497 Revenge 498: The Leader For This Mission

The people he targeted so far are all scary looking and miscreant looking people. Just looking at this person's face makes Aaron lose his interest in this mission.

"Looks can be deceiving, brother." Anna agrees with her brother, but when she thought about it more deeply, sometimes, a person's face can deceiving. It's better to put their guards up until the end of this mission.

"Anna's right," Lucia said, then she hands over the folder to the twins. "This guy does human trafficking for a living. That's where he gets his money and using his looks of his, most people think that he is easy to fool, especially women, but in all truth, he is the one fooling them."

"Heh. This is quite interesting." Aaron muttered. People trying to deceive the other, but in the end, they were the ones being deceived. 'Why do some people do this? Why can't they just live a life without trying to trick other people.'

"Is there anything that we should be worried about? Once we get there?" Lucia told some information about the target, but not enough information if there is something they should be on a lookout for. Not having enough information bout their target is making Anna feel uneasy.

"Not really. I went through all the files about him, and there is nothing that can put us at a disadvantage." Although this mission is not as dangerous as the ones she took before, she put a lot of effort into investigating this man.

She hates people who use this kind of method just to fill their pockets. And with that, she will use whatever she can give just to eliminate him.

"His place is easy to get in. There are two guards outside of his bedroom, a few all around the mansion, and a few outside patrolling the surrounding." Ophius gave the details, and the twins stared at Lucia for not even bothering mentioning that.

"What? Why are two looking at me like that?" She asked. She has no idea what she has done to make them look at her with such expression.

"You forgot to mention that? You're the one who invited us here, and that would mean that in this mission, you are our leader. It's your responsibility to mention those things." Aaron said in a matter-of-fact tone. To think that Lucia just said that there is nothing for them to worry about.

"Eh...? Me? The leader? Are you being serious?" Lucia is bewildered that Aaron said that she is the leader for this mission.

Even though she and Aaron argue on who should be leading when it is just the two of them, it does not mean that she is being serious and Aaron knows that. She is the follower type. She never once thought of herself being the leading type and even if she does, she will never do it.

"Yes, you." Ophius noticed that Lucia is slightly panicking and that somewhat surprised him. He never saw Lucia panicked like this. She always has been the confident type, and that is what he likes about her.

This new side of her, makes him see a new light on her. 'I never knew you could get like this, Lucia.'

"Uh... I'm afraid, I have to refuse that t.i.tle." Lucia awkwardly said. "I'd rather have Aaron or Ophius be the leader."

"Are you being serious right now, Lucia? You do know that in the future you have to be one, right? Just think of this as some sort of practice or something." Aaron doesn't like it when the confident Lucia that he knows that backs down like this just because she is appointed as their leader for this mission.

Even his mother told him once that Lucia could become a great team leader if she only steps up her game or even shows it to everyone. But now, Lucia is purposely not doing any of that. She likes to keep herself in the same position until the end.

"You don't get it, Aaron. I'm not the right person for that kind of job."

"Yes. I don't get it. So please, explain it to me." Lucia may have not noticed it, but whenever they are together in a mission, Aaron tries to find a way for Lucia to show her all of her potentials. And every time, she manages to avoid it.

"Hey, you should say something, or else, this will turn out very badly," Ophius whispered to Anna. In his opinion, the only one who can stop Aaron and Lucia from arguing is Anna.

"What? Me? Why would you think that I can reason with those two? They both are stubborn people. Once they made up their minds it's hard to change it. And even if there is a chance, it will take longer and we don't have that much time today." For Ophius to asked her to do such a thing is ridiculous and there is a chance that she might get involved, which is something she doesn't want to happen.

"Come on. Lucia likes you a lot, like really, and your brother listens to your words. Between the two of us, who do you think has the most power?" In honesty, Ophius thinks that it would be better if Anna were the one leading them since both Aaron and Lucia will most likely listen to everything that Anna will say.

"Don't use that on me, Ophius." Anna also thinks that same as Ophius. She thinks that it would be better if she's the leader for this mission, however, it doesn't seem right. "I'm unwillingly going to share my opinion, are you happy now?" She asked.

"Very. Now, do it." Ophius revealed a smile, but that smile only put a frown on Anna's face.

"You know..." She started. "I think my brother is right, Lucia. If every mission that you do is successful, and when the elders see it, they're going to put you as the leader whether you like it or not. It's better for you to have an experience on how to lead a team on this one for future reference." Once she and her brother take over the organization, without even discussing, it has already been decided that one day, Lucia and Ophius will lead their own team.

"Even you, Anna? Can't you-"

"No, Lucia. I won't. Unlike other people, I'm not going to use my position as one of the future leaders of the organization to force you to do things. Persuasion and a reasonable statement is the only thing that I can use against you to agree with me."

Lucia stared at Anna's face, then to Aaron's. She can see that there is no way for her to convince the twin to not put her in such a position. The only hope she has now is Ophius. He may not look like it, but he is really good at making people change their minds.

Noticing that look Lucia is giving to him, Ophius puts on his stern face. "Lucia, I'm on their side. I can't do anything for you."

"Fine!" She angrily said. "But if we fail this mission and got ourselves into trouble, I'm going to blame the three of you for it." Lucia thinks that the twins and Ophius have lost their minds for forcing her to be their leader.

It's clear as day that she is not fit for that kind of job, and yet they stubbornly believe that she can do it. 'Even my own parents don't believe that.'

It only for a few seconds, but Ophius clearly saw the sadness in Lucia's eyes. That's the first time he saw it, and for some reason, his heart aches for her. 'The heck. Why did I feel that way?'

Back at where Nathalia and the others are, they are all wondering where the twins are at.

"Hey, Leon, do you have any idea where the twins are at? They didn't come to our cla.s.s." Nathalia asked as soon as Leon sat right in front of her.

"Hmm? I don't know, but I did saw the twins with some students from our rival school."

"Say what? Where? And why?" Lucia is the only person that Nathalia knows from their school's rival. The thought of Aaron and Lucia being together in who-knows-where is making her feel uneasy.

'Nathalia, you can't be like this. Stop imagining things. Besides, Anna is there, I'm sure she won't let anything happen between those two.' Nathalia inwardly said to herself.

"I said, I saw the twins talking with some students from our school's rival. I saw them behind the school building. And I have no idea what they were talking about." Leon answered Nathalia's question with an annoyed tone. He is trying to eat his food in peace yet, Nathalia is pestering him for answers.

"Why didn't you ask?"
