Old Tortoise screamed in fear out of the blue. Though the old man wasn’t great in combat, his mind and wits were outstanding; everyone had been cheering Long Aotian on while he alone was watching their surroundings with his keen eyes.

“What?!” Surprised, Long Aotian, quickly looked to his left, and his vision was soon filled with the sight of an unknown black phantom shooting towards him.

*Wham!*

Long Aotian was stunned in an instant as he felt the sensation of a foot striking his handsome face.

The shoe was quite small; it caught just half of Long’s face.

A woman’s shoe.

That was Long’s last thought as he felt the world spin.

Sent flying ten meters away like a meteor, Long Aotian hit the ground and formed a crater as he landed.

“Master! Master…”

“My goodness… Am I seeing this right… Our master was blown away with a single kick!”

“I’m scared… Our master was the strongest! And he didn’t even get to hit back!”

“We’d be dead if that were any of us!”

The Hundred Beasts Faction were astounded. They can’t quite believe what they were seeing!

Old Tortoise recognized her immediately.

“Twenty thousand?! That is insane…”

Though most of the onlookers were shocked that a single kick had defeated Long Aotian, they now learned that Luo Puti was actually being merciful. She could have killed him with a single kick if she wanted to!

Ten thousand combat power versus twenty thousand combat power! They were of totally different worlds and incomparable!

Meanwhile, Long Aotian had his knees on the ground, and began to vomit blood. Suffering from an extreme headache and dizziness, he barely had the strength to get back to his feet.

“Bao Linshuang… You a.s.shole… Why didn’t you tell me your sister is Luo Puti! I would not have attacked you if you said so!” Long Aotian was frustrated. Most of the people in Dragon City knew her, and he would not have went up against her even if he had b.a.l.l.s of steel!

“Listen up! All of you!” Luo Puti stepped up and told them sternly. “The key to Emperor Yan’s tomb had been handed over by Chen Xiaobei and Murong Xiaoyao to the government! From this moment forth the tomb is official government business! Failure to comply is punishable by death!”

Members from the five factions retreated over ten meters at her words. Luo Puti had made herself quite clear; none of them had the guts to challenge her authority.

“Inspector Luo had her say! We have to obey her! Pull back!” Old Tortoise said as he prepared to lead the members of Hundred Beasts Faction back where they came from.

“Hold on!” Chen Xiaobei shouted all of a sudden.

“Inspector Bao, how may we a.s.sist you?” Old Tortoise said politely while the rest of the six members bowed reverently as if they were Chen Xiaobei’s grandchildren.

“You people! I want all of you to slap yourself ten times! And then get lost!” the enforcer ordered.

“That… May I ask why?” Old Tortoise was shocked, and clearly not too happy about it.

“Why? You guys were just talking about g.a.n.g.b.a.n.ging my sister not too long ago! I remember those words!” Chen Xiaobei glared at them coldly. It was definitely a non-negotiable order.

“This…”

The Hundred Beasts Faction were stunned. However, they could not deny that they had been vocal in their intentions to violate Luo Puti. All of them stole a glance at her only to find that the Ice Demon Queen was positively furious.

Obviously, they were scared to death.

“Are you going to slap yourself or not? Don’t waste my time! My sister is getting impatient!” Chen Xiaobei said, raising his eyebrows. “Think about it! Do you really think that ten slaps outweigh your lives? Am I asking too much here?”

“No… Not at all… We will slap ourselves now…”

All of them were seriously frustrated, but none had the guts to bargain in front of the Ice Demon Queen!

All of them – including the respectable Old Tortoise – raised their hands and began to slap themselves. Worried that the pair might not be happy with the way they slapped themselves, all of them put their backs into it – so much so that their faces became swollen in a purple hue.

“We… We have done slapping ourselves…” Old Tortoise said with a teary face.

“Get lost if you’re done!” Chen ordered, rolling his eyes. “Remember what my sister had said! She will slay those who steal from the tomb!”

“Yes… We remember…” All of them nodded, not daring to say another word.

“Let’s go in.” Luo Puti said casually as she headed for the tomb, with Chen Xiaobei at her heels like a loyal dog.

