141 The First Roar

He'd never been under the influence of the Death wish poison in the first place, his toxic resistance wouldn't allow it. He was just extremely weak from the blood loss and injuries. "Now, Myra please get her out of here..."

"No! NO!" Kitsi face contorted in grief as her shadow began to turn into an inky black liquid which swallowed her in.

When she was gone, he fell down again. That last stand was just so he could worry her less, hoping to show her that he still had enough energy. Luckily, Myra was obedient and took her away just in time.

Chora was right, this was not a permanent solution. He had it trapped right now with all of it stuck to it's body, but if it continued to break it down, it'd be on the hunt again. By then, the civilians wouldn't be far enough and it'd catch up in no time. He couldn't move anymore, so he'd hold this position as long as he could, activating his Tantra to the fullest extent, filling all those shackles to the brim until he was left laying on the floor.

As he turned around, he saw the eyes of Jormugandr locked onto his own, clearly it understood that all the trouble it went to get here was caused by this one small creature. It moved forward and took a sniff of the air, unwilling to take another loss.

Seeing nothing else however, it began to move forward. Mouth open ready to finally swallow Zhao Wei whole while the man in question didn't even twitch as he saw the mouth coming towards him.

When it was about 70 meters away it came to a stop, feeling pain in it's mouth, but it wasn't able to move backwards due to all the weight it was lugging around. If it did, it would see a single long flaming silk trap nestled between it's jaws, cutting into it.

Zhao Wei on the other hand could only smile. Although he was on the floor his fingers on his right hand were pressing something below him, it was the trigger trap. The inertia from all that weight wasn't easy to stop even if it'd been moving a little slower, the serpen'ts head was being pushed farther and farther towards the sharp line.

But at the same time, the wire was bending. It wasn't meant for this kind of work, the flaming silk trap was most effective against weak armor and flesh while the scales of around the mouth of this beast were already as thick as fortress walls.

This was why he needed to be here. The trigger trap, activated the traps through a distance, but more importantly it created a connection so to say between him and the trap itself. By being connected to the trigger, he was able to continuously siphon mana into the flaming silk trap, allowing it to retain it's form under the immense pressure and weight while slowly but surely cutting into the snake.

But the consumption was immense, it was why he was staying so close, as the farther he was, the more mana was lost in the transfer, he needed to conserve every single drop to hold the wire from breaking before it killed the beast.

At this moment, he experienced the first roar. It was like a wall going at 100 kilometers per hour hit him and then encased his whole body. It reverberated through out his body, resonating with it, breaking it apart from the inside. Around him the buildings that were hit by the force broke down almost instantly, if the shackles didn't hold him down, he'd already be blown far away.

The roar lasted 10 seconds, but it felt like a year to Zhao Wei as he was bleeding from every orifice on his body. Once it was done, he had to spit up a lot of blood that built up in his mouth from his mouth, "Hehe... is that all your big a#$ has?" the injury on his back flooding the floor with fluid, his broken left hand and right leg felt the most of it as the injured areas were shaken to the core.

If it had to be compared to anything, it was when a dentist was dealing with cavities, putting his little drill against the teeth which generated a shrill sound that would vibrate all the way down to the jaw. Now imagine the sensation being dialed up a thousand times, drill replaced by a several hundred ton snake, and the teeth being the whole human body.

It was the first time it hit him and yet he was already seeing the doors of death open up, h.e.l.l it was so painful he p.i.s.sed himself and no one could ever tell him he was less of a man for it unless they wanted to trade places with him at this moment.

But he continued to maintain the trap regardless, even when he knocked out for a while his body refused to let go of the trigger. He knew, when the serpent pulled this move out, it wasn't showing it's might, it was showing him that even it felt pain.
