375 Revenge 376: You're Pathetic

"Maybe, maybe not. We can't just blame someone without any evidence, Leon. You, out of all the people in this room, should know that well." Since her uncle Alfonso came to her rescue, Anna doesn't care about the one who hid her gown anymore.

As long as everything goes smoothly, Anna would not let anyone's glares or talks affect her. Seeing how excited her uncle Alfonso is, Anna has no choice but to do her best to win.

"Why didn't you tell me that you're a part of this event?" From the way Alfonso is talking, Anna can tell that her uncle is sulking.

Feeling awkward, Anna showed a smile to him and explained herself. "You are pretty busy around these days, and I don't want to disturb you." Knowing her uncle Alfonso, Anna knows that he will come to her right away and prepare her for this day. He always pushes his things aside and tends to put her first.

"Anna, you know very well that to me, you're like a daughter. Of course, no matter how busy I am, I will always put you, your brother, my sister's children, and Alexandre first. Always." Before Alexandre came into his life, Alfonso always thought that there is no way for him to have a child of his own. That is why he chose to love his sister's children and the twins like his own.

The moment he Alexandre entered his life, he was surprised and didn't know what to do. He has experience take care of others' children, but when it comes to his, he is having second thought if what he is doing is the best thing for his son.

Despite his second thoughts, he is still trying his best to give his son the best thing he could offer.

"Speaking of Alexandre, uncle. Where is he now?" As far as Anna knows, her uncle Alfonso is not planning on hiring any nanny for Alexandre. Thinking about what happened not too long ago, Anna guesses that it's very understandable if his uncle doesn't want to hire a nanny for Alexandre.

"He's with my sister, I leave him there when I have to go to work." Since he decided not to hire a nanny for his son, it has been quite a challenge for him. To him, not trusting any strangers to take care of his son is one of his reasons, but his reason is that he wants to take of his son by himself. He wants to experience the struggles of being a parent.

Apparently, with the new upcoming release of his new clothing line, he has been so busy that he has to leave his son to his sister. Of course, he still makes time for him.

"Is this your free time?" Anna asked.

"Yes. I only got two hours of free time."

"Uncle! You should be spending your free to Alexandre, not to me." Now, Anna feels guilty that she didn't think of things that might happen today, like what happened to her gown. If she had been cautious about anything that might happen, then her teacher wouldn't have to call her uncle, and her uncle would have been spending his time with Alexandre.

"No. It's alright. I mean, even if you are not partic.i.p.ating in this event, I would have still come. After all, it's your teacher we're talking about. I owe her too much. You could say that I'm guilty and this is my way to pay back for everything that I've done to her." Alfonso spoke in a sad tone. Whether Anna is partic.i.p.ating in this event or not, Alfonso still comes here for Keila.

It has been a long time since he and Keila talked. And all this time, all he wants is to remove that guilt that he's been feeling.

"I've been wondering," Leon who has been listening quietly suddenly spoke. "What is the connection between you and my teacher." While he was listening to their conversation, Leon noticed that change in Alfonso's tone of voice when he mentioned his teacher.

As soon as Alfonso is done adjusting Anna's gown, he patted Leon's head and said, "That's a story for another time, kid."

Leon wanted to convince Alfonso to tell him the story, but Keila suddenly appeared in front of them. "All is done?" She asked and Alfonso nodded. "Good. Two of you, get on to your position and win this for our cla.s.s!"

"Well, since my job here is done, I have to go. I still have a little bit of time left, but that is enough for me to see my son." Alfonso mumbled his last sentence, however, Keila was able to hear it.

With a shocked expression on her face, she asks him, "You have a son?" From the way she asked it, it seems like she doesn't want to believe it. Deep inside, she is hoping that she only misheard him.

"I do. I was planning on introducing you to him the next time we meet again, but I guess that the surprise is ruined." For some reason, awkwardness filled the air between them. Throughout the years of them knowing each other, this is the first time that they felt such awkwardness.

"W-Well, I guess that I should meet this son of yours soon. I wanna know what happened." Keila tried her best to put on an expression that she's really curious about what Alfonso went through.

Despite her efforts, Alfonso can see right through her. He doesn't even know what to say to her now.

Seeing that Alfonso is hesitating to leave, Keila pushed him out of the room. Before she shuts the door, she said, "I'm alright, Alfonso. Go. Your son needs you."

After she said that, she didn't give Alfonso the chance to say goodbye to her and shuts the door immediately. All alone in the room, Keila went and faces the mirror. She sees her reflection. She also sees her tears flowing down. At such sight, she could not help but scoff at herself.

"You're pathetic. You haven't changed one bit, Keila."  She mumbled.

While the event is still happening, the Colemans and the Robertson siblings accidentally meet each other.

"Kyle! It's so good to see you. How long has it been since the last time I saw you?" Mary excitedly asked. Knowing that Kyle is here, Mary can only think of one thing: Kyle is here to support her daughter.

Little action that Kyle is doing is enough to earn points from her. If Kyle kept on doing these kinds of supportive actions, Mary might only want Kyle to be her son-in-law.

"It hasn't been that long, Aunty." As far as Kyle can remember, he thinks that the last time that they saw each other was the dinner night between their families.

Kyle couldn't hide the fact that he is happy that Mary is already treating him like family. His reputation in Mary's eyes is slowly increasing, and that really pleases him.

"Brat, can you not call my wife your aunty. It's not really pleasing to my ears." Arion knows that his wife is starting to want Kyle to be their daughter's future husband, and isn't pleasing him at all. He wants his wife to at least give some tests to Kyle, but no, Kyle's little actions are enough to please his wife.

"Shut up, you," Mary said, then she glared at Arion. "Don't mind him, Kyle. As a matter of fact, you can start calling me 'Mom' now."

Hearing that, Marcus also added a comment, "You can also call me 'grandpa'."

"Father! No! Why are you being nice to this brat? Can't you see that he's trying to steal our princess from us." Arion can't believe that his father, the cold-hearted person he knows, is actually being nice to Kyle. On top of that, he is even allowing Kyle to call him Grandpa.

"Being treated like I'm a part of your family is very flattering. Thank you for that." With so much happiness inside him, Kyle let out a smile. A smile that even his little sister is in shock to see him smile like that.

'I've never seen him smile like that. Never.' Lannie inwardly said. For some reason, she felt creep out by her brother's smile. Her brother's smile can enlighten any girls' day, however, that kind of smile is not the same smile she's used to.

Aaron who is enjoying seeing his father get himself worked-up suddenly got an idea. "Does that mean we're brothers now?"

"What? You too? Aaron, seriously?" Arion knows that his son is still not sure about Kyle and he is okay about that, but to think that his son would play along with his wife and father is really making sad.