They reached a thirty-meters-long hallway after walking past a wall that was five-meters thick; they had finally arrived at the core of the mountain.

There was a huge stone door by the end of the hallway. An artistic impression of nine dragons fighting for a single dragon ball was carved out on the stone door; a majestic scene.

“Take out the jade seal and the safety jade pendant.”

Upon closer observation, Luo Puti found square and round slots on the dragon ball; those were keyholes.

“Nice!”

Chen Xiaobei had carried his backpack with him today so that n.o.body could see him operate his cellphone. He kept it in his backpack, which in turn allows him to pick stuff out from his treasure chest under concealment.

And he would not need to worry about Luo Puti learning his secrets.

“Here you go! I think we can just slot in these two items into the keyholes.”

Chen Xiaobei glanced at the keyholes before pus.h.i.+ng the jade seal into the square keyhole, and the safety pendant into the round keyhole!

Both of them heard a loud click, and a crack formed around the dragon ball.

“Try turning it,” Luo Puti suggested.

“Alright!”

Chen used both his hands to grab hold of the huge dragon ball and quickly rotated it.

The stone door opened automatically just like in the movies. All that lay within the tomb was now within reach.

“That…”

Stunned at the scene that welcome them, Chen and Luo stared blankly ahead.

Outside the tomb, Long Aotian finally recovered the from the Ice Demon Queen’s kick. He stared at the entrance of the tomb in anger.

He had come expressively to the Green Vine Province for Emperor Yan’s tomb! And then Luo Puti came and simply took everything away from him after all the effort he made to locating the tomb. It was as if someone stole his life savings!

“Poison Rat! How many Flaming Pills do you have with you right now?” he asked coldly.

“Five! Other than Savage Cow, Old Tortoise and me, you guys can have one each!”

“Give it to me!” Long extended his hands to Poison Rat.

“Master! Please think about it!” Old Tortoise quickly interrupted him. “Flaming Pills may increase your combat power for three days but its side effects are not something that should be messed around with!”

“I thought about it! My body could recover after suffering the side effects, and an opportunity like this will be gone forever if we don’t grab it now!”

“But… Your combat power will only be boosted to twelve thousand! You still can’t defeat Luo Puti!” Old Tortoise added hesitantly.

“Savage Cow is gone, we can count him out! And there are five people here, plus your wittiness and Poison Rat’s poison. I say we have the chance to take out Luo Puti!” Long Aotian continued determinedly. “Let’s go for it! We might be able to turn a bicycle into a motorcycle! Pebbles into boulders! As long as we kill Luo Puti, we will be able to rule the world!”

“Yes, master! Wealth on this scale can only be acquired with risk! We are more than willing to take the risk!”

All of them hailed from Jianghu; most of them had been through life-threatening situations.

And with greed being the motivator, none of them protested against Long Aotian’s decision.

Chapter 330: Eight Hundred Bronze Soldiers

A vast arena lay beyond the stone door; the floor had been garnished with white marble trimmed on each end to form an octagonal shape.

In ancient times, construction of such scale in the absence of heavy machinery was almost a miracle; but what amazed Chen Xiaobei and Luo Puti were the eight hundred bronze soldiers that stood in the arena! They bore a stark resemblance to the Terracotta Soldiers of the Qin Dynasty, and appeared to have been buried together with the king.

Though ancient, their armor looked brand new; dried corpses lay within every set, each reminiscent of mummies. The skin and muscles of those remains were completely dried but their bodies did not have a hint of decomposition. What’s more, their skin glistened with an ancient bronze; they were indeed copper corpses!

“This is amazing!” Luo Puti uttered in wide-eyed wonder.

“What? What did you find?” Chan Xiaobei asked.

“Every single one of them had been trained in some sort of body-enhancement skill before they died! Their health would have been around ten thousand! That was why their bodies did not decompose even after they died!” Luo explained.

“Wow! That’s awesome!” Chen Xiaobei’s face was lit, his tone chipper. “If all these soldiers were already so formidable, could you even imagine how powerful the king was? The world would have trembled at his martial arts!”

“This is not the time for that!” Luo Puti frowned. “Take a look around. Do you see any exits?”

