Chapter 4.7

Chapter 4. Andso their story begins.(7)

Whos eloping with whohere?

You andI, of course.

I dont love you though?

The love I possess foryou is enough fortwo people, soits fine!

Words like these kept flying back andforth between us. What the hells up with thatlogic of enough love fortwo people anyway?

-This girls pretty scary. Seems like the type to stab you afterseeing you with a different girl.

[Stop. Thatactually seems way too likely.]

Whenthe girl approached me with widened eyes, I moved back andlifted the metal bat indefense.

If you keep coming this way Ill hit you.

Urk!

Cia jumped back several meters right whenthe silver club entered her vision.

Why is thataccused object here

Rudh was already beat by this thing.

Is he dead?

I decided to have mercy ashis former teacher, anddecided to just beat him up.

You shouldve taken mercy by ending him cleanly.

The girl said this evenasher eyes focused onto the bat.

Just leave thatuseless thing, andcome with me!

-U, useless?! You called me, the greatest weapon inthe world known asArcadia, useless?! Me, whos extremely cute andbeautiful? Me, whocan use all kinds of magic, transform to all kinds of different forms, andbecome a human aswell? Me, whocan absorb anduse magic by myself? Me, whos a, a..!

[Pervert.]

-Right! Pervert!Wait, no! What are you making me say?! Is this betrayal? Are you betraying me? Why?! I, it actually feels good?!

[]

Fora moment right there, I actually thought about throwing this thing away, butthe materials thatwent into making it were too precious Andthe cost of it is enough to buy an entire fief

I refuse.

Cias face hardened a little whenI said this.

-Master Im touched!

Its not becauseof you I just feel thatgoing with Cia would make my life really annoying.

Then Ill have to take extreme measures.

Snap!

With a snap of her finger, multiple shiny objects appeared from behind her. Ratherthanmagic, this is

Arrows?

Arrows andother weapons, to be more specific. We wont hit you directly, of course. Just a scratch should be enough to paralyze you completely.

-I was right! AsI thought, I was right! I knew it! This girl is scary!

I already knew thatshe was quite scary Butseeing her inaction is really frightening.

You cant use magic, becauseyou were cursed by god.

I dont really recall a moment whenI actually got cursed?

Im serious. EventhoughI look like this, I was able to remember everything from my birth. IfI really did get cursed, thatmeans thatI would have been cursed whenI was a fetus wouldnt thatbe too much?

Well, whocares. Anyway, teacher, you are a swordsman. A one thatlearned the sword, andonly the sword. Aslongasyou have the chance, you can kill any knight beforethey evenuse their life sword. Buteven you have a weakness. Andthat would be long distance attacks.

Correct.

Cias right. Inthe case of melee combat, I can just kill my opponents beforethey use their energy. Energy is like the life energy of this world, andit takes a bit of time beforeactually using it. Of course, it would be different forthose whoare atthe extremities of power, butits generally difficult to meet people like thatinthe first place.

Butwhat ifattacks were coming from a distance? Is there a way to block that? I can block some arrows with my weapon, buteven thathas a limit. Andif it can paralyze me with just a scratch, there really is no way to block it. Atleast, I cant.

Can I just surrender?

Surrender andrun, is it?

Cia grinned, andlifted her hand. Atthe same time, sounds of crossbows being loaded could be heard.

Just sleep a bit. Youll be inour new home whenyou wake up.

[I dont have a house though?]

-Ha, cant evenafford a house atthat age?

[Do you evenknow how expensive you are?]

-Kya! You spent all your money just formy body I, Im touched

Something just felt super wrong there, butlets just ignore that

Are you actually thinking of trying to deflect all these arrows?

Cia asked me this whenI lifted the metal bat. What, you think Im crazy? How the hell would I do that?

I guess you can try.

Snap!

The arrows began to fly whenher fingers snapped. It looks like these arrows are mostly coming formy limbs

[Lets go.]

-Im ready!

