Chapter 1530: I will apologize to you, okay?

“What is different?” She frowned and looked at him. “Are you going to say something again?”

“Take a closer look at the words he wrote. The first word of each sentence.” He stood up and stared at her with a deep look. “Look carefully; there is a whole story inside.”

“Is that so?” She did not believe it. She had not expected Huang Zhian to be this ‘scheming’.

“Look at it yourself if you don’t believe me.” Ji Ziming walked to the window and adjusted his tie with the guide from his reflection. The striped, grey tie accentuated his handsome features and his tall stature. He stood up straight.

“I know now.” Once she finished reading that guy’s confession note, she clutched the white paper tightly, causing it to wrinkle immediately. Her chest undulated in her anger. “He’s a terrible piece of sh*t. How could he claim that I was his contact? What has it got to do with me? Him stealing corporate secrets has nothing to do with me at all.”

“Have you seen through his true colors now?” The man leaned against the gla.s.s wall and regarded her with a knowing gaze. “It’s not too late for you to find out his true colors now.”

“What do you mean?” Pei Ge revealed a look of surprise. Her beautiful eyes were slightly moist from the anger she had felt just then. “Do you already have a solution for this?”

“Of course. How could I let my woman easily be framed by such trash? If it’s framing, I can easily make him unable to see the light of day again.”

His gaze turned ruthless the moment he said that. The smile on his lips was akin to the grin of a demon. Every movement and action of his was as though he were out to punish someone.

“You want to frame him?”

She was a bit afraid. Huang Zhian actually claimed that he had done it under the orders of Red Star’s new legal representative. Moreover, he had indeed come looking for her at the Ji family’s villa previously and even pa.s.sed her a doc.u.ment which resembled ‘company secrets’. It was, actually, not, though. It was merely a page of their cla.s.smates’ graduation messages.

“Yes. I’m not about to let someone plainly take advantage of you. It won’t be easy for him to go against me.”

He coldly harrumphed, directing his cold gaze far into the distance outside the window.

“This has nothing much to do with him, though. He’s clearly doing this for that employer who bought trade secrets from him. Perhaps, it’s his employer who’s scheming and he’s in the dark about it.”

“Whether it’s his previous employer or him, I won’t let any of them off easily. None of those people who try to plot against you shall escape from my clutches. I will catch them all one day.”

His icy gaze made a cold s.h.i.+ver run down her spine. She had not expected him to sacrifice so much just to aid her in catching the mastermind behind all these.

“Ziming, I can handle it myself. Huang Zhian’s case is considered slander. I will go explain it at the police station. I don’t believe that they will turn a blind eye to the law.”

“I will go with you.”

“No need. You just have to wait for me here. ‘A straight foot isn’t afraid of a crooked shoe.’ In any case, I still have the t.i.tle of the Ji Group’s CEO wife to protect me, so what do I have to be afraid of?”

“Just listen to me; I will accompany you. If anything happens, at least I’m there with you.”

Pei Ge felt her heart warm at this. Whether she was lost or helpless, his one statement from him touched her so much. This man always did as he claimed he would. No matter where she went, he would always be by her side.

“Will auntie be there when we go to the hospital tonight?” She was finally able to put down a matter weighing heavily on her. As she watched Ji Ziming lean against the window, she felt a little lonely, and when she thought of having to face his mother tonight, she suddenly felt scared again.

“Of course, she will be. She’s the one taking care of Ji Chi at the hospital.”

“Then, what about our other kids?”

“In the ward next door. Don’t worry; Auntie Zhang is also there. They will be fine.” He walked up to her and said gently, “You only need to do what you want. I will handle everything else.”

“Mhm.” She nodded, her gaze on him turning warm. “Ziming…”

“What’s wrong?” He eyed her with his deep-set eyes. His handsome features and sharp jawline were imprinted on her mind like pictures.

“No. It’s nothing.”

She was a bit startled when he suddenly neared her so she intuitively leaned away. The man reached out and cupped the back of her head, protecting her as he spoke in his low and magnetic voice. “You are being careless again. Do you want me to kiss you again?”

“No, release me; I’ll stand up properly now.” Her face, still red from the earlier kiss, turned a few shades redder again.

“You are already the mother of three, adorable children, yet you’re still so shy. It won’t be good if they see you like this.”

“Go away. Hurry and go away.” She pushed his hand away, and the back of her head instantly hit the tabletop with a bang!

“Ais.h.!.+ That hurts,” she cried in pain, earning her a cold gaze from the man.

His clear voice sounded from above her. “You don’t believe me, do you? Now, you know pain?”

“It’s all your fault for suddenly coming so close, or else, I wouldn’t have hit my head, right?”

“My fault?” A corner of his lips tilted upward as the iciness in his eyes was instantly replaced by spring.

“If it’s not your fault, then was it mine? Wasn’t it your fault for suddenly running over?”

“My fault, then. I’ll apologize to you, okay?” With each hand on the left and right of the sofa, he moved his body downward and closer to her. His gaze also moved from her waist up to her reddened cheeks. “I’ll say sorry to you. Do you wanna hear it?”

Fully understanding his thoughts and spotting the slyness in his eyes, she quickly rejected him.

“No, sir. You didn’t do anything wrong. Everything was my fault, and it had nothing to do with you. You should not bicker with an unimportant person like me, so please let me off.”

“Let you off? Give me a reason.”

“This little woman has older and younger ones to take care of, so I really can’t survive your torture. Please be benevolent and let me off.” Her dramatic statement surprised him so much. He did not know that she had this side to her.

“Your acting is very realistic.” His smile deepened, and he did not bother hiding the burning pa.s.sion in his eyes.
