"No matter how much stronger I've gotten thanks to Avenger, there's no guarantee I'll be able to penetrate its skin. It’s made even more implausible because of the blood whips coming out of its stomach."

The blood whips were quick, powerful, and contained strong magic, so they were resistant to even magical attacks. He thus concluded that the whips weren’t terribly resilient against physical damage.
