as Viktor started chanting Alice nocked an arrow while moving slowly towards the demon

"HEY! you're not supposed to be here! are you not aware of the treaty!"

aiming an arrow towards demon, Alice tried to de escalate the situation by mentioning the current peace treaty between demons and humankind.

"***! **** *** *** *****? ** *** *******!"

appearing scarred, the demon moved a few backwards while keep its hands above its head

"****, *** ** ****** **** *****"

putting its hand on the mask it was wore, the demon tried to remove the mask on its face, with no apparent effect.

"what the h.e.l.l is it doing, Viktor do you know?"

looking back, Alice asked Viktor how knew a lot more about demons than her.

"i don't know, but i'm not sure that's demon tongue, i'm not so sure it's a demon Alice it has no horns or tail and i don't see any tribal markings, it might not be a demon"

"are you sure?

"pretty sure, and it doesn't seem hostile anyway"

"huh, okay let's try talking instead"

just as Alice started to relax a loud metallic voice came from the demon that made her blood freeze, and as she turned her head back towards the demon she accidently released the arrow she had ready.

"oh s.h.i.+t!"

as the arrow flew towards the demon, Alice felt time slow down while her brain went into overdrive. the arrow did not hit however, the second it was within range, the demon flicked it away, like swatting away a fly.

before she noticed, the demon had drawn a strange looking wand and pointed it at Viktor. seenseing the immediate danger, Alice tried to warn Viktor, but before she could other a single word, a loud ear-shattering sound interrupted her. at the same time something hit a rock behind Viktor, shattering it and fragmenting rock fragments all over the place.

"what the h.e.l.l was that!? are you okay!?"

"i'm fine! that was probably high tier magic but i don't know the element! distract it while i chant!"

"got it!"

after shooting another arrow at the demon Alice trew her bow away and rushed the demon while drawing her sword, and immediately after the demon flicked away the arrow again Alice jumped forward at the demon, trusting her sword with the entire force of her body.

"yeah! how you like th"

her attack did not connect however, as the demon simply stopped the trust with the palm of its empty hand before tossing the strange wand in the air and using its now free hand to hit Alice in the stomach, sending her flying until she hit a tree behind Viktor with a dull sound and stopped moving.

"ALICE! how dare you!"

having finished chanting, Viktor hit the base base of his staff against the ground, spreading a runic yellow light pattern out around him

"EAT THIS!"

pulling his staff out of the grund and pointing it at the demon while the ground around him shattered, and three large shards of rock covered in yellow runes flew out the ground towards the demon. just having caught the strange wand again, the demon sidestepped the first rock with minimal movements while a series or loud bangs rang out and the other rocks desindigraded mid air before hitting the demon. now ejecting some sort of container from the wand before replacing it with a new one from a pouch.

"s.h.i.+t!"

feeling the imminent danger from that action, Viktor once again hit the bottom of his staff against the ground and increasing the intensity of the yellow light around him, and a wall of earth about 5 meters high appeared out the ground between Viktor and the demon, and not a second to late. first another series of loud sounds rang out, followed by the sound of rocks shattering on the other side of the wall

"NOW TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE!"

this time Viktor charged the gem in his staff and smashed it against the earth wall, making runes spread across it, and a second later the wall shattered, turning i hail made of rock shards and small boulders that completely decimated the forest in front of Viktor.

"Alice! are yo-"

not even getting the time to ask if Alice was okay, Viktor was suddenly kicked in the head and lost consciousness as the same time his neck shattered. the demon had sensed the attack coming and had jumped over the earth spell, kicking Viktor in the head as it landed.

"uhg *cough* what happened?"

waking up while coughing up blood, Alice felt that most of her ribs were shattered but she had couldn't move her legs and her whole body screamed out in pain. remembering what had happened, Alice looked for Viktor, but what she saw only terrified her. the demon stood above the lifeless body of Viktor, with his head bent the wrong way.

"NOOO! VIKTOR! *cough* YOU f.u.c.kING b.a.s.t.a.r.d! WHAT THE f.u.c.k DID YOU DO TO HIM!?"

as if responding to Alice the demon stabbed its hand into the chest of Viktor, making his body twitch.

"f.u.c.kING DEMON!!"

pulling its b.l.o.o.d.y hand out of Viktor, the demon stood up and started walking towards Alice, slowly as if i didn't have a care in the world.

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS, f.u.c.kING DEMON?! WHAT DID WE EVER DO TO YOU?!!!"

with her face twisting in anger while tears rolled down her face, mixing with the blood she kept coughing up, Alice tried in vain to stand up but she couldn't, when she hit the tree a branch had priced her back and hit her spine, paralyzing her from the hip down. the last thing she saw was the fist of the demon robbing her of consciousness as it punched her in the face.
