Chapter 274 - Revenge 275: Let Her Brother Have It All

"What should we do now, husband?" James' wife asked worriedly. The heirloom neck is the only way for them to take over the Coleman family business. Without it, the elders who stand beside the Coleman family for generations won't be on their side.

"We'll approach the other plan: kill that so-called father of mine," James said in a menacing tone.

Anna and Aaron heard that loud and clear, and they were both shocks by it. Anna already knows that her uncle James is planning to kill her grandfather, but hearing it from her uncle James' very voice is still shocking.

Gloria sighed deeply and said, "I guess that's the only choice we have now." Although Gloria is not against that plan, she thinks that the plan will not work because even if they manage to kill Marcus Coleman, they won't be able to have the family business in their hands. They have to eliminate Mary and her children, then they can take over.

However, it is easy to say than done. Her husband mentioned to her that Mary is not a simple woman. She's more than what they see on the inside. Her husband told her that Mary has a very dirty secret that n.o.body knows. She tried to find out what kind of secret it is, but she could not find anything.

Although she could not find a single detail, Gloria is not giving up. She wants to humiliate Mary, she wants to show Mary that she is superior to her. She is tired of being looked down upon by everyone.

Everyone that she knows in the high society talking behind her back. They keep on comparing her to Mary, saying that Mary is the favorite daughter-in-law of Marcus Coleman and that Mary is very skillful than her. She is tired of hearing those words, they say good things Mary because Mary runs the family business. And once her husband runs the family business, all the good compliments and positive attention will belong to her.

She will show them that she is better than Mary. And she will make sure that they will swallow everything that they said to her.

"Let's go. We should not stay in this place longer, that old man might decide to come back here again." After James said his thoughts, he and his wife decided to go back to their home. James thinks that the more they stay here, the more likely that they are going to be busted by Marcus. After all, n.o.body is allowed to step foot inside the old mansion without the family elder's permission.

The twins came out of the closet when they are sure that James and his wife left the room.

They both have a complicated expression on their faces. They felt heartbroken that their own family member is trying to kill their grandfather. Aaron in this case who heard it for the first time is taking it hard.

Aaron doesn't like his uncle James since the very beginning, but he never thought James would do such a scheme towards his grandfather. "We're gonna make sure that he is not getting what he wants." He said.

Anna on the other hand, finally understood why her uncle James is doing all this. However, it still pains her.

James just discovered that he is not a son of a Coleman, and of course, it pains him to know that. But Anna still can't understand why her uncle James decided to kill the man who he has known as a father for so many years.

"Of course," Anna replied.

"You have the necklace on your pocket right?"

"Yes. It's a good thing that I didn't put it back on the case." Anna is so relieved that she did not put the necklace back to its original place or else her uncle James will take it and claim his rightfulness to run the family business. And she does not want someone like him to run their family's hard work.

"Good. Let's hide that necklace until the matter with uncle James is cleared. And for now, we won't tell any of this to grandfather." Aaron decided that they are not going to tell anything to their grandfather until he had enough evidence to show.

Besides his grandfather is already old and he can't take a piece of shocking news like the matter with his uncle James. Aaron is afraid that his grandfather will have a heart attack.

Anna nodded. She knows what her brother is thinking, and she understands the risk of telling their grandfather about her uncle James' scheme.

With a heavy heart, Anna sighed and gave the necklace to her brother.

Aaron took it with a questioning expression plastered on his face. "Why are you giving me this?" He asked.

"Duh! Obviously it's yours." Earlier she heard the necklace on her brother's hand is the treasured heirloom of their family. And it obviously belongs to the future leader of their family, her brother.

"How can you be so sure that this will belong to me in the future?"

"Brother, I have no intention of running the family business. I'll help you with everything I can, but I have no desire to become the heir to the throne." Anna said in a matter of fact tone.  Fighting for her rights in the family is not Anna's thing. She finds it very tiring and boring drama. To make it easy for them, she would gladly let her brother take it all.

If anyone is going to stand in her brother's way, then she has no choice but to let herself be involved in the family drama.

"What if I don't have the desire to run the family business?" Aaron asked jokingly.

"Well, you better have that desire now because I will not like it if our uncle Jame's stupid daughter run our family's hard work." Anna knows that her brother is only joking, but Anna replied to her brother seriously.

"Good thing that you parked your car behind these tall bushes, or else uncle James would know that we're here and we have the necklace." It would be troublesome for them if their uncle were to know that they have what he needs. "Why did you hide it here anyway?" Anna asked out of curiosity.

"For precaution because n.o.body is allowed to step inside the old mansion without the grandfather's permission. In a sense, we're trespa.s.sing." Aaron said with a shrugged.

"T-trespa.s.sing? How are we even trespa.s.sing this place when this is our family's mansion?" This old mansion is one of the Coleman family's property, so how is it possible for her and her brother to be trespa.s.sing a place when it is owned by their family?

Aaron did not answer his sister's question and just shrug. Truthfully, he is not sure if they are really trespa.s.sing the place, but the word 'trespa.s.sing' came into his mind, that is why he said it to his sister.
