84 Confession

"So you do have an idea of this kind of things?" Eureka asked in return.

"Hey I'm not that completely clueless about this," Theo retorted back.

Eureka didn't banter any longer and started walking away.

"Where are you going?" Theo asked following her.

"This training is pointless, I have no time to waste when you yourself aren't even focusing."

"You know, you really want to be cold but you still find it in yourself to watch over them, don't you?"

Theo knowing that he really is distracted decided to just have a cht with her.

"..."

"You don't want to answer again. And what is the real score between you and Raven?"

"..."

"And no answer again."

They walked silently for a while before Theo decided to speak up once again, "And yet despite your coldness, I still find myself liking you."

Eureka stopped walking and faced him.

"I know for sure that if you aren't blindfolded right now you would be looking at me not with surprise but with a deadpan look," Theo commented as he too stopped and looked at her.

"Well I'm serious. One of the reasons why I also came here is because I want to know more that awfully cold girl who could even rebuke her king. I've heard all about it, you see. Everything that happened during that war. You are very much different from all the people I've interacted with and so my eyes ended up following your back."

"..."

"I'm serious. My stay here helped know that my feelings were true."

"..."

"And I will start pursuing you no matter how much you hate to make any relations.h.i.+ps around here."

"You don't know me," Eureka finally replied.

"I'll get to know you even more as I stay with you," Theo replied with conviction.

"You really don't know me."

"I will know you sooner or later."

"Are you sure your feelings isn't something else?" Eureka asked her voice implying something else.

This somehow made Theo speechless. He was so sure of his feelings but her voice and her question made him think.

He had watched her, truly he had watched her. He had asked the others questions about her. He had been the happiest whenever he and Eureka are alone as she train him. He had been the happiest after coming here, and she had been the reason for it. But why is her question implying how unsure he is?

"Once you find out who I am, I'm pretty sure you'll understand what you truly feel."

Eureka didn't wait for his reply as she walked away.

Theo thought as he watched her retreating back.

"I'll be pursuing Eureka."

Upon sitting down to eat, Theo suddenly announced, looking straight at Raven, causing Hideyos.h.i.+ who was drinking water to splurt it out, and Karen who's chewing something choked, Feena and the others looked at him wide eyed. Raven looked at him, surprise pa.s.sed through his eyes.

"Are you announcing that to us? Or are you saying that to me?" Raven asked confusion followed his surprise.

If Theo was indeed saying it to him alone, then why would he do that? It's not like he is Eureka's father for Theo to ask for his permission.

"I'm just declaring it. I have already told her my feelings," Theo replied.

"W-Wait Theo, are you serious right now? I mean, Eureka? Are you sure it's Eureka?" Hideyos.h.i.+ asked as he placed his palm on Theo's forehead.

"Will you stop that? I'm serious," Theo replied swatting his hand away.

"But there was no signs or anything and you just met her," Mamoru couldn't help but to point out as well.

"I don't need to show signs just for others to know that I have fallen for her and there's no need to count the time you have spent with someone to know that you really have fallen for them. What's the use of taking so long in confessing? Is it because it's scary? Or is it because you don't want any rejection?"

All of them were silent.

"For me, what's scarier is the fact that somekne s.n.a.t.c.hed the person I love away without me doing anything. I'd feel much more at ease knowing that I did my share of fighting for her rather than just watch her walk away," he concluded and looked at each of them.

Mamoru and Hideyos.h.i.+ were hit hard by his words, they knew he was also lecturing them. With the days they've spent together, they had become close to talk in front of Theo about their feelings that they are too scared to reveal.

On the other hand, Azusa and Feena were also hit. What they think is that he was only referring to himself but their feelings were never revealed because they were also scared.

"You have a point, but others aint as strong as you are. Hiding their feelings are not a weakness but it's not strength either. There are always time for everything. If it isn't mature enough why risk getting hurt at the same time hurting another person with a confused feeling? Allow them to mature first, when that time comes for sure it won't be too late," Raven suddenly replied causing a few gasps from the people around him.

Not one of them expected to hear such words from him.

"Raven..." Mamoru wanted to say something but couldn't find the words.

"I only voiced out my own opinion as well but it doesn't have to be my own experience. He voiced out his and I voiced out mine," Raven replied knowing that something else might be running through their minds.

Hideyos.h.i.+ and Mamoru felt a bit relieved hearing Raven's response to Theo's words. 'If you are not yet sure then don't hurt them', was his meaning. They are sure of their feelings but they are not sure if they can do the duty of being the girl's partner just fine and that is what scared them the most.

"But going back to the topic," Karen, after rolling her eyes at these people, b.u.t.ted in.

"You could have chosen someone else specially with who you are. And yet why Eureka?"

Hearing her words Theo knew that Azusa and Raven finally told them. He was shocked at how their att.i.tudes didn't change and still talk to him like usual but at the same time grateful.

"Don't look at us like that, when it comes to our group, t.i.tles meant nothing," seeing his reaction Mamoru commented.

Theo chuckled before looking serious again, "Who knows, she's aloof and cold, she hates connections, she loves using people, she loves puzzles causing others to be confused, she has a lot of flaws but I just couldn't help getting drawn towards her."

Seeing his serene look, all of them knew he is genuinely inlove with her.

"I thought you are slow? Ouch" Hideyos.h.i.+ commented earning him a smack in the head from Theo.

"I might be slow on how others develop but I am not slow on how my feelings develop."

Just like that their foods arrived, they ate merrily and chatted like it's still the usual night, chatting as if tomorrow wasn't the day of revelation.

"Well, we can't say we would support you. We never wanted to side with anyone, especially around this group. But we wish you luck. Whether you could tame that girl or not," Feena said.

Her words were the truth, they don't want to support someone for someone else as they knew that the other might not feel the same way. But they could only wish them luck and a shoulder to lean on if it didn't go well.

Theo smiled at her words, "Thank you for that."

They all waved goodbye to each other as they went their separate ways, all their faces turned serious knowing that the next day they wake up, they'll have to face another battle.

*****

"I've heard," Eureka didn't turn around knowing who was behind her.

She couldn't sleep and so she decided to stay by their usual spot, the lake, to breath some fresh air.

Raven's foot brought him here, knowing their battle tomorrow will be a tedious one, he too just wanted t have a breather. Though he didn't expect to see her here. Knowing she would have already known that he's here, the first thing that came to his mind was Theo's serious expression when telling them about his feelings.

"I never accepted any kinds of relations.h.i.+p. Especially that of what he wants to offer. You know that the best cause for some odd reason you are always there to witness my pus.h.i.+ng away of the people around me."

"Adding to the fact that I have lost my emotions, what more could I say?" Eureka replied as a light breeze went past them.

He back that always seemed lonely and scared, looks even more so right now. He didn't reply to her and just walked beside her. If she is so adamant in keeping quiet about it, then he would respect her.

"Tomorrow is the day," he instead replied.

"Indeed."
