"Drop-dead gorgeous indeed," Stan said out of the blue and everyone in the room was shocked especially his wife and Anna .

Layla knows that her husband is only saying this without any other meaning . After all, she knew that her husband likes to appreciate beautiful things, whether its a living being or just a thing . What displeases Layla is the fact that her husband is not careful of what he says; sure it sounds like a compliment and all but her husband should have known that the person he just complimented is not the type of a person who likes to be complimented . The state Anna is in right now is in an awkward state and she might be thinking of running away .

Layla pinches the s.p.a.ce between her brows and cough two times to get her husbands attention .

Hearing his wife's cough he immediately look at her with a worried look . "Are you sick? Should I bring you to the hospital?" Layla smiled at the way how her husband is frantic about her well-being .

Advertis.e.m.e.nt"No need . I just want you to shut your mouth . " Layla ruthlessly said to him . Even though she is pleased with him for being worried about her well-being that doesn't mean that their guest is not in an awkward state because of her husband . However, she is quite confused for someone like Anna; she should've blush or be bashful by what her husband just said but it seems like Anna doesn't like to be complimented . 'How peculiar . '

As Layla finishes her sentence Stan immediately closes his mouth . 'What did I do?' He asks himself .

Anna composed herself from being in an awkward state and smiled sweetly at two people in front of her . "It's nice to see you again Mr . Robertson . Mrs . Robertson, it's nice to finally meet you in person . "

The way Anna said it it was full of elegance and politeness . Mr . and Mrs . Robertson was pleased by Anna's mannerism . Layla and Stan flashed a smile and so did Lannie; Lannie was about gesture Anna to sit down but her father suddenly pulls her near her mother . "Where on earth is your brother?" He asked in a low tone that only Lannie and Layla could hear .

Now that Stan knows who is the girl that her daughter is mentioning, he suddenly got the feeling that maybe Lannie is right . Maybe his daughter is right about Anna and might be his future daughter-in-law, after all, he has been eyeing Anna to be the next hostess in the Robertson family in the future since the moment he saw Anna in her grandfather's birthday party .

Lannie frowned at the question her father just asked . "Isn't that what I just asked to the both of you moments ago?" Sometimes Lannie thinks that her father is stupid sometimes . She just asked that same question to her mother and father and none of them knows the answer and yet now this father of hers just literary ask the same question . If she asked them then that means that she doesn't know the answer either . Why ask her?

"Brat . . . " Stan gritted his teeth as he said this he couldn't finish his sentence . Sometimes his daughter is too much for him to handle .

Lannie got out from her father's grip and gesture Anna to sit down . As both of them sat down Lannie just realize that Anna is holding a box . "What's in it?" Lannie asked .

"Cake," Anna said as she let Lannie took the box in her hands .

Lannie opened the box and she saw a well-made cake and the smell is good too; she's betting that this cake will taste good too . "Where did you buy it?" She asked with a curious look .

"I-I made it . " Anna is actually proud of that cake in Lannie's hands . Out of all the cakes that she made yesterday that is the only cake that's perfect and the rest was all burn or not bake well . The only thing that Anna is not sure of is the taste of the cake .

"You made it?" Lannie asked making sure she didn't mishear it . Anna nodded and Lannie knows that Anna is not the type of a person that would take credit for someone's work so she immediately believed Anna . Suddenly Lannie remembers Anna's reason for being here and a huge smile appeared in her face . "Is this for my brother?"

"Well . . . Yes, it's a thank you cake . " After Anna said this her eyes wonder searching for the person she's supposed to say thanks to .

Lannie noticed Anna's eyes were wandering around and knew it right away that she's searching for her brother . "I'm sorry Anna, my brother not is here yet and I don't know what time or day he will be back . B-but, don't worry I'll make sure that my brother will receive your hand-made cake . " Even though Lannie is saying this in a sorry tone but deep inside of her she's burning in anger and disappointment . Her brother really did this on purpose on her and she's gonna make him pay for it .

When Anna heard that she was quite pleased but at the same time she a big disappointment in her heart . She didn't realize it yet but deep inside she really wants to see Kyle again and that's a big problem that Anna needs to figure it out to herself in the near future . "N-no, it's fine . Maybe he's busy . "

Time pa.s.ses by Kyle is still not home yet and this only made Lannie angrier and angrier as the time pa.s.ses . Her brother totally ruined her plan for Anna's visit and he's gonna for it .

"I should get going now . I have a date with my mom and brother . " Anna said as she looks at the time on her phone . Even though Kyle is not present Anna had a good time getting along with Lannie and her parents . And for her, the time she spent here didn't go to waste, she might not have seen Kyle today but she got this feeling that he will be seeing him again soon .