Chen Xiaobei swept his gaze across the arena. It was indeed a closed s.p.a.ce with no obvious escape route; there weren’t objects that looked like coffins either. “You’re right… Perhaps we need to solve some puzzle here to unlock the next door!”

“You should wait here if that’s the case. I will go down and check things out,” Luo Puti said as she headed for the arena.

“I’ll help,” Chen said.

“That’s not necessary! I’ll be very happy if you could just mind your own business!” Luo retorted without turning to him.

“F*ck! How dare she underestimate me? Don’t come looking for me when you get into trouble!” Chen pouted, folding his arms as he watched the scene unfold.

Something happened the moment Luo stepped on the floor of the arena in her high heels.

A cold wind came in out of nowhere! The temperature of the arena dropped significantly as the wind entered the copper corpses.

Soldiers who died hundreds of years ago came to life in the blink of an eye! All of them drew their knives that looked brand new just like their armor! The blades were even sharp enough to cut through metal.

Some of them looked special; those had eyes filled with blue flame, and each had a piece of jade resembling puzzle that hung on the center of their helms.

“I should be able to unlock the next door after collecting those eight jade pieces!”

Luo Puti was, after all, a senior inspector of the Six Door Organization. She had seen enough bizarreness throughout her career, which in turn allows her to stay calm in all situations. And now, not only was she unafraid of those copper soldiers, she figured out the puzzle in split seconds.

“Puti! Please be careful! Those copper soldiers are really powerful!”

All the while, Chen Xiaobei stood outside the arena and kept shouting at Luo.

“Evil spirits are possessing those eight special copper soldiers! Don’t get careless!”

A warmth whelmed within Luo Puti from Chen Xiaobei’s words, although she chose to flaunt herself instead. “Hmph! I don’t need you to remind me! Feast your eyes as I solve this puzzle! I’m a million times your superior in combat power!”

The eight hundred copper soldiers quickly surrounded Luo.

“Kid’s play! Let me start with you!”

Luo ‘s eyebrows twitched. She dashed for the copper soldier that stood in front of her, while those copper soldiers lunged at her with their swords in return.

Their combat power was somewhat average – numbering only around five thousand – but Luo was flesh and blood. Though she possessed immense power, she would still get hurt when the swords landed on her.

And even an army of ants could defeat an elephant! It would be fatal for Luo Puti if she got hundreds of papercuts.

Luo Puti herself was aware of the threat. She quickly lowered herself and drew the dagger that she hid in her boots; wrapping it in white and icy True Qi, beautiful curves formed in the air as she waved it around.

The sound of metal colliding echoed; hundreds of swords were repelled.

“d.a.m.n! That True Qi is so concentrated, it’s almost tangible!”

Chen Xiaobai exclaimed in surprise as he kept observing the True Qi. “It’s Yang Ice! It’s no wonder that Xiaobai always sticks to Puti! They have the same attribute!”

“Eh? Where are the soldiers?”

Luo muttered as she kicked away the swords that surround her. She then found that one of the leading soldiers that she had locked on too had already changed positions.

“It seems like these copper soldiers are no brainless puppets! I have to do better!”

Luo focused and swung her dagger at the copper soldiers that stood near her.

“Wind!”

The dagger splits open a copper soldier’s stomach.

Luo Puti leapt into the air and landed a kick on another copper soldier. Using its skull as a jumping point before landing another kick on a second copper soldier. Both of them were sent flying at the others like meteors; the force causing a large group of those minions to drop on the floor.

Luo Puti was truly formidable as she activated her rampage mode to wipe out every copper soldier around her as she sent them streaking through the air. However, there was a lingering worry in her mind.

“This is weird. Why are the soldiers that I’ve pummeled still attacking me…? And their leaders just keep moving around; It is tough for me to lock on to them…” she thought, frowning.

She has the upper hand, but the eight hundred soldiers were virtually indestructible, and were not afraid of dying! They were keeping up their offense with their swords, even when their heads have already been knocked off.

Scary wouldn’t be enough to describe the scene. Luo’s True Qi was limited; sooner or later, her True Qi would run dry! Even if she had three heads and six arms, her weakness would be uncovered eventually in this attritional battle!

A happy voice could be heard laughing, and Luo Puti finally felt that she could depend on a certain person!
