Ch114.2 – Phone Call

At this moment, someone called Zhou Sheng. Yu Hao's heart jolted, but Zhou Sheng hung up right after he picked it up. He said, “I'll give Junjun Jie a call?”

Yu Hao said, “Don't, she's busy.”

“Tell me the truth,” Zhou Sheng said, “Did it fall through?”

“No.” Yu Hao said, “Just let me wait for awhile longer……”

Zhou Sheng said, “I'll call her and ask.”

“It's not like she's obligated to find an internship for me,” Yu Hao said, “What are you going to say to her? Helping us would be a favour, but it would be reasonable for her not to. It's not like she owes us.”

“That's true.” Zhou Sheng said, “I'm very grateful towards her, but if it doesn't work out we'll have to think of other ways too ah.”

“What other ways are there?” Yu Hao asked, “Aren't I sending out my resume too?”

“So that is the case?” Zhou Sheng said, “Why didn't you say so sooner?”

Yu Hao, “I didn't want to! You were annoyed in the first place! What use would there be in saying it?”

Zhou Sheng, “You think I'm annoying?”

Yu Hao, “I'm not saying that you're annoying, what I meant was that you already feel plenty annoyed!”

They finally quarrelled. Yu Hao and Zhou Sheng had been trying their best to restrain themselves over the matter regarding their internships, but it still broke out in the end. However, Fu Liqun just happened to come back, and he was panting like a husky that was suffering from heatstroke. He went straight to the refrigerator to get a drink, while Yu Hao and Zhou Sheng acted as if n.o.body else was present as they sat down and quarrelled. Fu Liqun suddenly said, “It's so hot outside that my tongue's falling out.”

Silence suddenly fell. When Zhou Sheng and Yu Hao heard that, their faces turned taut as they tried to withhold their laughter, but Yu Hao still burst out laughing in the end, and Zhou Sheng just sighed helplessly.

“I've been hammered.” Zhou Sheng suddenly said.

Yu Hao, “It's really difficult to find a job in the first place……”

“Hammered by you.” Zhou Sheng said earnestly, “Why didn't you tell me?”

Yu Hao said, “I just……okay, it's my problem. I was wrong.”

Yu Hao's contacts on his phone was connected to Zhou Sheng's, and the contact name Zhou Sheng input for Zhou Laichun was that name. Yu Hao returned the earphone to Zhou Sheng and let him talk by himself, while he picked up Zhou Laichun's call.

“Hi Daddy.” Yu Hao said calmly.

Zhou Laichun, “Yu Hao, let me ask you, did you use your own email to send Zhou Sheng's resume to Tian Jia?”

Yu Hao indicated with his gaze to ask Zhou Sheng to have a proper talk with his father. This was another matter altogether; ever since coming out, this was the first conversation on the phone Zhou Laichun has had with his son.

“If you really want to make decisions for yourself in your life,” Zhou Laichun said, “Then prove yourself with your own abilities ba. I've already said this much, how much more do you want me to give in? I've already sent your resume to the Chief Financial Officer, you can report to the company whenever you want next week. You know where the company is, I'm hanging up now.”

The call ended, and silence fell upon the dining table.

Yu Hao was about to speak when Zhou Sheng said, “At first, my idea was to send both our resumes to Beijing or Shanghai together. Whoever found a company to intern at first could rent a place there beforehand, then the other would go over and slowly try to find an internship there too.”

Yu Hao was stunned. Zhou Sheng continued helplessly, “The only reason I decided to stay in this city was because you said that Junjun Jie had already arranged everything for you. “He said that he got to know you from a friend.” Zhou Sheng said, “He's working on a project and asked if you would be willing to have a chat.”

“That's fine.” Yu Hao said immediately, “When's the appointment?”

“Tomorrow at 3pm, Annvita Teahouse.” Zhou Sheng said, “He said that you could go if you want to, and he'd wait until 4pm before leaving.”

Yu Hao looked at Zhou Sheng. Zhou Sheng said, “What! Want to fight again?”

Yu Hao leaned over and kissed him on his lips. Zhou Sheng's anger dissipated at once, and he tried his best to control his lips from curving upwards. “Okay then, I'll accompany you.”

Yu Hao asked, “What about your internship?

Zhou Sheng said, “I'll continue sending resumes out. Choose a place, Beijing ba.”

Yu Hao thought that was fine too, so he sent resumes out to more than a dozen companies in Beijing, including those in the new media and food and beverage industry.

The next day, their house was full of leaflets. Fu Liqun and Xia Lei were dividing them up. Yu Hao took a stack of 400 leaflets and said, “I'll be in charge of Baiyang Road, you don't need to worry about that.”

Fu Liqun requested for him to introduce the gym as well when distributing the leaflets, and it would be best if he could get their contact numbers for ease of getting in touch with them again. It was Yu Hao's first time distributing such difficult leaflets, and the weather was really hot too. Zhou Sheng was afraid that he would get heatstroke and asked him to rest in the teahouse, but Yu Hao insisted on going everywhere to distribute the leaflets.

“Be careful of getting heatstroke.” Zhou Sheng said, “What are you working so hard for? Could you just go in and take a break?”

“It's our own business ah!” Yu Hao said, “Our money!”

“The other party would be dumb if they actually left you their contact information!” Zhou Sheng said, “When Gege said that I wanted to tell him that it was impossible!”

Yu Hao said, “In any case I have to try, stop scolding me! I'm becoming dumb from all your scolding!”

Zhou Sheng said, “It's too hot! I just can't bear seeing you like this!”

Under the hot sun, the two of them almost started quarrelling again. Just as Yu Hao was standing there feeling gloomy, a boy with a camera slung around his neck dressed in a T-shirt, beach shorts, and AJ slippers walked over. “Don't fight don't fight, Babe, Gege will leave you my contact information.”

Zhou Sheng, “……”

Zhou Sheng and Yu Hao looked at the guy together. Yu Hao sensed danger, but fortunately Zhou Sheng didn't act up. That guy left his phone number and even threw Yu Hao an enigmatic smile and made eyes at him. “You can call me at any time.” Then he made a 'calling' gesture before pushing open the door to the tea house and went in.

“Was he the one who called yesterday?” Yu Hao asked.

Yu Hao wondered if he was being flirted with just now. He saw Zhou Sheng push the door open and went in as well, thinking, please don't pick a fight with that big guy. Fortunately, Zhou Sheng didn't sit next to that guy. He ordered a family-size bucket of ice cream and placed it in front of the gla.s.s windows.

Zhou Sheng picked up a spoon and under Yu Hao's gaze, dug up a large scoop and slowly lifted it up.

Zhou Sheng raised an eyebrow and seemed to turn into a male model in an ice cream commercial. His eyebrows alone were rich with expression. He shook his head helplessly, closed his eyes and began eating the ice-cream.

“Aren't you going to distribute leaflets?” Zhou Sheng said, “What about the business? Not doing it anymore?”

Yu Hao had already sat down opposite Zhou Sheng, “I'll take a break……it really is very hot.”
