4 So It Begins

Hearing the sound of a car stopping near her she turned. It was Yao Yan who stepped out of a sleek red Audi. She purposefully made sure to show off as much of herself as she could and slowed down.

The people around them were normally used to seeing expensive cars, but the scene in front of them took their breath away, they felt their mouth go dry as they stopped to take it in.

Seeing such a charming and mature woman walk with such confidence, it would catch anyone's eye.

Currently, Qiu Yue's character was 20, so standing next to Yao Yan who had changed up her look, they looked like a pair of sisters.

When Qiu Yue had first met Yao Yan, she wore casual clothes, but now she had changed up her style to look like a mature older sister / businesswoman.

Qiu Yue scowled at Yao Yan.

"That wasn't nice YanYan, I thought I was late! Do you know how much I rushed through everything?"

Yao Yan waved her hand nonchalantly.

"You're an hour early, isn't that good? If I hadn't changed the clocks to 3 hours in advance I don't even want to imagine how late you'd be."

She tsked at Qiu Yue.

"Eeeeeh, two hours isn't that late anyway, big deal."

(O ̄▽ ̄)O

"In the stupid host's standards, it's not! I'm going to go live life up okay? If you need me give me a call."

"Why can't you be orthodox like other systems and listen to my thoughts?"

Yao Yan smiled slyly at Qiu Yue who appeared grumpy.

"Is that a permission to listen to your thoughts? Very well! That's been recorded, you can no longer rescind that~!"

Yao Yan didn't wait for a response, she immediately got into the car and drove off.

The stuttering Qiu Yue wasn't even able to say anything to her face.

"You! You can hear my thoughts right?! Doesn't matter how far you run I'll keep curse thinking you all day!"

Huffing Qiu Yue looked around and realized she probably should not have said that aloud. Pretending like she hadn't just done that, she pulled back her shoulders and walked into the office as if she owned it while crying in her heart wondering why she was like this.

('°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)

Qiu Yue walked towards the elevators looking around the lobby area.

Now would be a good time to introduce what sort of business the CEO ML currently dealt with. Though their families were clans with heritage and family businesses and thus had many product lines, currently the CEO was working on expanding the developing information technology and processing section. The firm was based in improving user experience for the usage of electronics and was soon going to expand into games as well.

Qiu Yue hadn't actively looked for information yet, but till now she hadn't found many or actually, any mentions of anti-virus companies, which was very odd.

Were the people in this world just too nice?

As she had told Yao Yan earlier, Qiu Yue wanted to start producing Otome games, or the main target setting of many transmigration novels.

Well, she couldn't let the females in this world be deprived, could she?

And as an added plus this project could let her meet all four of the male leads, though she had no obligation to complete the mission of saving an ML and stopping the rest of the harem from being captured, after all, if she didn't have something to do, it wouldn't be fun.

And having points to buy say, a s.p.a.ces.h.i.+p, really wouldn't hurt.

She stepped near the elevator and waited for a few seconds for someone else to come too.

Qiu Yue slightly bowed her head in acknowledgment and smiled at the girl who had approached her.

"Miss, could you direct me to HR department?"

The girl who was named Zhou Jia was surprised at hearing Qiu Yue talk to her. Zhou Jia had thought this girl, who looked so professional and mature in her office attire, with her white and black patterned blouse and white high waisted pants, was a person from the government agency who had come here for a check, or someone who was acquainted with the CEO of Aries.

For someone who is slow-witted, this CEO of Aries was the one and only CEO Male Lead. Huo Zi Feng.

Qiu Yue felt her cheeks hurting from the subtle smile she had to maintain.

Humans are such a pain ah...

( ̄□ ̄」)

Zhou Jia wakened from her stupor as she realized she'd just been staring at Qiu Yue.

"Yes miss, of course, let me direct you to the HR department. I sincerely apologize, we were careless."

How could they have missed sending someone to receive her?

Zhou Jia felt that she needed to have a talk with the HR manager.

Qiu Yue could likely guess what was going on in the other woman's head. She hurriedly waved her hands.

"I'm actually an hour early! I guess I was so nervous, I lost track of time."

"h.e.l.lo! My name is Lang Qiu Yue. I had an appointment with Senior Feng today."

She bowed her head again while introducing herself.

"Oh! Miss Lang, I'm known as Zhou Jia, I'm CEO Feng's secretary. Please, come with me."

One may be wondering how the company and its employees would be like. After all, good and honest employees would imply that whoever selected them had a good eye, and was lucky, or perhaps picky. With enough exposure getting people to apply to a company isn't as hard as it to actually find people who can share your visions, and further elaborate it.

Qiu Yue felt that the interior of the building was very minimalistic, yet artistic. There was just the right hint of color. The accents were all geometric.

They both went up the seventh floor and there Zhou Jia introduced Qiu Yue to the HR manager.

They had a short conversation but it seemed as though the two were bothered by something. Qiu Yue could guess what it was, after all, she was here for a direct appointment with the CEO, and she was early, the two must have been worried about what she would do now. After all, if Qiu Yue made any outlandish requests they could only try their best to cater to them, but within their limits, and they weren't sure if they could offend her.

