QUEEN LYN: CLASH OF KINGDOMS

Chapter 148:

An hour later

Rhys gaze fell on the girl who was fast asleep. He seriously panicked a few minutes ago. But after he used his magic, her complexion gradually returned to normal. Earlier did he imagine it? The words she said to him then… What was she trying to say there? Did she genuinely mean her words? He is special?

A troubled look appeared on his face.

'd.a.m.n.'

He didn't think Lyn would catch him off guard like this. Ever since they met again, she has acted so stubborn with him.

Rhys could still remember how she coldly brushed him aside in the church.

'I adore you from the bottom of my heart.'

It's like what Melissa said. He can't move on just yet. He wants to stand by her side and protect her. He wants more than that.

Back in the Mist Kingdom

The Wind Kingdom's King Allen slumped on the chair in the study. He was exhausted. How come there is so much work for the ruler of the Kingdom to do? Naturally the ruler will have a lot of work, he understood that. But there is something strange here. Allen went through some of the doc.u.ments and realized something.

'Half of this stuff isn't her paperwork.'

Does Lyn have a hard time trusting other people with her work? No, it isn't that simple.

His thoughts broke off when the doors opened revealing Naoki. A deep sigh escaped his lips. It seems like he won't get a break here.

After a few minutes, Naoki finished his report. "That is all we have to report on the situation from last night."Naoki informed him.

Allen shuts his eyes, so that's what that feeling was last night. Since he was shut up in the meeting room then he hadn't seen the crosses in the air. But he had felt the waves of power clas.h.i.+ng.

"I see and those two?"

"It appears as though they took refuge  elsewhere due to the weather. .."Naoki trails of. "We have a report on Queen Lyn too."

"What about her?" Allen tried to feign interest, but it did him no good. He was very concerned about her.

"The Queen condition seems to be generally okay on the surface. But there is no guarantee that she is completely safe. What's more going in the mountains like that in that weather, I am afraid, that we can't be too relaxed."

At that comment he frowned. "Naoki."

"Prince, you are concerned about it are you not?"

Allen sighed. "Indeed I am. It would give anybody a headache. "

If her disease was just turboclois then the cure would be simple after six months of treatment. However, it isn't. Her illness itself has no name.

"What is occurring on that side? Are they done with the a.n.a.lysis?"

"Yes regarding that…the captain Zepher requests an audience with you right now."

His eyes widened at those words.

"Show him in."

His guard leaves for a moment and shortly returned with Zepher. Allen could not believe who he was seeing. This man has not showed up in front Lyn for years, and yet here he is? Though Zepher has secretly aided the Mist Kingdom this entire time. The man has not appeared in front of Lyn in so long.

"My, it has certainly been awhile since we last spoke King Allen."

"Indeed, not since a few years back. "He trails off. "I guess your visit today is to do with my request?"

Zepger nodded.  "Please take a look at this." He held up a container and opened the lid up. "This is the Houjo households heirlom called the red crystals."

Red shards of rock? Allen frowned. Why did it look familiar -- his thoughts broke when something came to mind.

'I was made to swallow something. Apparently it was something that resembles a stone.'

"Don't tell me this is what causes the blood like instincts---!" Allen realized.

"You must have heard that from Prince Andrew." Zepher lifts the stone in his hands and paused for a moment. "It is still unknown whether or not it is this stone that's causing this. But the interesting part is this was taken from the eternal spring."

"The eternal spring?!!"

The eternal spring was a spring of water that contained different types of magic.

Zepher nodded. "Yes. According to the legend of the eternal spring you can cure any disease by drinking it's water. But it seems like since the red crystal was removed that effect vanished. So we can safely a.s.sume that this rock  caused the spring to have some sort of affect."

'I suppose that makes sense.'

"Also, your blood differs from a regular person."

He raises his eyebrows. "My blood?"

"Something weird happened when I was investigating the past. Just now you thought of something when I said etern spring correct?"

Allen nodded. "Yes that's right. When I was little, I drowned in that spring and drank a lot of water.." he trails off realizing right away what he meant. "You mean I accidentally drank some fragments of the red crystal?"

"That's correct."

"But still if that is the case, isn't it a lot more simple? We could just remove the gem." Naoki suggests.

Zepher shook his head. "That won't work. Especially in her case, she has already become one with her other half. It's already become part of her. I'm sure the gem has mixed in with her own blood now.  If you think about it that way, the only solution left is ensuring that she has control of it. No, ensuring she faces the source of the nightmare."

"You mean the curse?" Allen questioned.

"That curse upon further research has not always been regarded as a source of evil. Before it was known as a curse it was called a guardian angel who watches over the container. However due to the incidence that happened ten years ago - since then it has become a fallen angel in the form of a curse. "

Guardian angel, fallen angels, re shards of rock and Eternal spring. So much information to take in.
