149 Badass Samantha

Gael's men were too focused on Daniel, so without anyone noticing, Samantha had actually started to run towards one of the men who was pointing his gun to Daniel.

"How dare you point your gun at him?!!", she roared as she sprinted.

Hearing the sound from his right, the man subconsciously pointed the gun towards the sprinting Samantha, 'Where did this woman come from?'

Daniel s.h.i.+fted his gaze to where Samantha was and his eyes widened, "Samantha!!", he shouted.

Right when the gun was pointed at her, Samantha was already in front of the man. She quickly removed herself from the line of fire and without hesitation, she kicked the man's knee as hard as she could and a cracking sound was heard along with his scream; he fell on the ground.

"Aaaaah! You B*tch!", the man yelled in pain, his knee was now busted.

Everyone else in the room was shocked to see what happened. Gael's men were confused as to where they were going to point the gun. To Daniel who was about to enter the mansion or the crazy woman who just injured their brother? Everything was just happening too fast!

The man who was writhing in pain tried to grab the gun on the floor a few feet from him but Samantha had caught on what he was about to do. Stepping on his had, another cry echoed in the room. She carefully picked up the gun and with her trembling hands, she pointed it towards the man on the floor whose knee she had just injured.

The poor man froze when he realized that the tables have turned as the gun was already pointing at him.

Scanning the room, Samantha looked at everyone who was pointing their guns at Daniel and with a fierce expression, she demanded, "Put your guns away from my husband or I will shoot!"

Daniel was very stunned to see everything before him. 'Is this… my Samantha? Since when did she become so fierce? Also... did she really call me as her husband?', Daniel was speechless as he stared at the love of his life who was trying to 'save him'. Wasn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Gael's men glanced at their boss, who was also at that moment, astonished at what he had just witnessed. 'This woman...'

He had neglected Samantha's presence since the start and had only glanced at her when she started to speak up before Daniel arrived.

This was the first time that he had really seen her this close and this... beautiful. Looking at the woman who looked very confident with her skills, Gael started to wonder who this woman was. And then it suddenly occurred to him what Samantha had just said. 'My husband.' Was she talking about this man?' Gael turned his head to Daniel who had loving eyes and was only looking at Samantha.

His brows scrunched up, he was still in deep thoughts when Samatha spoke again. "You, tell your men to put their guns down.", she told Gael.

Gael's mind was in chaos but he snapped out of his daze and turned to Daniel. "Is she your fiancée... your wife?"

Without looking away from Samantha Daniel slightly nodded, "Yes."

Upon hearing this, Gael looked up and saw Becca who was being held by one of his men upstairs.

He closed his eyes and sighed. "Everybody put your guns down.", he ordered and immediately, his men followed without question.

"I thought that I have made myself clear... we aren't here to cause trouble. I am going to tell you one more time, do not use violence unless I tell you to do so. Do you understand?", he spoke like a king.

His men looked at each other briefly before they acknowledged his order; the king's order is always absolute.

Samantha also lowered her weapon, she never liked guns and she never liked violence. But while she and Becca tried to run, she saw that Daniel was being targeted; her mind suddenly cleared up. All she could think of was saving her man. So without thinking twice, she dashed and did what she did.

She threw the gun away and ran towards Daniel. She pounced onto him and he steadied her with his arms. Locking her arms around Daniel's neck, Samantha buried her face on his shoulder and smelled his scent in which she actually thought she would never be able to again.

"You're okay... I'm here.", he whispered to her as he stroke her hair.

Daniel could feel her shaking, he knew that her adrenaline had probably already pa.s.sed. Samantha was brave but it didn't mean that she wasn't scared at all and Daniel knew her too well for that.

"No one can hurt you anymore. I'm right here.", he continued to coax her.

Gael looked away from the loving couple in front of him and ordered his men to leave. He actually felt a slight p.r.i.c.k in his heart. He was perhaps jealous that he could not have this kind of treatment, not from Becca and probably not from anyone else.

Footsteps were heard from the stairs and Becca slowly made her way to the group where she met Gael's eyes; the man she used to like. Was there really no hope for them anymore?

Samantha pulled away from Daniel and turned to face Becca and Gael. "Becca, let's go home.", she urged.

Becca looked away and started to walk past Gael but he held her back, "Stay with me.", he softly asked.

She stopped in her tracks and faced him. With tears in her eyes, Becca smiled at the man in front of her. Lightly squeezing his hand, she started, "I did love you, Gael... but I can't have this kind of life with you... Your world is too different from mine... I'm sorry, I hope you find your happiness."

Devastated, Gael unwillingly let her go and watched her leave with Daniel and Samantha. Did he really come to this country just to get his heart broken? Perhaps, this was their closure. Perhaps, this encounter had to happen.