For one, Qiu Yue had made sure to introduce herself without her family name, as she didn't want any extra treatment. Other than to Zhou Jia, who she has recognized from the folder on Huo Zi Feng, she made it a point not to tell her last name to others unless she wanted otherwise.

Qiu Yue smiled at them.

"Is it possible for me look at the resources?"

"That is..."

"Of course only the ones freely available, I want to take another look at what the product design of the existing products is like."

"Of course, I can take you to the resource and library room."

Zhou Jia was relieved and nodded.

They both went down to the fifth floor and Zhou Jia took her to a large hall with multiple shelves on the left side and on the right side, there were monitor terminals at the back end, while the rest of the s.p.a.ce accommodated a few tables with chairs and a few sitting areas were spread about randomly.

"Then shall I come get you when it's time?"

Qiu Yue who had been looking at the beautiful books turned to Zhou Jia and nodded.

"Yes please, thank you so much."

Zhou Jia nodded at Qiu Yue and turned around and walked out.

Qiu Yue quickly skipped over to the design sections and picked up multiple books that caught her interest. She wanted to look at how the character design of games here worked, she also wanted to see how advanced the UI, CGI and the storylines were.

The company library had a large number of books based on the topic due to the new planned venture.

Qiu Yue pulled out a pencil and a journal from her handbag placed them on the table in front of her. She sat down and started flipping through the books and noted everything down in her notebook.

After half an hour she could conclude that the art here while having its own charm and style, she definitely felt she could make her own changes to it.

As a graphic designer, Qiu Yue was moderately used to coding. While she had never ventured into hacking, making apps and websites and the sort was not so hard. Looking at the current quality of them, Qiu Yue knew she could further take this industry ahead.

She felt that the motifs and traditional designs of this world were very colorful and vibrant. She really liked them and wanted to incorporate them into the new game she wanted to launch.

With more than twenty minutes to spare she decided to sketch the basic designs into the journal very roughly.

With books around her, as she sat focused on sketching. Her hair pulled up in a messy bun and her back erect, even from the side one could see her eyes, so clear and focused on her work.

This was the scene that Zhou Jia saw when she walked in. She was momentarily dazed before she finally walked up to the girl.

But seeing her so focused on work she wasn't sure as to whether she should call out or wait for her to finish.

A few minutes ticked by as she stood next to her just watching her work, but then finally Qiu Yue had finished working on the sketch and she moved to stretch her hands when she realized there was a human next to her.

"Oh! Miss Zhou, I'm so sorry, I was lost in my own world!"

Zhou Jia shook her head and smiled.

"Not at all. Shall we go?"

"Yes, of course, I will just put these books back."

Qiu Yue put her journal in her bag and quickly displaced the books she had picked out.

On the way to the ninth floor, which was where the CEO's office and the conference rooms and alike were located, she started speaking to Zhou Jia.

After a few icebreaker questions, they started talking, everything Zhou Jia said and more was mostly already mentioned in the dossier, but the important part was that she felt comfortable enough to share the truth.

Zhou Jia had a life similar to female lead, but she had adapted to it very differently.

Zhou Jia too was from a poor family and had been raised by a single mother. Her circ.u.mstances had forced her to mature early. She had taken up a lot of different jobs starting from middle school.

Finally, when she was in her final year of high school, she had decided to give up on college and start working full time in order to lessen the burden on her mother. But it was around this time her mother had found someone who truly loved her. While he wasn't as rich as in the female lead's story but he could provide for Zhou Jia's college fees. And above all he loved Zhou Jia's mother and not having any children, while he was awkward around Zhou Jia, he truly wanted to get along with her.

Zhou Jia had always been talented, and finally, she had applied to Huo Zi Feng's company. Her versatile work experience along with her apt.i.tude, talent, certification and above all - personality had made her a valuable a.s.set to the company.

What Qiu Yue did not understand was how this person had not been in the original story. The female lead had been recruited as Huo Zi Feng's secretary, that meant that Zhou Jia had left the job.

As the novel barely ever gave any time introducing or talking about any other character there had been absolutely no mention of Zhou Jia.

So Qiu Yue was quite curious as to what had led to this situation.

Finally, Qiu Yue stood in front of the CEO male lead's office.

She was finally going to meet a male lead in this world.

She hesitated slightly and Zhou Jia who thought she was nervous, smiled at her encouragingly.

Qiu Yue smiled in embarra.s.sment and open the door.

Unexpectedly she was surprised by what she saw.

The young man standing behind the desk looked every bit as good looking as the novel had described him to be. He was tall and had broad shoulders, his formal s.h.i.+rt hung loosely against his chest, but she knew - oh male leads. They always had amazing bodies. His pants fitted amazingly at the thighs, and his legs were so long.

His skin wasn't light or pale, it had a hint of bronze and looked healthy.

He had a sharp chin and his lips were really red, like cranberries in the summer heat.

His deep-set eyes were sharp and almond shaped with long and beautiful lashes and dark pupils that seemed to pull you in, once you looked into them - there was no going back. A few strands of his hair fell onto his forehead.

Standing against the gla.s.s pane which gave her a view of the cityscape, in his black suit and stature of around 190 cm, he looked like he owned the world. And yet his eyes that were normally described to be dominant and full of confidence, at this current moment, were inexplicably – nervous.
