what to do, he spotted a black tail dangling from a small s.p.a.ce above and held on as it pulled them upwards. And like before, in mere seconds from under them the two precursors pa.s.sed by. Zhao Wei turned and was quite happy to see a familiar face.

"#n! you have no idea what I've, been through." Zhao Wei breathed out in relief.

"I think I might have some idea..."Thirteen answered back. "We should hurry though, those guys will come around any moment."

Hours later, in the scene of the fight, the precursors including Gary were cleaning up the mess. All those attackers had their limbs pulled off and were now struggling in a pile together as Gary continued the process on their companions.

"Any idea which sector they're from?" Gren9 asked as she entered the room.

"No, they seem to be a mix from several." Another Gren replied.

"And the kidnapper?" She said as she pressed her temples.

"It's most likely the guy who escaped from the testing room, but he was helped from the outside, probably the miss."

"Haaa..." Gren9 rubbed her face, "That girl's going to be the death of me."

"Gren12, Gren 16, clean them up." Gren9 ordered while giving them a look of disdain.

"Should we break them down?" Gren12 responded.

Gren9 pondered for a moment before continuing, "No, just put them aside. The experiments are coming along, once it's done they can be the first subjects."

"Gary," She called towards the seriously working giant. "Catch Gren17 for me please."

From the group of seven, six of them turned towards one person. She went pale almost instantly as she turned to try and run. But it was much too late as a hand had already caught onto her torso.

"What do you want me to do?" Gary's voice boomed as she turned to look at Gren9, the girl in her hands struggling violently to get free as she smashed her hands on Gary's fingers repeatedly to no avail.

"I did nothing wrong!" She screamed as Gary's fingers were curled around her arm.

"Oh, but weren't you the one who put him in the testing room in the first place? You know the miss's abilities an yet you put him right in her lap, if you'd just thrown him in a cage with a lock and key this wouldn't have happened." As she finished she turned to Gary and nodded who responded by pulling the girl's arm off. "Throw her in with the rest." On that note she left the clean up for the rest to do.
