“Hu-husband… I'm being oppressed… Uncle and I came to eat dinner at the Western Restaurant, but they won't let us in…”

“Yan Yan, just wait for me. I'll take care of it. Whoever is bullying you, they won't get away with it. I'll support you completely. Don't let them bully you, I'm heading over right now.” Gu Yezhi said, coldly.

Bai Qingyan could overhear something breaking in the background. She stared at the arrogant woman in front of her and a.s.sured him, “Okay, I won't let them intimidate me.” 

She hung up the phone and, holding it, warned the other woman. “You'll get what you deserve!”

She didn't involve her husband with her career. She had been an excellent student at Weicheng Film Academy. She wanted to test her mettle against other artists. Only this way she could do those three years and hard-working teachers justice.

In this world, if you had no connections, you wouldn't be worth anything. Since Gu Yezhi was her husband, whenever she needed something, all she had to do was ask him.

The arrogant woman continued to stare at Bai Qingyan venomously. Her heart pounded like crazy, but she still taunted them. “You're just putting on airs! How successful could your husband be? Haha, don't make me laugh!”

That voice was incredibly familiar, but Bai Qingyan still couldn't figure out who it belonged to. Did she know that woman?

“I suggest you think about what you're doing and start pleading for mercy, otherwise…” She didn't bother completing her sentence. It was easier to intimidate people when you allowed them to imagine what you could do to them.

“Who are you pretending to be? I've already investigated you and know you're an orphan! Your mother died giving birth to you. You live with your uncle's family, but they don't support you. You have no background! What rich man's thigh did you grab?” The woman laughed, exposing Bai Qingyan's secrets and mocking her at the same time. 

As long as the person who Bai Qingyan called was not Gu Yezhi, with her connections, there was no way she'd lose.

“Yan Yan… Forget it… Just forget it and let's go… ” Bai Jian pleaded with his niece. That woman was so arrogant, she must be certain she would win. It was best to give up and retreat. But Bai Qingyan merely patted his arm, indicating he didn't need to worry about it.

She continued to stare at the sneering woman and the other stared back. Bai Qingyan took a step backward in surprise as she finally caught on the resemblance. Suddenly, she jumped forward, ripping the gla.s.ses out of the other woman's face.

Although she was a bit surprised, Bai Qingyan couldn't say she hadn't antic.i.p.ated this encounter. Throwing the sungla.s.ses to the ground, she exclaimed. “So it's you!”
