104 Chapter 103: Battle Of Beetham Tower 9

The woman was confused at first as to why the person in front of her was calling her "cousin" but when she heard him the second time, it finally dawned upon her that the voice was very familiar to her and the the figure of someone appeared within her mind.

"Leo? Is that you!?" the woman also exclaimed in shocked as both her hands covered her mouth as tears streamed down on her face.

"Yes its me! This..I've been looking for you a few weeks back but I wasn't able to find you. I also went to your apartment but you weren't there. I even went to Leeds to look for you where you were recently a.s.signed as you've said before but...wasn't that you were actually here..trapped" Leo suddenly choked on his words, he felt confused as to why he was getting too emotional right now but then memories started flas.h.i.+ng in his mind. It was the memories of the previous Leo and only then did he understand why.

The woman in front of her was Luna, his only cousin and the only relative that Leo knows according to the memories of the previous Leo. Luna was orphaned when she was seven when her parents died in an accident and ever since then she had lived with the Wood Family and was treated by both Leo and Aria as an older sister who was five years older than Leo.

"You...y-you've changed a lot in just a few short weeks. You're now someone capable of fighting multiple mutated zombies and what the is that Combat Armor you're wearing earlier? I'm not s- *cough*cough*" Luna suddenly started coughing coa.r.s.ely.

"Here, water" Leo acted like he was taking out a bottled water from his bag he picked up earlier and pa.s.sed it over to Luna, whose eyes immediately lit up and hastily took the bottled water from Leo and immediately opened it as she downed the water in one go!

"Here" Leo said as he pa.s.sed over a wrapped chocolate flavor ice cream cone to his cousin who immediately took and greedily suck and bite on the ice cream like she hadn't tasted ice cream in ages.

"So good~!" Luna moaned in delight while closing her eyes like she just tasted the most wonderful food in the world even though it was just ice cream in the end.

Leo just smiled at her and watch her every movements like a sneaky reporter.

Luna finally snapped out of her reverie when she finally realized the situation she's currently in and when she saw Leo grinning at her, she suddenly lowered her head and blushed in embarra.s.sment.

"It's good to see you again, Luna" Leo said smiling.

"Me too, you've really changed a lot" Luna smiled.

Leo then slowly walked towards her and gave her a tight hug, "Mom, would be really happy to see you".

"Thank you" Luna said smiling as tears of joy streamed down her face as she felt like a huge boulder was suddenly lifted off of her shoulders the moment she felt Leo's hug.

"Come on. We'll catch up later. At the second floor, my men are stationed there just look for someone named Isaac, okay?" Leo said to her after telling the situation to Isaac.

"This...what about you then?" Luna said worriedly. After all, for her it felt like years had pa.s.sed when she hid on the small room just to survived in this chaos, especially when the first person she saw for almost two months was her cousin at that so she can't help but feel a bit worried.

"It's fine, you already saw it. I can handle 'them' fine" Leo gave her a rea.s.suring smile before he took out his sidearm from his waist, a Glock 22 and handed it over to her along with another magazine round.

"Just in case" Leo smiled and subconsciously patted her head before turning back and headed towards the next floor.

Looking at the Leo who was slowly disappearing towards the staircase, Luna opened her mouth wanting to say something but in the end she just sighed because she knows how stubborn her cousin is even if she tries to persuade him to go with her.

"Please be safe" Luna prayed, worried because she doesn't want anything bad to happen to Leo because she wouldn't have the face to see Leo's parents if that happens.

There was a reason why she was this worried even when she already witnessed Leo's strength earlier. It was because there are a lot of mutated zombies the higher the floor someone goes up. She wanted to tell but in the end, didn't. She knows that Leo would just shrugged it off.

Well, if Leo knows what his cousin is currently thinking right now then he would probably coldly laugh and quote, "My Combat Suit is like a bug in a computer system that has a life like a super c.o.c.kroach that can't be squashed even if you wanted to"

Luna sighed to herself and looked towards the staircase where Leo disappeared into and thought to herself, 'I would have fallen for you if you weren't my cousin for saving me and any other girl would have felt the same. After all, no women could resist liking the man who had saved them from despairing moments'.

In the end, she just followed what Leo said and slowly made her way towards the second floor and the good thing was she still has the strength to walk on her own, this was the reason why Leo didn't escort her or told Isaac to bring people to get her down.

At first, Luna was very cautious with the pistol in her hand at the ready to shoot anything that moves towards her way while making her way down to the second floor but a couple of floors later, she finally let her guard down as she the multiple corpses of zombies littered at every floor she pa.s.sed by.

"Yes mom. I finally found Luna" Leo said smiling.

"Really!? Thank G.o.d! That's great news!" a joyous voice sounded at the earpiece of Leo.

"You make sure you bring her back safe, okay!? She really worried me to death..I-I though she's already gone" Rachel voice's coming from the earpiece started sounding as she tried to keep her emotions in check.

"anyway! Make sure you bring back! If even a hair is missing in her head! You're dead!" Rachel's voice stuttered a bit before her blaring voice sounded at the earpiece

"Yes, yes" Leo just smiled bitterly.

"Alright, you take of yourself over there, okay? Don't overdo things and if you need to retreat then retreat, don't force your way in" Rachel said and the communication was already cut off before Leo could even say a thing.

"Okay~ mom" Leo said laughing.

He then just shook his head and mumbled to himself, "Why do people always say those things just to make sure they sounded harsh. Geez, it's not like you would even know if someone really lose a hair if you didn't see it for yourself".
