Chapter 5.Welcome to the summoners school.(11)
We cant keep going like this.
Nerkia nodded assoonashe heard this.
Far too little first andseconds years are actually doing anything.
The way thatYugrasia, no, the four schools worked was simple. New students get into first year, andafter they spend a year inschool, they become second years. Afterthat, they become a third year.
The first years can be described with the word pride.
Asmany of them got tutored intheir respective noble families, everyone had an extremely large amount of pride. Well, pride is a nice way of putting it. Inreality, these students just didnt have common sense.
Sincethey got loaded with the best kind of education intheir homes, its expected thattheyd be very smart! This is the same forschools like Mercaria aswell. Theres a huge difference between kids whowork to earn money andstudy intheir free time, andkids whojust get taught by great teachers intheir homes atall times.
Becauseof that, the kids infirst year are chock full of people whothinks theyre great. Thats whya lot of accidents andfights occur inthis year.
The second years can be described with the word calm.
Inthe previous year, the ranks between students get chosen. These students realize how insignificant they are, andbegin to quiet down.
This is also the time whenthey learn about how societies work, andit is also the time whenthey care about how teachers look atthem the most. Inthis time, students get outside to learn from their seniors.
Lastly, the third years. They can be described with the word chaos.
This is the time whenthe personalities from the first years appear again. This is wheneveryones pretty much done with everything. Theyve adapted to the environment of the school, andhave gotten smarter. Theyve become much more adept inavoiding getting into trouble.
Butthe thing thats the most important here is the third years have nothing to do. Oncethey enter their third year, everyone knows how to graduate.
They know ifthey have to graduate inthat year, stay forone more year, orstay fortwo years.
They start making deals with their family, andbegin enjoying school life. During this time, many relationships begin to form, butgrades begin to fall asa result.
Becauseof this, many of the third years are trying to run from the night study time! Butthe number of first years inthe Student Liberation Army just rose to 30 people (five joined), andonly seven of the second years are trying to run.
Even thoughthe key to our victory is atthe location of the second years
Yugrasia had a total of twelve floors, andfloors three to eight were used asclassrooms. The key to victory was atthe place wherethe first andthe third years could meet, the classes of the second years!
Not only that, unlike the first years, whose numbers only amounted to a hundred people, there were more thanthree hundred second years inthe school. Therefore, it could be said thatthe classes of the second years was wherethe sleeping dragon lay.
We can do it aslongasthe second years make their move. Afterall, most of the teachers thatteach the second years have to try to stop us from running away.
It was mentioned before, butthe third years are those whocould be called veteran summoners. They are also a grade thatcontains a host of people whostayed forfour to five years along with the most amount of students. Inother words, they are the strongest students inthe entire school. These students are dangerous evento the teachers! Afterall, this was the grade thatmanaged to get all the way down to the first floor from the eighth floor. Andsince theres up to eight hundred students inthis grade, many of the professors set up their defenses inthe seventh floor.
If the second years come with us, we can win.
But they are slaves to their grades.
The school changed. This means thatthe world of the students changed.
Inthe past, students could study forup to five years beforegraduating, butthings have changed. Stay ina place like this forfive years? Nonsense!
The third years whoplanned to study forone ortwo more years were currently crying tears of blood, andthe fifth years were wondering whythey decided to study forfive years whenthey couldve graduated intheir first year. Everyone was pretty much cursing their past selves forbeing solazy.
The second years thought the same aswell.
-If I stay here forone more year, I die!
Lets finish school inone year!
Forthe first time inhistory, all the second years were trying to graduate inthree years!
How are the test problems?
Nerkia, whotried to find the most peaceful solution to escaping, was unable to hide his shock atthe report he just got.
Ive tried requesting the Summoners Association andthe Magic Towers to take a look atit, butthey barely understood anything. According to my uncle, the answer to these problems are probably inNicerwins book of summoning
In other words, we cant graduate with this?
We might, aslongaswe stay here forten years.
Haha, the school would be gone by then. They wouldnt have graduates forten years, afterall. It would be faster to make the school go bankrupt.
Should we just shut down the school?
Oi, you idio
Nerkia, whowas just about to shoot out a stream of swears to the student whosaid this, felt some powerful realization strike his head.
-W, we can do that?!
T, thats genius?
Wait, hold on. Dont you guys get whythis happened?
Aris stopped everyone assoonasthe discussion turned into thatof how to end the school.
The school became like this becausethey were about to go down! What do you think theyd do iftheir situation became worse? Theyd get evenworse thannow!
No way theyd do that
Think about it. Our enemy is Nicerwin.
The title professor had disappeared a long time ago. Butthen again, students never addressed teachers by their title whentalking privately anyway!
Well, cant refute that.
Eh, ifthey make things worse thanthis
They would stop us from sleeping.
Mm we just have to give up sleep.
They might actually do that?
Since the facultys full of former soldiers, they should be able to stay up fora few nights?
Holy shit, they arent gonna let us sleep?
Silence!
Nerkia shouted whenthe meeting room began to get noisy. Wheneveryone turned towards him, Nerkia stood up from his spot, andbegan to speak.
There is no longer a place we can run to. It is true thatclasses got much better thanbefore. It is true thatwe are improving atgreat speeds. But our freedom is being sacrificed inthe process! Asstudents begin summoning extremely strong beasts, our complaints become meaningless. Now It is time forus to take back our freedom! Andtoday today is the day we begin our first battle!
A warmth began to rise up ineveryones chests. Right. Theyve realized something aftercountless tries of getting out. They cant win like this. They needed to do something new!
Comrades, today, we may have to sacrifice many of us. Many of our friends may fall inthis great battle. But! Each andevery one of our sacrifices will be the stepping stones to our freedom. Solet us fight! Let us fight against our tyrants! We will take back our freedom with our own hands!
-Uooooh!
Nerkias speech was able to rile up the morale of the students inthe room. Andwhen this morale reached its peak, Nerkia shouted.
We start atseven! Whenthe clock strikes seven, we all move simultaneously!
The resistance of the students was finally beginning to take form.
