227 Detached

Leo feeling something didn't ask the question he had been wondering before he returned to his sleep the first time he had woken up. Akihiro and the others were right, Leo was a smart person, he knew full well that they are keeping something from him but he still didn't outright ask for what it was.

During this week, he would just silently accept the things Layla would give him. He would eat the food she serves and allowed her to help him out like normal. But Layla could tell that he seems distant somehow and he haven't spoken about anything yet, he became somewhat of a one word man.

Of course Layla and Azusa tried their best to keep communicating with him like normal but to no avail. They just didn't want to give up, they knew he was just not yet used for suddenly being thrown back to this world where everything was as peaceful as it could get.

Akihiro and Yukimura still did their best to find time and visit him. They would speak about the different changes in the kingdom. Specially the changes on the people's physics regarding their abilities.

"There's something you haven't told me. How did this changes came to be?" Leo asked one time when there was only the three of them in the room. Layla went out to get more clothes and more food.

"Another hero," Akihiro smiled and his words were warm.

He look straight at Leo's eyes and replied, "She came from another future and helped us in defeating Juzo and the others. But after doing her mission, she once again left for another journey."

Leo was once again quiet as he pondered over everything. On the other hand, Yukimura wanted to applaud Akihiro. He came up with something that would hide the ident.i.ty of the hero but at the same time he wasn't lying.

He was saying the truth but not the entire truth, for Eureka did came from the future and she had once again disappeared going on another journey to return to their world.

"There's something I have to ask you about as well," Akihiro once again opened his mouth, this time his expression was very serious and the warmth a while ago was gone.

"Why are you distancing yourself to everyone, even to Layla and Azusa?"

Leo looked away after hearing this question. But Akihiro and Yukimura's eyes were urging him to answer the question thrown at him. He took a deep breath and looked up at them once again. His eyes were suddenly dead and numb.

"Because you all have no idea what kind of things I have done before Juzo took over my body."

Before any of them could speak again, "I wanted to rest, I really haven't recovered yet. If you please."

He then lay down and covered himself with the blanket, implying that he really wanted to speak. Akihiro and Yukimura looked at each other before they said their goodbyes and left the room. Leo silently lay there staring at the ceiling his mind was somewhere else.

He could faintly hear a woman's scream and curses towards him. He could hear his sword hitting human flesh and the last breath those people took. He could smell the thick scent of blood as he kept walking. He could hear please but he didn't care.

He clenched his fist as he hears all these things as every memory of the past returned to him. The times before Juzo found him and made use of him. He could clearly remember everything.

"You look like you want to punch someone, sir Leo."

His eyes snapped open when he heard another voice inside the room, he didn't hear the door opening and closing so he was completely startled upon hearing another person.

He sat up right away as he looked towards the direction of where the voice came from. There he was welcomed with the view of Raven leaning by the window sill looking at him with indifference. Like he was just a pa.s.serby watching a show by the side walk.

"I have asked your father to let me be for I need to rest. So could I ask of you to leave me for now as well? I just want to go back to sleep," Leo seriously said.

"Return to sleep or return to breaking apart by remembering every bad thing that you have done?" Raven didn't budge but instead asked in return.

Leo's brows furrowed upon hearing him say this. He looked at Raven intently as if searching for why and how did he come up with this reason.

"*sigh* A righteous person such as you would always adhere to righteousness and if it is you who would do the wrong, surely you would feel the guiltiest. Seeing how you clenched your fist a while ago as you were in deep thought. I think even my father would be able to come up with what I had just ask you," Raven said but still with respect.

Leo did the same thing as a while ago when Akihiro asked him why he was being distant, he looked away from Raven but just as he opened his mouth, Raven opened his.

"I am in no position to teach you regarding such matter for I was once just like that. I just want to remind you that your family have waited for so long and was still waiting for you to return to them. To what you plan on doing in the future, I will not care as long as you don't include ending your own life. Cause that life of yours and the time you spend here was not your alone."

After saying his piece Raven left, leaving Leo watching his retreating back until the door of his hospital room were closed. He was left there in deep thought with what Raven have just told him.

"Oh, here for dinner?" Yukimura asked.

Upon coming home he was welcomed by not only Mutsumi but Raven as well. He was sitting in the living room sipping from his cup. Yukimura sat across him as he too asked for some tea.

"No. I'm here to speak to you," Raven replied as he put down his cup.

"What is it?"

"I know you were aware of it father and I know that you are still giving him time to adjust before delving deeper to what is really going on inside him. But you should also know that as time pa.s.s by that you leave him in such state he will just keep on plummeting to the darkness of his guilt."

Without ceremony, Raven opened his mouth and said non stop. Yukimura who had just received his cup of tea almost drop it the instant Raven started talking. He could only look with his mouth agape at Raven.

"That's all I wanted to say. I have night duties this time so I won't be having dinner with you. But please do think about what I had just told you and try to come up with a solution as soon as possible."

Raven stood up and was about to leave when Yukimura finally returned to his senses, "How sure are you about this?"

"Cause I was once just like him. We could only be grateful that he has no ability to lose control of right now. But he might end up losing control of his emotions," after saying this he turned and walked out of the door.

Yukimura then remembered about Raven way back when he was just on his teens. Back in the academy when with just the scent of burned flesh he would instantly lose control of his ability.

"He really have grown up to be such a wonderful man, haven't he?" on the side Mutsumi commented.

Yukimura looked at her with a smile on his face, "I felt like he just became Eureka. The way he speaks and acts."

"Have you noticed then?" Mutsumi came close and asked him.

"He somehow became detached. He had always been the serious one and all and at the same time he was detached of some things but right now it felt like he had become even more detached."

"Maybe that's just his way of coping up. But his a fine man, I'm sure he'll return to his usual demeanor in a short span of time," Yukimura placed his arms around her shoulder as he guided her towards the dining area. He could smell the food that was already cooked and is being prepared by their servants.

As he walked on the almost empty roads, he took a deep breath of the night air. Somehow he became even more relaxed. Raven looked up at the sky and thought, 'The nature's ability never changed. It could always calm you and refresh your mind.'
