Chapter 660: Problems

The meaning behind her gaze was clear.

A hint of grievance appeared in Bai Jingrou’s expression. “Miss Fang, why are you looking at me like that? Could it be that you’re suspecting me?” Tears were nearly forming in her eyes. “I don’t know how I offended you. You’re always upset with me…”

Besides calling out her grievance, it seemed like she had no intention of swearing her innocence.

“Enough!” Bai Chongshan raised his voice in unhappiness. “I have more than enough troubles. I’m already an old man, yet there are so many issues for me to deal with. Are you trying to anger me to death?”

“Grandfather, I don’t mean that at all.” Bai Jingrou rushed to speak untruthfully. “I dearly wish you would live to a hundred.”

Looking at Bai Jingrou, it seemed like it was a daily affair for her to speak untruthfully.

Fang Xinxin narrowed her eyes. Taking in the scene they had caused, it seemed like it was a good choice to not inform them that she had already registered her marriage with Bai Qinghao.

In Sheng s.h.i.+ Group’s CEO’s office, Bai Qinghao sat behind a large office table. The fountain pen he held in his hand danced across the doc.u.ments which he was quickly reading through.

Liu Li knocked on the door and entered. “Boss, a problem has arisen at the old mansion.”

Bai Qinghao lifted his gaze from the doc.u.ments. His eyes turned slightly cold and he indicated for Liu Li to continue speaking.

“All the fishes in the old mansion’s pond died overnight. Elder Bai has instructed Butler De to investigate the quality of the water in the pond.”

“They didn’t pin the matter on Xinxin, did they?”

“Not at the moment.” Liu Li shook his head.

Bai Qinghao responded coldly. “The Elder can handle a small matter like this himself.” He waved his hand and Liu Li immediately left the office.

For the past two days, Bai Qinghao had been working overnight in order to complete all of the doc.u.ments awaiting his approval. This way, he would have the time to go on a honeymoon with Xinxin after their wedding.

For the next two days, the two guard dogs the Bai family was raising barked non-stop and kept everyone awake.

Late at night, Elder Bai struggled to sleep with the noise. He tugged on a sweater and headed to the dog house.

He saw that Fang Xinxin was standing outside the dog house. The two dogs behind the cage barked relentlessly at her.

“Xinxin, what are you doing here?” Bai Chongshan was very surprised to see her.

“Oh, the dogs keep barking.” She responded with a frown. “I came to see what the problem was.”

Bai Jingrou also came there. She cried out in astonishment. “Miss Fang, why are the two dogs barking at you?”

“You can eat whatever you want. It’s your own problem if you choke. But you can’t spout nonsense as you please.” Fang Xinxin curved her index finger towards Bai Jingrou. “Come here!”

Bai Jingrou was confused but still approached her.

Fang Xinxin took ten steps away from her and watched as the two dogs barked frantically at Bai Jingrou. “Now, I’m also allowed to say that the dogs are barking at you, aren’t I?”

“…” Bai Jingrou was rendered speechless.

That was fine. A little bit of intelligence wasn’t enough for Fang Xinxin to run away from trouble.

There were many more problems waiting for her!

Bai Chongshan frowned and called for a helper. “We can’t leave these dogs barking incessantly. Call a vet over and inject them with some tranquilizers.”

“Understood.” The helper immediately went to carry out his orders.

The dogs finally fell silent and everyone returned to their own rooms to rest.

The next day, Elder Bai Zhongshan practiced his calligraphy in the yard as per normal.

Fang Xinxin, Bai Jingrou and Huang Zhishu accompanied him.

Butler Bai Mingde stepped forward to give his report. “Elder, this subordinate has sent a sample of the water in the pond for examination. The results show that there wasn’t any problem with the water quality.”

“You’re sure that there isn’t any problem?” Bai Chongshan placed the brush down and frowned.
