Chapter 196 - On That Fateful Day

Feng Xinying was shocked. Immediately she bowed to him and smiled. "Good evening uncle. I didn't know who you are," she replied with a polite smile.

"Not all Feng Xinying. I am happy to serve Feng Zhantian's daughter. I was eagerly waiting for this moment to meet you," said Su Haobing. For him Feng Xinying was someone whom he had waited for a long time and had managed to keep the entire facility up and running. She was Master Zhantian's daughter, the only legitimate heir and hence he was automatically bound to serve her. For him it was like a dream come true to see his daughter in front of him.

"I know that Su Lang has already filled in most of the details to you. There is nothing more I can add here, but you can be rest a.s.sured that people here who are being trained - some of them are being specially trained only for you. So whenever you need help, you can bank on us," he said. "And if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me."

Feng Xinying bowed to him again. She opened her room and went inside. Then she pointed a chair to Su Haobing for him to sit down. Once he sat, she asked, "Was my mother's accident a planned one or was it actually an accident only?"

Su Haobing sighed, "Those days Feng Zhantian was into a number of problems. His enemies were trying to pull him down. Whoever he trusted, was going against him, as they wanted to pull him down. There was this man whom he trusted a lot. Your mother and his wife were very good friends. Your mother used to visit her a lot, and she used to take you along with her because her friend had two sons. The younger one was only a year older than you and the two of you played a lot together."

"How do you know?" asked Feng Xinying, getting intrigued.

"Because I used to drive your mother and you to her house often for security purposes," he replied.

Feng Xinying's eyes were wide. Su Haobing knew her from so long yet he never revealed his true ident.i.ty even when she was growing up. That was the level of dedication. He worked in shadows.

"However, we could never imagine that the husband of your mother's friend would betray his trust. He planned the accident in which the brakes of your mother's car were tampered with. In the accident both you and your mother had to die.

"On that fateful day, your mother had gone to see her friend. I had dropped you all and then left for an urgent work in another car. That man took the opportunity and tampered with the brakes. He left soon after to his office and waited for the news.

"But karma is a b.i.t.c.h. If you dig a hole for someone, you can also fall in it. That day when your mother left along with the driver, even his wife came along, as she had to go to the market. As per the plan, the car steered out of control when the driver tried to stop it on the expressway and it overturned. Your mother, his wife and the driver were killed instantly. It was a very bad crash… Your mother saved you as she had covered you completely around your seat."

Feng Xinying's eyes were br.i.m.m.i.n.g with tears. Her father had suppressed all those details from her. If by chance she hadn't come to this facility, she would have never come to know about Su Haobing and her past.

"What about the sons of my mother's friend? Did he also die?" she asked as a tear left her eye.

"No, they both survived because they had to be taken to swimming lessons."

"What did father do when he came to know about it?" she asked. Now her tears had begun to wet her cheeks.

"Your father rushed to the spot and the first thing he did was to take you out of that wreck by personally entering the car, in which no one was entering because the petrol tank was also damaged and the petrol was leaking out. No one dared to enter because they were afraid that it might explode any moment. However, it was your father who entered the car when he heard your cries and pulled you out."

Feng Xinying sobbed. The way she had treated her father was simply terrible but she could never understand him. He was always hiding his emotions from her. Was it to protect her or was he like that? No wonder he always told her to never trust anyone other than her own self.

Su Haobing noticed his young miss and stayed silent. It was important that she knew about the past.

After a while, she wiped her tears and asked with a steely expression, "I am sure father must have killed that so-called friend of his."

"Yes, he was killed the next day."
