173 I Stole The Game

Since Daniel had fetched Samantha yesterday, her car was left in her office. So, that morning, he drove her to Trident.

"Do you remember what I told you to do?", Daniel asked Samantha who was applying powder on her nose on the pa.s.senger's seat.

Her hand stopped in front of her face and then she turned her head to him, "What? You didn't tell me anything.", she shook her head. "Did you talk to me while I was sleeping again?"

He laughed at her question as he recalled that one time when he did talk to her, but he didn't realize that she had already fallen asleep.

Samantha was lying on the bed with her eyes closed and Daniel had just laid down beside her.

"Honey, did you remember to lock the doors when you came up?", he asked.

In which Samantha responded whilst asleep, "Mhmm, because I like you naughty."

The next morning after her sleep talking, Daniel told her about what happened the night before but she didn't believe him. He was very insistent and said that he should have recorded it instead. But could he have known that it would happen?

"No, I didn't talk to you while you were asleep.", he answered while still chuckling.

She thought about it but she really couldn't remember if he had told her something important, and so she requested, "Remind me what you told me."

Daniel reached out to hold her hand and said, "I told you to trust me. That I will take care of it for you so all you have to do is to wait. I promise that you will be able to launch your game no matter what, okay?"

Samantha felt very warm with his words for her. And so, she smiled at him and nodded before bringing his hand to her lips and kissed it. She didn't know when she had started to depend on him more but even so, she didn't find it uncomfortable. It was quite the opposite actually, she felt secured that even on her downfalls, Daniel was always there with her. She is always amazed at how deep his feelings are for her.

With this thought in mind, she had added another promise to herself that no matter what, she is going to stand by him. And that she is going to do her best to be worthy to be called Daniel Cho's wife.

Inside the Maybach.

After Daniel dropped Samantha at Trident, he wore his bluetooth headset on and then he dialed a number. After a few rings, a man answered the call.

"Boss, we're waiting for you at the bas.e.m.e.nt.", said the man.

His eyes were fierce as he drove his car towards the suburbs, "Did you find those two?", he probed with a hint of threat in his voice.

"Yes, we found them. What do you want us to do to them?", the man asked, waiting for his order.

Stepping on the gas, his speed increased while he spoke, "Nothing. Wait for me. I want them alive."

Several hours later at Trident, in the CEO's Office.

Hannah was browsing some magazines on the sofa while Samantha was on the phone with Becca.

"Don't worry about the articles online, people will talk for a bit and then the issue will subside.", she said.

Samantha slumped on her chair, "Yeah, I woke up today thinking that I shouldn't be affected by all of it. But I can't help it sometimes. I mean, who wants to be talked about behind their backs, right?"

"You'll be fine, Sam. Just always remember that only your loved ones matter the most. So whatever those strangers think about you, it shouldn't affect you."

"Thanks, Becks!"

"No biggie, how's Hannah holding up?", she asked.

Samantha glanced at her best friend who was munching some crackers while her eyes were set on the Cosmopolitan magazine's pages, oogling at some hot guys' bods.

She stifled a laugh, "Hannah's being Hannah… doesn't even care about what's going on. I doubt that she even read what's online."

"That's good then. I gotta go Sam, I'm boarding soon."

"Ooh! Enjoy the beaches and send me pictures!", they both bid farewell before ending the call.

Hannah lifted her head when she noticed Samantha approaching her, "Was that Becca?", she probed before putting a cracker in her mouth.

"Yeah, she was just about to board the plane.", Samantha took some crackers for herself and continued. "What is that? You look very focused on other men... isn't Seo Joon's body enough?"

Hannah choked on the food that she was eating, her face became red in embarra.s.sment. "I haven't seen- um, I mean, I didn't-", she stuttered and Samantha laughed at her.

"Look at you, how come the bold and free spirited Hannah suddenly becomes like an innocent teenager when it comes to Joon?", she teased some more.

"Stop it, Samantha!", Hannah shoved a cracker on Samantha's mouth to stop her from talking more.

Just then, the door of Samantha's office opened. a.s.sistant Chen came in a rush, "Madam! The TV! The game!"

Samantha wiped her mouth to remove the crumbs and stood up, "Slow down, Chen. What's going on?"

Chen composed herself and turned on the television. The screen came to life and the three of them saw two people on stage, it looked like a press conference.

"Isn't that… Cole?", Samantha saw one of her best programmers who resigned a couple of weeks ago.

And beside him was the CEO of Quantum Solutions, Mr. Sung Nan.

With trembling voice, Cole spoke in front of all the media, "I... I... I stole the game that Gamescape launched. I stole it from Trident."
