When Ira heard doctor's words, she felt relieved.

As soon as the doctor left, the door opened again and her parents along with Tara entered the ward.

"Do you feel pain or discomfort anywhere?" His mother asked, worried.

"No mom, I am fine. Don't worry." He rea.s.sured her.

"Do you want to eat something?" His mother asked again.

"I just had an operation…" He smiled. After the surgery, he couldn't eat or drink anything, even water until evening.

When talking to everyone, Ira stood by the side in silence. He found her staring and him, and when he looked back, she would lower her head, not willing to meet her eyes with his.

When they discussed who will stay behind, Ira was adamant not to leave. She refused even to leave the room and get back to her bed, next door. Her mom said few words to her before leaving the room.

With everyone gone, the tranquility returned in the room. The air seemed to have been solidified. The atmosphere made Vivan restless.

Either she is not lucid, or he is too sensitive.

He casually leaned on the bed, watching her. She stood all the while like a child who got punished. He couldn't guess what was going on in her mind.

He took his phone, and his eyes swept through all old messages.

That day after reading the first few mesages he didn't read further. He saved them with screenshots. All this time her gaze was fixed on him

"Is there something on my face?" When caught her staring at him for the nth time, he couldn't help but ask her.

"No." She retracted her eyes again.

He couldn't take it any longer and patted the seat next to him. "Come and sit next to me."

She hesitated and then slowly walked towards him. When she was in arm distance from him, he stretched his arm and pulled her into his embrace.

"Why are you so lost?" he asked her softly.

Her body was limp in his arms; he smelled a mild lavender fragrance on her. His b.u.t.tons were open, revealing his s.e.xy collar bone.

"I was so scared…" As she spoke, she shed tears, crystal clear tear droplets fell drop by drop on his hand.

"I don't know what I would do, if something happened to you. I was so...…"

He pulled her and kissed her lips. A successful sneak attack and stopped her from talking. She didn't stop him as she yearned from him.

"You know, the person who was trapped. He's an architect too, my partner. We were inspecting the site."

"The days we didn't talk with each other got me distressed. I went out of the building to call you.

In the bas.e.m.e.nt, my phone had no signal."

There he couldn't move in time and his leg was trapped.

"You kinda save me.." He pinched her cheek and comforted her.If it weren't for her words at that time maybe he wouldn't have agreed quickly and saved in time.

Hearing his comforting words, she burst into tears.

She was his wife. But I didn't even know his life was in danger.

She was busy dealing with the company matters last life, at this point of time. She didn't go home for many days and slept in the lounge beside her office.
