73 Forbrewing Of The Crossing

Knowing that one had to volunteer the four girls pondered. While there magic and skills weren't the best, they weren't bad either.

Chie looked at the boat bitting her lower lip out of all the people here she knew in her heart. – Once they all embarked, the scout would have made it but she had a bad premonition.

She did not believe they would believe in her vision after all no one ever did.

While she was friend with Speranza she never spoke of her hidden traits or talents, after all, this what had gotten her into trouble a long time ago…

But not saying it did not sit well and saying it was even more impossible.

While her face never changed from that cold detached and aloof self, her inside where the exact opposite. – How could it not be? She felt the traps yet she couldn't say a word of it!

Scenes of her past flashed in her mind. Had she not once used her powers and vision to aid some close friend? In the end, they called her a monster, she had been shunned following that they had abandoned her. After she had cleared the path and taken them out of the woods!

She had been tortured and thrown to slavery luckily, however, she had met her and this why her soul was being thorned.

She had been warm since the first day but her premonition could like it could not happen what if in the end she made a mistake?

Or was it because she did nothing? She felt her mind was about to implode then explode!

Then she had a flash she needed to talk to Speranza she had a way to reverse the situation if this truly happened but she needed to make sure not to say too much as not to jinx the crossing…

Has much as she tried to hide her emotion they wouldn't go unnoticed by the girls that were always close to her now.

Saya gently spoke while her long lashes fanned her small puffy cheeks.

"Anything of matter Chie?"

Chie was startled lightly and frowned simply brus.h.i.+ng the matter.

"No nothing much I must only be worried over nothing."

She kept her tone light and casual even detached as not to alarm the others.

Turning her gaze to the boat and the person that was now sitting into it she sighed softly. No matter what it was too late now.

POV- Speranza

How could I not see Chie being thorn by some thoughts?

I would have needed to have been blind!

However for some reason unknown she was not willing to share, I figured it had to do with the fact that the scout would have little survival chances if anything had gone wrong.

We did not know how large was this gap and we all know what lurks below a huge kakren style beast.

There might be even more creatures but we could not scout the depths hence we had to gamble.

Gamble with a life.

It made me highly uncomfortable but we had no choice and the boat was now leaving. -backtracking was now no longer an option.

My gaze went toward my husband with the bridge that had been supposed to be there and had been destroyed it was clear someone did not want us to advance further.

In my heart, something was restless, as if a calamity was on its way. The feeling roughly the same as a horde of wild beast during a thunderous stampede.

But I couldn't voice it, If I did wasn't it calling for it?

POV --Yuy-

I couldn't help but feel the atmosphere of gloom around the others they were all worried but most disturbing was that the perpetual aloof Chie even looked affected.

Deciding that taking a lute and playing would likely help the tension I took my instrument and started an inspiring song to alleviate the fear and turn into courage!

After all, my specialty was namely a bard! I can use sound waves to smooth or inflict pain upon enemies and help the spirit of my comrades.

They call it blessings by music.

I smiled to Speranza and the others doing what I do best cheering them on.

I know too well that fear calls disaster as one won't think straight enough how could I let my friends and sisters be anxious?

Nothing comes of fretting over nothing!

I played a song about a young warrior leaving his village to head to adventure it's a cheerful melody with a bit of an upbeat stirring the warriors and their spirits.

Cheering the soldiers and mercenary alike along with my friends I earned a round of applause now the atmosphere was no longer gloomy and tensed. –Even the general gave me a small curled upward of his lips signalling me I did a great job.

I nearly can't believe it that the general gave me a smile. However, the one I truly want to look at is Bast. But this guy his even colder than are general… A perfect block of ice…

I wonder if sculpting ice is fun?

With these thoughts, I walk along Speranza back to the palanquin where the magical jade bed has been used to make the flooring and roof so that it could concentrate the magical particles for her.

It doesn't fully restore her magic but it keeps it at an acceptable level where she could use it if she truly needed after all if its to low and she use it…

I frowned lightly thinking back at that time…

She had used her life force in exchange for us to be safe. I crushed my chest cloth with my fingers I had sworn then. -Never again I would feel as powerless to help my friend...
