Chapter 342 - Revenge 343: Own Experience

"Kill me?" Arion asked as if he is surprised. "Layla, your brother, Alfonso, can't even put a scratch on me. What are the chances of you killing me?" From way back, Arion has observed Layla and Alfonso, and since then, he noticed that Alfonso is always holding himself back from his sister.

He can tell that Alfonso is way stronger than Layla, and he also sure that Layla knows that fact.

"That may be true, but there is someone who can put a scratch on you. And I think you know that person." Layla said referring to Arion's wife. Though there are others who can put a scratch on Arion, Mary is still the one who can do that so easily. It's because Arion will let her, it's because Mary has quick reflexes.

Before they even got together Mary and Arion got into a fight. And that is how Layla knows about this fact. They were enemies to the first time they met.

"Now, now. That is enough, Layla." Elijah's voice is heard. "We are here to enjoy each other's company, not kill each other. If you want to kill him, do it later." If his daughter-in-law and Arion keep on bickering to each other, the people who work in this mansion will start to notice and talks will be all over the place.

"Elijah is right. And we should go and start heading towards the dining room." Outside the room that they are in, Marcus noticed Tess signaling him that dinner is ready and that they should go and eat.

Without waiting for others to stand up, Marcus took the lead.

Both Robertsons and Colemans seated on separate sides. However, it was only Kyle and Anna who decided to sit next to each other. The people who are present all sorts of feelings seeing them two next to each other. One particular person is not happy about it, but he can't do anything about either, two particular people are happy seeing their beloved boy making progress, while the others, they plan not to pay too much attention to how lovely Anna and Kyle look together.

"So, Anna what did you found out about Juan?" Marcu asked. "Is he alive or dead?" Every time that Marcus thinks about that person, his blood boils in anger. He blames himself for almost making his granddaughter marry such a person. It's a good thing that Kyle is a persistent person, and managed to sway him in his decision.

When he heard that there is a big possibility of Juan being alive, he has this urge to kill Juan by his own hands. He let Juan fool him, and he cannot let Juan getaway just like that. The debt must be paid.

"Oh, he's alive alright. I just saw him earlier with that cat who scratched my face." Anna can sense that anger in her grandfather's tone of voice. And she is not surprised because her grandfather tends to hold a grudge on someone who dares to fool him. But truth to be told, her grandfather is also at fault since he let himself be fooled by Juan.

"You should have eliminated that person right there and then," Marcus said full of viciousness in his tone.

"Grandfather, if my sister has to do that work earlier, then she and I will be super late for this dinner. And we both know that there is someone who does not like late arrivals." Aaron said nonchalantly, and apparently, his words directly stabbed that person. It is as if Aaron is blaming that person that Anna can't find the time to kill Juan.

"Are you referring to me, young man?" Elijah asked with his left brow arched.

"To you? I guess I am referring to you." Aaron didn't like the way Elijah Robertson is treating his sister earlier. They were only late for almost five minutes, why does he have to confront him and his sister like that?

Does he dislike the Colemans that much that he would make bad comments so that Kyle will no longer glance at Anna? That question is running through is his head is making him want to embarra.s.s Elijah and shove every word that he said to his sister into that mouth of his.

"I see," Elijah said. He turns his attention towards Marcu, and continued, "I guess, you grandson got your forwardness and have no sense of caution towards his words." Just like how Aaron talks back to him, that is exactly that same as how Marcus was back then.

Marus always says whatever comes to his mind. That's one of the characteristics that he hates about him.

"Every generation of Colemans is like that, Elijah. There is nothing I can do to change that." Marcus fully understands why his grandson talked back to Elijah, and surely, he has no intention of scolding Aaron just because of that because he, himself, didn't like it either.

"You can do it if you just try. Like always, you never try."

"Oh, please. I don't want to be like you." In some ways he is strict, but it's not to the point like Elijah is. Ever since Elijah's sister died, Elijah changed drastically. He became so distant and strict to everyone around him.

"It's not about being like me, Marcus. It's about teaching our younger generation to be better than us." In Elijah's point of view, he is only strict because he wants his family's younger generation to be more cautious than he was in the past. He wants them to learn from his mistakes.

From what he can see, Aaron and Anna have the biggest potential out of all the Colemans he has seen in his life. With both of them standing side by side, they both can dominate the business world and the underground organization by themselves.

At such an early age, they already a unique way of doing things by themselves. Without asking Marcus, Elijah can already tell that the twins are a part of the Coleman organization now. Usually, he would ask why would Marcus let his grandchildren be part of the organization at such a young age, but he held himself back.

He is in no position on commenting in Marcus' choice, when he, himself, let Kyle join the Robertson organization at an early age too.

"Teaching them to be better than us, is the right thing to do. But, Elijah, sometimes letting the children learn from their mistakes is better." Telling them to learn from their mistake is also the right way, but learning from their own experience is better. They get to feel what it is firsthand.
