104 Hostile Contact 3

["Busy!"]

"s.h.i.+t! Lux we have contact! Iris too!"

["Same here! Draw out the fight I'll be there as soon as possible!"]

"f.u.c.k! A simultaneous attack huh?"

Regretting that she didn't bring her rifle after all Terra dodged another knife meant for her face as she closed the range sword in hand. The person that had thrown the knifes at Terra immediately recognized as mercenary hailing from the great plains south of the eastern Empire, a group of nomads called As'li that specialized in killing mages and other hard targets to bring fame wealth and fortune to their tribe and unique fighting style. The As'li in question wore a blue and pure white woven scarf that covered some kind of full plate helmet while a traditional heavy cloak filled with embroidering and specialized weaponry

"Lilly don't use magic!"

"Too late."

Speaking in a relaxed manner the mercenary simply tapped one of his boots at the ground as a the distorted sound of a bell rang out and every person in the room expect Terra and the mercenary fell to the ground, some of them screamed out in pain while most of them just straight up pa.s.sed out from the pain. The reason why Terra weren't affected was because she recognized her opponent and acted accordingly, in an instant she purged all mana from her body so it couldn't be used to hurt her, unlike everyone else that had seen an attack coming and acted as they taught was correct.

"You know what I am? You're smart."

Sounding slightly intrigued by the fact that Terra wasn't affected by his disruption of the local mana the mercenary drew short sword with a unusually wide handguard to meet Terra's strike.

"Unusually strong too, are you really a humankin?"

Drawing a dagger with his other hand that he held in a reverse grip the mercenary proved insanely hard for Terra to get a solid hit on as he wore armor under his normal clothing that protected him from any grazing hits Terra could land.

"But your swordsmans.h.i.+p is lacking, like you've put it off for a little while.."

"Well thanks for the diagnostic!"

As the mercenary exchanged blows with Terra in a relaxed manner he made sure to continue his disruption spell, but Lilly was starting to get used to the effects.

"My f.u.c.king head.."

"Lilly are you good?"

While exchanging blows and mostly being forced back by the mercenary Terra picked up a faint whimper from Lilly behind her.

"Not really.. My nose is bleeding."

"Seems like your friend over there is especially sensitive to my disruption, how about this then?"

Lilly spoke so faint that even Terra with her greatly enhanced hearing bearly picked it up, but the As'li seemed to hear her perfectly, that or he reacted based on Terra's facial expression. His response to the new information was swift, efficient and brutal. Creating a small gap between himself and Terra he reached under his cloak and trew small knives coated in some sort of green liquid.

"f.u.c.k!"

Seeing the throwing knives fly towards Lilly Terra weakened her defenses for a split second, and that was all the veteran mercenary needed.

"You're open."

Trapping Terra's sword in his handguard he drew it away form Terra and robbed her of defence as he flipped his dagger into a normal grip and stabbed it at chest as he used strengthening magic for the first time doing the fight.

"You talk too f.u.c.king much!"

Blocking the dagger with her own arm Terra caught the blade between her Ulna and Radius bones in her forearm and twisted them to lock the blade in place as she wrestled it free form the mercenary that was caught slightly off guard. With the same movement she robbed the As'li of his dagger Terra placed a turning kick in his center of ma.s.s and sent him flying.

"Lilly!"

"Calm down child, this is not the first time I've been poisoned by such attacks."

Lilly had seen the attack coming and blocked the knife with her arm that had only received a shallow cut as not much force had been put into the knife throw. Realizing immediately that the knife blade was coated in poison Lilly applied as much force as she could on the pulse vain in her armpit and blocked off circulation back into her heart.

"Hurry up with the potion already! My arm is turning blue."

"Right!"

Snapping Terra out of her momentary panic she grabbed a vaill of greymatter from her belt that she quickly stabbed into Lilly's arm. The results were immediate, almost instantly Lilly's wound started healing as the green poison was expelled out through her cut and skin.

"This really is a wonderful medicine."

"That's only a stopgap, the nanomachines took some of your muscle and skin tissue to plug the hole, if you move too much it's going to tear again. More importantly we need a gameplan."

"I already have one, it's called rip this f.u.c.king douche ap"

"Lilly!"

Mid sentence Lilly suddenly fell to her knees as her legs started shaking uncontrollably.

"Seems like it's working."

"What did you do!?"

"Don't worry, it's just a paralyzing agent. My orders are to capture any weak minded individuals for interrogation, come quietly elver and I won't kill your friend."

Drawing new weapons from under his coat the mercenary appeared completely unaffected by Terra's kick as he started approaching once more.

"Can you really protect your friend while she's in that state?"

(I'm so f.u.c.ked!)

From what Terra had a.s.sessed the As'li was somewhere around Lux's level and so far he appeared to only be toying around with her, she was in deep s.h.i.+t, and Terra herself knew that.

(I can't leave Lilly behind, but at the same time that's my best chance of winning against this type of opponent, what the f.u.c.k should I… That's it!)

Getting more and more desperate in her train of thought Terra scrambled to find any paice of wisdom that would give her the advantage. Reaching behind her back Terra equipped her Guardian 332 PDW and pointed it towards the mercenary that instantly took cover behind a table he flipped over. Using that gap Terra sheathed her shortsword and picked Lilly up in a princess carry, then quickly smashed through a window to escape outside the guild.

"... Smart prey."

Realizing that he had been outsmarted Daniel sheathed his weapons and pulled out a crystal that he channeled some mana into.

"We're still all alive.. Then I should just proceed with my hunt."

After checking the status of his allies Daniel dashed out the window his targets had escaped from and quickly picked up the trail once more.
