126 Awake

Behind it, the shack as well as Zhao Wei's carriage was released from Myra's shadow. Unfortunately she wasn't able to communicate with Myra the way Zhao Wei seemed to be able to and was dropped off with Kitsi a few hundred meters away before being left to rejoin her master.

If it was Zhao Wei there would be no problem as he somehow hid a ridiculous strength within his lean looking body. But she wasn't a strength type, she was an a.s.sa.s.sin for G.o.d's sake!! How was she supposed to bring Kitsi in?

She was only ten!! The Tantra she'd been able to acc.u.mulate until now wasn't able to enhance her small, child body by that much. Her Tantra hadn't even taken form yet, that's why her knives were always coated in poison. The requirements of her job relied only on infiltration, hiding and a killing stroke, if she met an older Tantra user with head on, she'd be in quite a troublesome position.

Reluctantly she could only pull the mattress Kitsi was lying on meter by meter. Then dragging her up to the second floor of the shack, in her heart she gave a little thanks to Zhao Wei for making a ramp instead of stairs.

Once they reached the room, Thirteen was so ragged she just dropped on the mattress next to Kitsi. Looking at the ceiling she spoke, "how long are you going to pretend to be asleep?"

Kitsi's eye shot open, "So you knew the whole time?"

"Of course I did, your breathing rhythm changed so many times you were either acting or dying." Thirteen commented.

"Oh..." Kitsi seemed troubled on what she should say, "um... I'll take note of that for next time."

"You expect a next time!?" Thirteen looked at her in vexation.

"Sorry! I meant um..." Kitsi jolted into a sitting position followed by a yelp as her wounds stretched. She wanted to explain her earlier blunder, but she really couldn't find the words to redeem herself, "I really did black out back there for a moment..." she finally decided to say.

"Yeah..." Thirteen just nodded along.

"Thanks though..." Kitsi said.

"Don't mention it, you weren't that hard to bring here." She tried to play it tough.

"That's a lie... you do remember I was awake the whole time." Kitsi rebuffed her causing her to blush. "But that's not I want to thank you about, it's when you didn't tell him why I knocked out."

"Mmm..." Thirteen said as she turned her body sideways to avoid looking at Kitsi. "Well I felt your heart rate get more erratic when I started talking about it so I decided it would be better to stop." Thirteen explained.

"That's a lie too, you did it for him didn't you?" Thirteen remained silent, "regardless of whether you admit it or not I do have to thank you... that man always puts the responsibility on his own shoulders, he probably already blames himself for me getting interrogated, I didn't want him to have another burden by thinking he caused me to collapse, he's too kind that way... always putting the burdens on his own back."

"And too troublesome..." Thirteen murmured.

Kitsi smiled weakly, "yes that may be true."

As she said so she felt her s.h.i.+rt get ripped off! Covering her exposed chest, she screamed.

"What are you screaming for!?" Thirteen asked her as she threw away the dirty s.h.i.+rt.

"What do you want to do to me?" She asked blus.h.i.+ng. "I don't really swing that way but since you helped me I.. I.."

Veins couldn't help but bulge on Thirteen's forehead, "What are you talking about? Didn't we come here to clean your wounds?"

"Oh.. right.." Kitsi reminded herself.

Thirteen stood up and picked up and picked up some alcohol and a clean cloth, dowsing it until it was drenched. As Thirteen walked towards Kitsi she became a little nervous.

"Could you be gentle with it..." she asked.

Thirteen's mouth which was always flat curved up a little on the edges, "Now where would the fun be if we did that..." she said.

Subconsciously Kitsi began to shuffle backwards.

Eyisha stood alone in front of her own courtyard. The night's breeze flirted past her, her hair swaying to the wind.

She seemed relaxed, and maybe for the first time in a while... she was. She checked her straps another time making sure the armor stuck close to her body and playfully spun the trident in her hand.

"You know, it's weird." She said. "Whenever I send people to do the job I always become restless, I think I may prefer to always be on the front line."

In the dark a voice answered her, "Well that's true, I never really took you for a schemer."

"What if I was? Maybe I'd have caught you the past few times?" She chuckled.

"Well it's too late to think about that now isn't it?" The moonlight s.h.i.+fted, illuminating the source of the voice.

"My guards?" She asked.

"Knocked out but alive..." he replied.

"My life?" Her next question came.

"Not really... but I don't think I can speak the same for you, can I?" Zhao Wei smirked.

"Unfortunately not." She smiled back, but in the next moment her trident disappeared.
