30 Fleeting Hope

Near the flooded coast, within the ensuing chaos, already wounded members of the Throne Restorer's panicked. Departing from the sh.o.r.e, the exact moment, the crystallized barrier strengthened. Considering their allegiance to G.o.d Zarieun, Forest G.o.d always expressed resentments towards them.

"That monster, what is happening within the forest?" Falling on deck, the platoon members stared up towards the gigantic whale hovering over them.

"It must be the Forest G.o.d."

"Hurry, he might come after us."

"Why is The Forest G.o.d still resides in this world? When all other G.o.ds vanished many thousands of years ago!"

"You Idiots how can a whale be Forest G.o.d?"

"Disregard their idiocy, just turn west, I must meet grandfather Westwall," the young lieutenant ordered the s.h.i.+pwright noticing the platoons panicked state.

Within the forest, Rais laid down unconscious. A dense green aura caused his body to glow while forcing the curse mark on his right shoulder into submission.

The Forest G.o.d witnessed the spectacle. The Divine Tree also joined him, transforming the scorched ground around Rias into lush greenery.

"Yeeeah! He got it under control. Uncle, is the tiny baby human?"

"Certainly, Young Lord, though he holds something unimaginable within his body."

"That spirit seal, his enemy hunts him because of it?"

"No, before he held something much greater."

"Uncle, please tell me what it is?"

"A guess is all I have, Lord Lrnsaion. Uncle will surely inform you once he is certain."

"Uncle, are you not going to check what triggered the spirit seal?"

"No, would I be any different from the people that cursed him? Besides, I have a mission entrusted by Master Szronix. I invite not more problems than I already have."

"What! A problem for you?"

"Yes, the people seeking to eliminate him are truly problematic... Also, Young Lord, you owe him, since he nearly died before you."

"Sorry, I won't be careless anymore."

"Young Lord, sorry represent, more than words from someone of your power. Considering his loss, please grant him ten more arcane runes so tiny baby can present them to whomever he desires."

"But uncle, tiny baby isn't from the forest tribes."

"Certainly, Young Lord, however sometimes, you do what your heart wants. So do you want to follow the rule or do you want to do what is right?"

"Thank you, uncle; I will give it to him."

"Also, bless him with one of the fruits from the Divine Tree to test his potential."

"Uncle, the tiny baby will die."

"Matter not, Lord, the curse is still there. he only gained a few months after triggering the spirit seal."

"I will miss the tiny baby when he dies."

"I will too."

Finally freeing herself from the light restrainment, Anila became baffled; though she immediately placed the rune seal crafted by the Grandmaster on Rais. She reasoned that the Forest G.o.d must have done something, without discerning the curse had originated from an absolute ability; and the Forest G.o.d's inability to do anything against it. Although his body steadily recovered within the green glow, Rais still resembled a burned piece of charcoal.

A huge weight lifted off her chest as her complexion recovered slightly. Picking up the three sealing accessories, she became very emotional. Although their restraining effect diminished, they represent something more to her. Placing them on Rais again, Anila looked into his crimson ruby-like eyes without a slight surprise.

She stared up to prevent the water from falling.

Once they dried, she looked down to see his ruby eyes turning back to amber. Soon the intricate pattern faded as well, but the jade-green aura lingered. Picking him up, she teleported within the house.

Immediately after Anila vanished, the crystallized dome shattered to rain down into the forest. With the crystal, the mad spirits rushed down. Seeing no sign of Rais, they began to fight among themselves. While some clever ones turned back, recognizing their location, others kept searching for the energy source.

"Welcome, since all of you have come, why return so fast? I didn't say any of you could leave," hearing the ancient voice, the spirits became terrified.

"Here I thought the spirits had forgotten about me, so I thank you for visiting me," the ancient voice once again sounded through the mind of every spirit.

Noticing The Divine Lightning Deer approach them, the terrified spirits fled scattering in every direction. Instantly the horn branched into the sky, to mercilessly pierce through every creature. The spirits became paralyzed from violent lightning discharging onto them. Hanging in the night sky, they resembled berries on a ma.s.sive tree.

"Don't let any of them escape."

The green fire skeleton stepped down to the ground from the deer and opened its mouth. The skull and bones on its upper body snapped open, resembling outer petals of a flower. It became eccentric and started laughing maniacally. The green tree veins came out of its stomach and swallowed everything in the sky at once.

"Uncle, there are very few spirits left in the mortal realm. Is better if we let some go this time."

"Alright trap the small ones within the forest and devour the big ones, but do let the one with the highest spiritual force escape."

"Uncle, why let the most powerful one go?"

"Young lord, I am sending a message."

Indifferently easing the suffocating constraints, the dreaded skeleton allowed the lesser spirits, and the Blind t.i.tan Whale to fly out. Terrified to its core, the whale rushed towards the expansive ocean while generating strong vibrations in sheer relief and turmoil, however reaching the top of Rais's house, It could no longer move forward.

Spontaneously a fast flash of qi shot through its body, vaporizing it, leaving merely a spiritual energy core. When it dropped down towards the roof, It fell through a tiny portal into Anila's palm.

Anila realized she crossed her spiritual threshold to enter into a new 'major stage'; however, she stood frozen since she lost her last hope. Although she made a breakthrough, she couldn't restrain the curse, as if it grew stronger with her.
