Chapter 55: A Dejected Prince With A Cold Outside And Tender Inside (11)

"Hey! That's raw water! It's not for drinking." Ah Zhao shouted.

At present, Zhao Yin doesn't care whether it's raw or boiled water any more. He only knows that if he doesn't drink water right away, he could become the first ever prince that is choked to death by buns in the history of Yan dynasty.

It takes him a lot of effort to swallow the bun. He feels everything has gone through great changes in those split seconds.

It's beyond his widest dream that he would end up in such a sorry plight.

Seeing Ah Zhao squats down and ready to eat, Zhao Yin is a bit unsatisfied. How heartless is this woman? Having seen him choked and in pain like that, she is not concerned at all and think only of eating her meal!

But on the other hand, his mouth acts one step ahead of his thought: "Slow down."

Ah Zhao looks at him, not quite understanding what he means.

But soon she sees what he meant. The bun is hard as a rock.

And it's tasteless.

Thanks to that, Ah Zhao can't swallow it at all so that she has no chance to get choked.

Zhao Yin quite indifferently watches her tearing up the bun bit by bit and stuffing them in her mouth like she's going to meet her death. He is quite amused by what she is doing and can't help but grin.

But he soon realizes what he's doing and represses his feelings.

He returns to his usual cold self and says: "Princess, since you got to this Palace of Happiness with me, you haven't eaten a normal meal. Why do you insist?"

Ah Zhao says to herself: "Do you think I want to come? I won't even bother if you are not the male lead."

But on the surface, she only gives Zhao Yin a distant glance and says nothing.

Looking at her, Zhao Yin suddenly turns around and leaves without a word.

Ah Zhao looks at his back, unable to figure out what he's thinking about and continues her desperate fight with the bun in her hand.

After an hour, Zhao Yin returns.

And there's a kettle in his hand.

Now, Ah Zhao finds a piece of cloth that is kind of clean. She wrings it out and wipes the place where they are going to sleep in the chamber. It's the place for sleeping and it must be cleaned up.

Zhao Yin sees the bun which is left in the plate almost untouched and frowns.

"Qin-s.h.i.+." He calls her.

Ah Zhao comes out with the cloth in her hands. Seeing her hands, all white and each of her fingers as long and fair as scallion stalks, he thinks to himself that they are meant to live in comfort among a pile of brocades. But right now, what she's carrying is not a handkerchief with aroma but a dirty and smelly rag.

He takes that as an offence to his eyes.

He frowns without even realizing it and says loudly: "What do you have in your hand? Get rid of it!"

Ah Zhao looks at him, speechless. She thinks that the Prince is still living in a dream of his past honor and glory.

Come to think of it, she feels quite sorry for Zhao Yin so she explains herself: "I need to clean up the sleeping chamber. Otherwise, we can't sleep tonight either."

"I said, get rid of it!" Zhao Yin shouted loudly in a stern voice.

The sudden loud shout scares Ah Zhao. Her hands shake and the cloth drops on the ground.

"Now, go and wash your hands." Zhao Yin orders.

Ah Zhao walks to the well without further thinking. She only comes to herself when she's half on her way to the well. Why does she follow what he said?

She stops unhappily and is about to turn around and complain when she sees Zhao Yin bends down and pours something into a clean bowl from the kettle.

It is boiling water with steam all over it.

Aware of Ah Zhao's stare, Zhao Yin says impatiently: "What are you waiting for? Now clean your hands and have your meal!"

Her heart skips a beat. She suddenly realizes what Zhao Yin went out for.

He was heating up the water.

Ah Zhao washes up her hands obediently and walks up to the stone table with a missing corner.

Two dry and hard buns are already put into the boiled water and start to soften. They finally give off some pleasant smell of food.
