In an instant, the sharp wind from a knife blew over his head... Mike lifted his head only to see Matt kicking off the zombie's chest, the ma.s.sive impact made it chest cave backward as its body was lifted from the ground flying back half a meter away from them. His kick was fast and precise like a machine.

Mike's eyes widened in surprise, and he stared incredulously at a fierce Matt. The only thought that came to his mind was 'd.a.m.n... Matt must have been training for the last month to reach this level'

Matt hollered in a low voice, "What are you waiting for? Chop it's head off!"

"Oh, right!" only then did Mike regained his mind. He hastily stood up, then ran out towards the zombie in front of him and used his newfound strength to yank the fire axe. Then in a single swift swing removed the head of the zombie from its body.

'The zombie is dead' thought Mike as he sat on the ground and started panting heavily. He finally felt calm after escaping near death.

"Do you know what mistakes you committed right now?" asked Matt

"Yeah! I lost my strength when I couldn't take out the fire axe from the zombie's head and was completely at his mercy" Mike stated.

"That's just one of the many mistakes Mike," Matt said, "Firstly you attacked the zombie when he was too close to you and that too on his head. I think after splitting open the heads of 30 or so zombies you should know how much strength is needed to actually accomplish that. You should have copied Ethan and dodged the zombie's pounce then attack him from the back so that even if you don't kill him in the first swing he won't be able to attack you right after that. another thing to note is that you shouted! Why in the h.e.l.l do you think it's right to shout when you swing your fire axe? If there were any zombies close by then they would be attracted by your shout but since there weren't any I won't be talking about that but what if the blood of the zombie entered your mouth while you were shouting, think what could have happened?"

Ethan who was standing by Matt also became stunned as he had also forgotten the fact that this virus could easily be spread by a bite so spreading it by blood will most likely be true as well.

"I-I never thought about it!" Mike stated.

"I know that's why I am telling you to don't act rashly, currently the three of us are the only ones who are fighting with the zombies and we have to make sure that we stay safe so that others can stay safe," Matt said while looking at the two who nodded there head with complete seriousness.

"Ok, now we will be going to the 10th floor. Though it only has two rooms both rooms have two members of hotel staff each waiting for them right outside there rooms to satisfy any of their needs. So that's 4 people we will have to take care of then there is the rooftop. One of the reasons for the Royale Hotel be so famous is because of the parties held and I seriously don't know if there was any party heald there yesterday or not, so we will be using stairs instead elevator to check the 10th floor then the rooftop" Matt explained.

"Party!? It's 1 am who would have stayed there to party?" Mike asked.

"Not now genius? It's Manhatten and the parties here most likely go even after 12 am. Though I asked the reception before booking the rooms if there was going to be any party today and they told me there wasn't any booking for that but I don't know if someone booked it on short notice so let's just take precaution" Matt stated.

Hearing him Ethan and Mike were surprised as they never thought that Matt would have even asked about that which led to a doubt appear in their mind 'Did he knew about the apocalypse beforehand!?'

"Let's go," Matt said as he started to walk towards the staircase followed by Ethan and Mike.

As the three of them walked up the stairs they stopped before entering the 10th floor just to make sure that they don't get overwhelmed by zombies. Right next to the staircase of the 10th floor a female zombie wearing the dress of the hotel staff was gnawing on his partner's body along with 2 other zombies one of which was male. The one they were eating had his head bashed up so he was most likely attacked by someone alive and looking at his twisted body he fad fallen from the stairs as well. From that att easily guessed that there is someone alive on the rooftop or was alive on the rooftop.

"Take care of the three, they are busy so you should be able to do that " Matt whispered to the two men behind him. He wanted to see if they would be able to take care of themselves or not.

Ethan and Mike slowly walked in front of Matt crouching downwards so that they don't get seen, when the two of them were 3 steps away from the zombie, they moved.

Ethan swings his axe to the female zombie Matt saw first, chopping its head off before she could even react and Mike with the full strength he could muster swings the fire axe at the male zombie's neck removing it from its body by the time the third zombie realized that there was fresh meat near her Ethan had once again done his job of chopping the head of the second zombie.

"Good at least you guys can easily take care of 3 to 4 zombies if you move like that" Matt said as he moved forward and stored the bodies of the zombies in the inventory so that it doesn't start smelling in the hallway.

"Now let's pick a room! Shall we"