I swung the bat beforethe arrows got here. WhenI did so, a silver wave appeared onthe area the bat passed through.

W, what?!

An afterimage? Thats not it. The bats actually beginning to melt down like a liquid. Andthat liquid soon turned to form a wall right asthe arrows were about to strike!

-H, hurts! Somethings beating me

Everythings all good except those moans from the bat over there inany case, I began to move forward onceI confirmed thatall the arrows had been blocked.

The metal bat is no normal weapon. It is most definitely not fortraining purposes. The wooden bat was enough forthat. The real purpose of the metal bat was to serve asmy ultimate weapon ata time of crisis.

I cannot guarantee thatthis weapon is stronger thanany other, butI can guarantee thatit can protect you better thananything else inthe world.

With each step I took, the silver liquid wrapped around my body more andmore, andhardened.

-Hahn~ me andthe master are becoming one

Should I just take it off?

The arrows scare me quite a bit, soI suppose thats a no fornow.

W, whats that?

Cias looking surprised how rare.

Its an improved form of a homunculus memory form. With this, I am able to withstand attacks from evensiege weapons.

Fire andlightning magic wouldnt work either. Butthings like earth magic andexplosion magic can give me internal damage.

Shoot!

Cia blinked a few times, then issued a command whilebiting her lips.

-Run, oppa!

[Im no oppa, but lets go!]

I put pressure into my feet. Atthe same time, the armor-form bat began shining with a silver light.

-Faster thanany other! Different from any other! Haste!

[They say magic chants are based off of what you find to be the easiest, but thatchant seems to be some kind of a trap?]

-Who cares! Run, oppa!

Crack!

Huaaaaa!

I ran asthe magic activated. I passed by Cia, andas I did so, I gave the girl a light bonk onher head. Of course, this attack was reinforced with the power of the bat.

[Well just charge through.]

-Lets do this like a man!

Some magic spells came my way, butI was able to block most of it with the armor, andthose thatcouldnt be blocked were blocked with the magic cast by the bat.

The greatest advantage of ego weapons was thatthey could do things by themselves. SinceI was unable to evenactivate magic tools, I needed to get special tools developed to activate tools. Butwith the appearance of the ego weapon, the need forthat was gone. The dwarves seemed to have taken those activation tools andbegan to create stuff like refrigerators andother weird stuff out of them with the logo [Activate anything with just a click of a button!].

Of course, becausethe magic stones required to keep those tools running are soexpensive, only the rich seemed to be using it. Ah, actually, I think I heard something about wizards being able to recharge magic stones, thereby becoming able to use those tools forbasically free of charge.

Afterrunning full force, I eventually managed to see the door to the outside world. Of course, I gave the two guards guarding the doors a big whack with my fist.

OnceI entered the emergency shelter atthe end of the path, the armor turned back into a bat.

-Tired

The thing really did sound pretty tired. Eventhoughit can gather its own mana, it does have an upper limit. No, the only reason it could evenstore mana inthe first place was becauseI mixed ina bunch of expensive metals to make it.

Inother words, this thing is the ultimate result of throwing ina huge amount of cash. I never tested its limit, butit seems like this is it.

-If she follows us again, youre dead.

It sounded really worried. Eventhoughit looks like this, it teleported, turned into drumsticks, andturned into armor aswell. It can transform into just about anything, butdoing thatcosts a lot of mana.

[You worked hard.]

-W, whyare you being sonice all of the sudden?

[Because you deserve it.]

-Hnn, dont throw me into a dusty closet again, then, ok?

[That place is gone now, anyway.]

-Oh yeah.

I made small talk with the bat asI walked to the place whereI was supposed to meet Rein

Oh good, you did actually come this way.

Crack!

Kyeeeaahuaheaahaeaaa

Oops

I heard the same thing thatCia said a moment before, soI swung my bat out of instinct. Butthe one whowas rolling onthe ground turned out to be

So it was you, Rein.

Sorry.
