105 Dream Catchers

Confusion filled me as I sat up. All around me were trees and hanging vines. On the vines were several pendant like items. I scooted over. The items were circular in shape and glinted despite the dim nature of the forest. They resembled dream catchers.

I looked up to see dream catchers hanging from every branch.

What the f.u.c.k is Maldonius thinking of now?

I've had it with his games. These aren't even trials anymore. I sighed. How immature. Now I can't even tell if it's morning or if I've pa.s.sed the first trial. Whatever.

I turned to see my saber on the ground next to me. My stomach growled. For now I need to find a source of nutrition. I picked up my saber and walked through the forest. Branches scratched my face and arms as I noticed that I was dressed only in my bra and slacks. When the f.u.c.k did I take off my blouse? I shook my fist. That b.a.s.t.a.r.d!

In any case I could move easier this way so no harm done. The only edible thing in a rainforest would be the fruits. So I needed to find a sort of fruit.

My legs burned as I continued to walk through the forest. I swear to G.o.d that I had pa.s.sed by that tree earlier. It still had the moss attached to the bottom of it.

It's been half an hour yet it seems like I've been walking in circles. When Maldonius brought me here earlier the island seemed to be quite small. Despite that fact I still haven't encountered the tigers from earlier or any other creature. The dream catchers continued to gleam and sparkle. I plopped down on the ground. My body's scratched in several areas, I'm hungry, thirsty, and exhausted. If this was the first trial what are the next trials supposed to be like. I put my head on my knees.

G.o.d above I don't think that I can continue. As I thought that I remembered the faces of my crew members. Their smiles encouraged me. Baron smirked his usual mischievous smile as he called me his wife once more. I sighed. I needed to save them. I can't just abandon them like this. If any of them were in the same situation they would be strong and get through it. I can't just give up right now.

I didn't agree to the trials with a half-a.s.sed att.i.tude in the first place. I need to focus and get my s.h.i.+t together. If it were early morning the forest would be louder than it is now. Additionally during the early morning the forest would usually have a sort of fog. All of this information was in my mind because of my obsession with discovery channel in my previous life.

Thank G.o.d for that.

I stood up and continued to trek through the forest once more. I winced as a large item fell on my head. I looked down to see a thing that resembled a banana. It must be a plantain. The bitter taste should still make it edible. I reached down and peeled the fruit. Inside it resembled a banana but had seeds. I took the tome to extract the seeds as I ate the fruit. I looked up. There was nothing in sight. So where did it drop from?

I frowned. That f.u.c.ker Maldonius was quite the annoying person. He was a jerk at times but at others seems to be considerate. How annoying indeed. After finis.h.i.+ng the plantain I looked up at the treetops. I was still exhausted so the best way to rest is at the top of a tree. That way I could be safe from most predators.

I looked down at my legs. I have never climbed a tree before in any of my two lives so how the f.u.c.k am I supposed to right now?

Anxiety filled me once more as I looked at the tree in front of me. Am I supposed to hug it and climb up? Or put my feet in some position? Technically the best way to climb up something is with a rope but I lacked one. I looked down at my slacks and smiled. Thank G.o.d I always insist on wearing a belt. I took off my belt as my slacks slid down. I was now only in my underwear. But at this point embarra.s.sment was the least of my problems.

I then wrapped the belt around the girth of the semi thin tree and placed my feet on the strong bark. I then advanced the belt up the tree as I started to climb. After ten minutes of heaving up the tree I finally reached a branch at the top. I then reached over and placed myself on the branch while hugging the tree. I looked like a sloth from the way that I hung from the surprisingly strong tree branch. I then s.h.i.+fted my weight so that I finally reached the top of the tree. A web of some sorts of branches allowed me to rest comfortably on the the top of the tree. I looked up to see the expanse full sky. The dark sky was lighter than its usual midnight color. It must be around three or four a.m in that case. I smiled. This trial isn't as bad as I had expected. I felt my exhaustion hit me all at once as I closed my eyes and laid down. Several stars shone in the sky.

I wonder what my family and friends were doing back home right now. How did they react when they heard of my death? I sighed. Thoughts like that are just going to keep me awake. If I sleep now then by the time I wake up I would have survived the first trial.

As I closed my eyes a roar and a slithering noise awoke me. I turned to see a large cat with green emerald eyes look at me to the right. To the left was a cobra with black beady eyes. I chuckled.

I guess that at the end I'm either going to be cat food or snake waste. How hilarious and pathetic indeed.
