562 Countermeasures

My plan to take the form of an ouroboros and use one of my heads as a decoy has worked perfectly. Ive caught Lilixiras tail with my teeth.

Im in the form of an ouroboros, but of course, my partner hasnt returned. Im operating both heads as my own. Still, it somehow feels as though shes back.

Thank you, partner. You really do save me again and again.

Even now, if it wasnt for my partners influence, I might not have been able to attack so aggressively. Besides, the crux of this plan was of course my ouroboros form. If I hadnt chosen to evolve into an ouroboros back then, I would never have thought this plan so quickly.

Lilixira struggles, her four arms raining blows down on me. I feel my fangs snapping and my bones twisting.

Although a [Holy Naga] isnt the type to fight bare-handed, shes still a Legendary class monster. This rain of blows is more vicious than any Ive received before.

I wont let go so easily!

If I let go, shed escape with [Immortal Step] again and then keep her distance. My cheeks may be torn and my jaw shattered, but I wont release my grip.

As long as Im holding on, she cant use [Immortal Step]. From what the explanation said, it doesnt teleport her, but rather shrinks space. I dont know the full theory behind it, but unlike [Wormhole], I shouldnt have to worry about her escaping if I hold on.

Still biting into Lilixira, I slam her body against the cliff. I pick up speed, scraping her against the rock face. The friction tears away chunks of flesh.

Her blue blood splatters. I push her harder against the wall, breaking through rocks.

She raises her arms, and new chakrams of light appearing in her hands. If I keep this up, Ill get hit by the [Aparajitas].

I throw her against the cliff wall. The impact dents the cliff, creating a huge fissure. I twist in the air, slamming my tail into her. She raises her four arms to block, but my blow passes through to cliff behind her, causing a downpour of boulders.

Geh!

Blue blood drips from her mouth. She blocked, but it was still a heavy blow.

Great, I was able to deal a lot of damage! This can work. She still has a lot more MP left than me, but shes not unbeatable.

I try to immediately follow up with a [Dimension Claw], but she springs away from the wall with an [Immortal Step], her [Aprajita] chakrams still in hand.

Shes about to throw them, and shell use the space-warping [Immortal Step] to confuse their trajectories.

Ive seen it once before, but it all I could do was vanish with [Dragon Mirror]. But, that method of avoidance is costly, and leaves me vulnerable as I return. I cant afford to use it many times against her.

Lilixira releases the first two chakrams. They fly towards me from the left and right.

Perhaps due to [Immortal Step], their velocity seems to fluctuate wildly. Its should be different from teleportation, but its practically the same. Their paths are too nonsensical. No matter how many times I see this attack, I wont be able to grow used to it.

Slowing down, I use [Dragon Mirror] to take my baby dragon form. By presenting a smaller target, I should be able to reduce the danger of a direct hit. In exchange, the damage if I am hit will be so severe that Ill become unable to move, but I need to accept some risk.

The disks of light pass above and below me. It was closer than I had thought. Since Lilixira can distort space around her, it seems she can not only obscure their trajectories, but also correct them. It wasnt precise enough for her to hit me this time, but it was close.

She throws the remaining two chakrams. I try to move away, but she timed it for a moment when I was off-balance!

No My strength might be reduced a lot in my current body, but my magic hasnt changed! I release [Gravity]. A sphere of black light expands out from me, and the [Aprajita] chakrams dip down as they get close.

The two chakrams of light pass below me.

It worked! Through [Dragon Mirror] and [Gravity], I can just barely deal with her combo of [Immortal Step] and [Aprajita].

Lilixiras brows furrow as she stares at me.

I can see a path to survival. At first she seemed invincible, but if I can break even at medium range, I should be able to win up close. And, the core of her medium distance strategy, [Immortal Step] and [Aparajita], arent without weaknesses to exploit.

Ill be forced to keep taking gambles, but this MP difference isnt insurmountable.
